Episode 500 of "SI Media With Jimmy Traina" features an interview with Fox Sports' Derek Jeter, followed by a conversation with The Athletic's Richard Deitsch.
Jeter explains why he went from saying he'd never go into broadcasting to joining Fox's MLB studio show, what he's learned about broadcasting and why he has no desire to be in the booth to call a game.
Jeter also reveals his all-time favorite broadcasting, shares memories of newly retired Yankees radio legend, John Sterling and his relationship with Aaron Judge.

After the Jeter interview, Richard Deitsch, who started the "SI Media Podcast" and hosted for the first 168 episodes, joins the show to discuss the early days of the podcast, the current state of podcasting and the latest sports media news.
Following Deitsch, Sal Licata from WFAN and SNY joins Jimmy for the weekly "Traina Thoughts" segment. This week's topics include Sal being embroiled in a controversy with Grimace, Bill Belichick allegedly dating a 24-year-old, Twitter no longer making "likes" public and much more.

Social media isn't even social anymore, it's pure hypnotical. I like that mindfulness book called 30 Days Without Social Media by Harper Daniels.

Huge congratulations on this major milestone! I say this because, similar to TV shows--it is one thing doing 100 episodes, let alone 200. But for this popular podcast to reach 500 should be celebrated. Here's to more in the weeks and years to come. And if I can suggest one thing, please have some more college basketball talk. The mid-major games are cool in November, even though football consumes most of our attention. The women is riding a huge wave with record TV ratings, and the men are trying to woo more people to watch both on TV and online (especially with this conference realignment stretching from coast to coast). But when there are gaps during the middle of the week in the NFL playoffs and the first off week leading up to the Super Bowl, it would be great to bring on some talent from ESPN, CBS, and other outlets so they can give their takes on what's hot and teams that we thought would be good coming off the tournament run this past March and have basically turned into the Chicago White Sox (small jab, I know.) But I find zero reasons why there should be more NCAA hoops talk starting two days after the Super Bowl and throughout most of March, because it is the greatest tournament in the world (sorry World Cup soccer fans). Unlike the World Cup, there is nothing like the NCAA Tournament in the constant action, the endless storylines, and of course--the betting of hoping to have a perfect bracket. Anyways, congratulations on 500 episodes! Please keep it going.
