I had my dermatology appointment after about 5 years of not going. The doctor found some suspicious things.

Jenny I had a small mole for years on my lower back and looked fine My dermatologist and I decided a few years ago to get it removed just to be safe The results came back stage 1A Melanoma I was so surprised I went to an oncologist plastic surgeon for surgery to make sure the margins are clear (4in inscision) I get checked every 6 months by my dermatologist and oncologist and have been clear ever since So thankful we caught it early

I'm so glad your was caught early. I had a melanoma on my arm 25 years ago and had to go through surgery for that, too. They say once you've had one you're more likely to have another at some point in your life. I'm hoping one was enough for me. ☺

Hi Jenny 😀 Good for you for getting the dermatologist checked off your list. I need to do it that myself. I enjoyed seeing the scrapbooks. Cool that you traveled to Ecuador! You're right, we didn't have cellphones, so we spent a lot of time writing notes and doing the "lettering" designs on notes, for the covers of notebooks, etc. Loved doing that! So it looks familiar, as I was HS Class of '82. Wow how fast time goes by...Sorry for your loss of Maria. She kept all those notes/letters from you so she must have loved you so much. I have never colored my hair and just turned 60. Maybe 30% is white (in the back mainly). I'm just embracing it I guess, lol. I might change my mind, lol. Always fun spending time with you 🌞💐💛💝🌻🐞

Yeah, it was good to see the dermatologist. Traveling to Ecuador was an experience. And writing notes was fun. I liked using my multi-color pen for some of them, too. Hair coloring - I started long ago when I got married. My girlfriend put highlights in my hair. Then I just liked my hair blonder so I started coloring again when the kids were young. I stopped once and had gone into a Kohl's fitting room and felt I looked horrible so started again. This last time I didn't think my hair looked too bad, but thought I'd color it again. We'll see if I keep it up or I just let it grow out now. I'm glad you enjoy the videos! 💜

My husband just had a mole removed that was melanoma. He has to go every 3 months now for awhile. I’ve had some basal cell carcinomas removed, I go once a year now. Happy Birthday to your daughter 🥳 Your hair looks so pretty, have a great time at your reunion! I got my CT results today-No evidence of disease! I get another in 6 months. I’m doing well just still recovering from the effects of the surgery, I follow up with my pulmonologist at the end of the month Have a wonderful weekend 😊

Woohoo! So happy your CT results were good! That is fantastic! I hope the rest of your recovery also keeps going well. And, yeah, I had a melanoma removed about 25 years ago so I had been seeing the doctor's once a year. Then I stopped going when I was 50 years old thinking I had been healthy all those years so I'll only go when I'm not feeling good. Well I'm back to going every year now. ☺ Thank you for the birthday wishes, I will pass those along. And I hope you have a fabulous weekend! 💜

I’m glad your dermatologist appt went well and with you talking about it helps others to be aware and get checked. I had some basal cell carcinoma removed from my face 5 years ago. That was fun to see the scrapbook pics of you in the paper! I’m sure your class mates will enjoy seeing what you have collected and from Maria’s book too. After 43 years of colouring my hair (we started going grey young in our family), I decided after this past Christmas, to go natural. My brown colour has almost grown out, and it has come in pure white! But I like it, thank goodness. Happy Birthday to Mandy and have fun at the reunion. 💜💜

I'm glad you had your skin checked and caught everything early. My parents had started seeing a dermatologist and had some basal cell carcinoma's and so I figured DNA - I should get myself checked. There was one mole I didn't like the look of. Doc thought it was ok but removed it anyways. Turned out to be a melanoma. That was 25 years ago. I started seeing the dermatologist once a year but then stopped when I turned 50 as I had been healthy all those years. Well, now I'm back to going every year. ☺ And I'll probably stop coloring my hair again. Unless I go for a fun color. We'll see how I feel in about 6 weeks. 😄 Thank you for the birthday wishes for Mandy. I will pass those along. And I'm looking forward to the reunion. Hopefully it won't rain. We were hoping to go to a park in between our High School tour and the hall. 💜

Hi Jenny. I'm so glad everything turned out okay at the dermatologist. I get itchy scalp after coloring hair, and I started using head and shoulders shampoo and conditioner. It definitely works and smells a lot better then it use to. Have A Peaceful Weekend ❤

Thanks for letting me know. We have some Head and Shoulders 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner. It works ok. I used to use a shampoo called T-Gel that was recommended by my last dermatologist 25 years ago but they stopped making it. That shampoo worked well. I hope you have a fabulous weekend! 💜

Jenny, I am glad there was nothing serious with the moles/growth areas! I had 2 moles removed (non-cancerious) using that freezing spray you mentioned. Same with me, the first 3 sprays or so were fine....after that Ouch!! 😂 I could definitely feel a super 'stinging' sensation. Crazy spray, but it does the trick!! I have never dyed my hair, my mom used to do that faithfully, but I don't mind my natural 'grayish' color, I like it. Well, enjoy your day, and Happy Birthday to your daughter!🎉 Take care Jenny! God bless you ✝️

The one thing you really want to check on is STRESS. You have been under a heck of a lot of stress over the last year, so now is the time to BREATHE and LET GO. DeStress. Stress is one of the main issues with skin problems, so give it a go and let go. I'm with ya gal!!!! Be healthy, stay safe and many blessings, Moi.

Thank you! I am doing that much more often now. When I feel stress I realize it and take a deep breath and relax and tell myself "one day at a time". I hope you are doing well and having a fabulous weekend! 💜

@@jenny_rice This weekend was the big Pike's Peak Air Show and it was grand. I am an Air Force brat so having jets overhead is/was a common occurrence. There were a lot of heat exhaustion near fatalities but fortunately no one died. We don't usually have this hot of weather. I'm always thinking of you and sending you good positive vibes and energy. I had to go through a lot of behavioural therapy to help me get a grip on my PTSD so when I say BREATHE I really, really mean it. And do it more than once. One way or another we will survive!!! Be healthy, stay safe and many, many blessings, Morgan

@@Threadsandjars How neat! My husband wants to go to the EAA Fly In in Oshkosh. It's in July. That's one of the things on his "bucket list" per se. Hopefully next year. So that's neat that you were able to enjoy the air show near you and you stayed safe. I will keep you in mind when I need to breathe! Thanks for sharing your stories and the continued blessings. Love you! 💜

I have had squamous cell carcinoma removed on my face and Melanoma stage 2 on my stomach. I hadn’t even seen anything on my stomach. I had been going to a dermatologist once a year and both were caught at a yearly exam.

Excellent! I'm glad they caught them. I asked to have a mole removed from my arm that I didn't like the look of and the dermatologist thought was fine. It came back as a melanoma so I started having yearly check ups but stopped a few years ago. I will start up again. 💜
