In 1745, during the War of the Austrian Succession and the Second Schredien War, Prussian forces under Frederick the Great won victories against Austrian and Saxon allied forces in Hohenfrietberg. Der Hohenfriedberger is said to have been composed in commemoration of this.
The composer is unknown, but the story that Frederick the Great composed it himself is also deeply believed.
The performance here is by The Japan Maritime Self Defense Force Tokyo Band.
