Oh my gosh I got laser on my face and it stimulated so much acne it gave me hell - I’m still managing the acne AND the hair lol. I pluck my facial hair now 😵💫😵💫
Dr Liu, please could you do a video on benzene in skin care products? There’s been news reports saying benzoyl peroxide-containing products has cancer-causing levels of benzene. This is rather alarming, what would be your professional opinion on this? 😢
So many people recommend the La Roche-Posay Toleraine Double Repair Moisturizer, and I can't use it. It won't sink into my skin. It dries down to a layer on top of my skin that pills whenever I try to put anything on top of it. I've tried to get it to work, but my skin just won't absorb it.
You need to use a cleanser that will leave your skin hydrated so it can absorb . Either that or it’s the opposite your skin is probably acne prone and oily use a cleanser that will really cleanse your skin when you apply it it fully absorbs into the skin
Based on what other dermatology channels have said, they can be used together (provided your skin tolerates it). I might check Dr. Liu's azelaic acid video though for more info.
Since adapalene didn’t work for me, does it make sense to move onto trying to get a prescription retinoid or just using an OTC retinol? I used adapalene consistently for three months and it only made my skin more oily and acne worse.
Adapalene doesn’t work with me too. When I switch to the prescription one, it works like a charm. I also like over the counter A313 from French pharmacy: it’s more gentle than the prescription one.
5:20 hello Dr. Liu, I’ve been using adapalene and BP for my moderate acne for 3 weeks now and I think it’s (slowly) working. do you suggest to add a treatment gel in AM routine like the one from CeraVe or to continue like that without adding any other active ingredient? thank you so much
