Lmfao people blaming lalonde for certain rookies not making the team when there are too many veterans and not enough roster spots. 😂 also getting mad when veterans aren't willing to go 100% in preseason games that are meaningless 3 games before the regular season starts. 😂
Johansson has to be on the team. The Wings can't keep putting off his development. He needs to be playing in the NHL. There will be growing pains, but Johansson starts off slow and gets going the more he's on the ice. If he can find his game in the NHL, it'll improve our defense far more than just being safe and playing Holl or Maatta.
Man... I hope this goals-against campaign isn't going to hamper the offensive tools we've seen the previous year. I know it's preseason, but dang that was a boring game to watch yesterday. The compete level was brain-numbingly mid-tier at best.
Lalonde and Yzermans obsession with "better defensive play" is stifling their strength in offense. They lost a ton of goal scorers in the offseason and don't think they adequately addressed it. Lalonde is not the right coach. He's not a good motivator. The work ethic isn't consistent enough.

Sprong, fabbri and ghost were a big part in that. Every year the team has gotten better under lalonde. They weren't expected to make the playoffs yet everyone keeps talking like they were expected to win the division. Motivation doesn't mean crap when you don't know how to play properly. Lalonde is teaching them how to play properly. You can find good motivators in assistants and players. Motivation wasn't an issue. A lack of execution and bad goaltending was the issue last year. We saw buffalo a couple of years ago finish 2nd in goals scored and still miss the playoffs. Scoring doesn't mean crap when you can't defend
Lmfao it's preseason. The only guys who should be showing any intensity is the ahlers and rookies. 😂 there is no reason to risk injuries in meaningless games
