I must confess, I have been known to cut the plastic pump bottles and scoop out whatever is left of the product into another container. Often times, it is no small amount!
I was sorry that you didn’t mention the Dermarest products standing right next to Nizoral. Dermarest is a really great shampoo for psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis. It’s a 3% salicylic acid, unscented, conditioning, and gentle. I highly recommend it.
I hated giving up my shower pouf but then I found silicone bath brushes---similar to the silicone scalp massagers but larger with tons of thin soft silicone bristles---they feel amazing and much more hygenic.
Your hacks are absolute GOLD. Prosacea is such an underrated product; it’s a permanent fixture in my acne arsenal. I much prefer glycerin over HA. I’m going to try that on my lips, and the Vaseline stick on my nails. I get disproportionately giddy over these tips! 😄 Thank you 💕
Dr. Dray, your information has been invaluable and provided a solution that many other practitioners have not been able to connect the dots. Thanks for keeping it simple, it's stunning that many don't get this today.
I love when you take us with you to Wal-Mart. It's the store closest to me and where I buy the majority of skin care and makeup. And all of these hacks are great!! Thanks, as always, for the information. You're awesome! Happy Thursday, Dr Dray!! I hope you have a peaceful evening. 💗
Love the information you share. Not all of us go to Dr for minor skin issues. You helped me with couple issues. Years ago my husband had serious issue one his fingers. Dr tried ointments etc and his fingers cracked and bleed and hurt. My husband touch certain chemicals occasionally at work. I suggested this was problem. I rubbed Vaseline one his hands each night had him sleep in cotton gloves. Within 2 weeks his hands were healed. He had been dealing with issue for 9 months before my suggestion. Love Vaseline for many things.
Thanks for the tips on treating and/preventing EIB on the feet/toes. I almost always wear socks around the house and while sleeping. (I have cold feet.) 🥶 With night sweats I sometimes worry about what any excess moisture might cause to my sensitive skin.
Wow! What an info packed video, with great advice on ordinary but extremely useful products !!! Some i already swear by, Kerasal products and Liquid Bandage. You're the best !
The pink buildup in sinks is likely serratia marcescens bacteria. Hydrogen peroxide is not ideal to remove this because the bacteria has the catalase enzyme which will breakdown hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen.
I have that pink scum in my bath drain and I use hydrogen peroxide after my shower and bleach every weekend when I clean it on the weekend. This keeps it away and very clean. 😊
I use the Benadryl cream for ant bites. If it's not doing anything I really really appreciate what I can use that will immediately relieve the pain of reaction to ant bites. I think it's an allergy. The reaction takes a few hours to materialize ( usually in the middle of the night!).
I disagree with her comments about the Benadryl cream. I'm allergic to mosquito bites and it's the only thing that gives me relief. I've tried everything else and those bites will stay for weeks without scratching them, but will be gone in a day or two if I use the Benadryl cream.
Dr. Dray, do you have any suggestions for very dry lips. I recently went to my dermatologist and she did take a culture to see if it was yeast, it came back negative. I do not lick my lips, I drink about 54 ounces of water a day. I rarely wear lipstick. I have used Vaseline, Cerave ointment, lip balms and nothing seems to help. I am 72 years old. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank You.
Maybe it could be your toothpaste causing irritation? You could try one without Sodium Layroul sulphate (SLS), the foaming agent. And wash/rinse your face after brushing with a gentle gel cleanser. Also La Roche Posay cicaplast balm layered underneath petrolatum ? I use both daily. Some lip balms can also be very irritating. Some that irritate include lanolin, aroma, fragrance.. What about sunscreen? Your lips need so much SPF applied more frequently than the rest of your face. Dr. Dray has videos about lip care too!
@@LauraAmanda8888 Thank you for the idea. I am definitely going to try it. I already have the tooth paste,,,I wondered why it didn't foam, now I know!!
Tips for hang nails are wonderful because i did the tip with vaseline and it worked. I mean i doesn't bother me, i apply a small size to the area and the small pain coming from the hang nail is greatly alleviated because vaseline acts as second skin and shields the area from external aggressions 😊❤. Intrigued by the glycerin moisturizer 😊 . Always a pleasure hearing tips from doctor Andrea ❤ and debunk stuff related to dermatology.
Topical benadryl cream actually works very well on my allergic mosquito bites, Idk about the gel 🤷 without it, my mosquito bites would swell up to he size of another knee on arms or legs
Athletes foot cream is great for severe diaper rash too. Good to know that it helps with chapped in the side of mouth- every once in awhile I get this. Thanks!
Oh. I love topical Benadryl…and I take Benadryl capsules for itching skin. I dunno. They both have been amazing for me. It was given to me IV at the hospital when I had an all over body rash attack, along with IV steroids, a few months ago.
I would love to see more videos like this it’s so interesting; I will definitely be using ‘liquid bandage.’ Zeasorb is the best in all of their varieties: excessive moisture, athletes foot, and jock itch and I have used them all interchangeably and have not experienced and negative affects doing so. Also, I use Nizoral on my eyebrows and facial hair to relieve scaling. Nizoral has a really good conditioner too.
Didn’t know that liquid bandage can help with hang nails! I am prone to with my line of work. I use petroleum jelly at night to soften my nails but throughout the work day that was helpful to learn that Hank for healing of hang nails!👍😊👏
Menoxidyl also causes the heart to “skip beats” as a side effect and I’ve experienced that after using Rogaine for an extended period after Covid-related hair loss. I switched to Vegamour to grow the hair out and no more heart side effects.
@@orosco97 I like it! I think I'm currently on my 5th bottle and try to watch for sales on their site and Sephora VIB. It gets a bit expensive (one bottle of hair growth serum lasts about a month). I started growing my front hairline and it filled in rather quickly and you can see new baby hair showing up. I would say it definitely works, just expensive.
Thank you Dr. Dray for sharing this helpful information on the ingredient - Methylisothiazolinone. I recently bought the Kimuse Color Corrector ... I noticed in the long list of ingredients that Methylisothiazolinone was in this product also. Take care everyone 🌹
Jammed.packed with great info! I injured my toes nails in too tight Hike shoes. I'm going to try those.kerisil patches. Also Florida heat panty line heat rashes. I was using neosporin, but will try the other recommendations.
Hey, Dr Dray. Thanks for the thorough and informative videos you always provide. I'm currently on lithium to treat bipolar disorder and I noticed at the beginning that I was getting whiteheads here and there but I didn't connect it to the lithium until last week my dose was increased and I got a really bad acne flare on my cheeks and forehead. Is there anything I can do to treat it? Getting off the medicine is not an option at the moment. I'm currently using glycolic acid toner, Cerave's renewing SA cleanser and blemish control cleanser and gel.
Hello Dr Dray, thank you for always making such helpful and informative videos❤ I wanted to start adapalene gel and wanted to ask if you can use galactomyces (in the form of a toner) while also using the adapelene? Thank you!
Hi Dr. Dray, is there something you can recommend for dry and itchy eyelids? I think I had a reaction to something I put on or near my eyes. This was also complicated by my eyes tearing and seeming to dry out more from my tears. I have tried Vaseline without much relief. Any suggestions are very much appreciated! Thank you
i think i get tinea versicolor. not as bad as the scabby/dry yeast patches but darker blotches. can the antifungal shampoos be used as body wash? or is it more effective to spot treat with clotrimazole
Hi there, I'm surprised nobody mentioned some obvious issues when you were talking about the benadryl gel. Upon researching this further, that specific product works in two different ways, first is the assumption that the itch is caused by an allergic reaction which diphenhydramine does address but we all know the mechanism of how diphenhydramine works which is basically it only prevents it from getting worse. It blocks histamines from going to the skin where the allergic reaction is happening. Also this product has camphor in it which helps to reduce skin irritation rather than just the cooling of gel which may help as well. It does work with itch called by allergic reaction which is what is it advertised as.
Can you talk about spironolactone? It's been really great for my hormonal acne.. but now that I've achieved a cadence with my skin care routine (it's been 3 years of spiro), I want to try and wean off. I'm scared! Thanks!
Dear Dr Dray, I have an interesting question regarding sebaceous and sweat glands. Some people say that if you cleanse more, our skin will produce more oil/sweat. But that cannot be true since there are no recepotors that could sense that I have cleansed my skin and send messages to the glands to produce extra oil/sweat. It just feels that way. Can you confirm that? Thanks in advance, Akos ;-)
Why are companies putting hyaluronic acid in their sunscreens? Isn't it contradictory? Hyaluronic acids are supposed to be applied on damp skin, contrary to sunscreens; will that make your skin dry?
I know you recommend terbinafine but I’ve recently come across some information suggesting that butenafine is more effective. Do you have an opinion on this? Can they be used in conjunction for athletes feet not responding to either in isolation?
Any idea what is in the new Billie deodorant sticks that is causing all the skin redness, rashes and irritation. Would love to hear your review on what that's all about. 👍
So wanted to be here earlier to ask if washing my skin care off my chin after 2 hours still gives benefits as I don't want puppy licking up skincare... 💜💜💜
Hello Dr. Dray. I just want to ask if i can use skintific 5% panthenol acne calming water gel with the ordinary (product) niacinamide+zinc? Can i use it together at the same time? Hope u notice me thank you! Keep safe. ❤
I was planning to use cleanser then the ordinary niacinamide+zinc. But i am not sure if i can use the skintific moisturising gel after that. I do my research but i want to make sure that's why I'm hoping u can answer me thankyou!!❤
Hi Dr.Dray… can you talk about apple cider vinegar sometime? Or give your thoughts on it as a natural remedy? I’ve used it as a foot soak to get rid of a plantars wart on my toe that I’m sure I picked up at my local pool….. I know - gross. But ACV worked better than the drugstore treatments.. But I’ve also used it as a scalp treatment (diluted!!!) Any thoughts??? Please let me know. I think ACV is a great product for so many uses ❤❤❤
Hi dr dray can u please tell how i can double cleanse my sunscreen that i reapply consistently (although it's not water resistant) as oil cleansing gives me acne and rubbing with cotton pads and Micellar water further aggravate acne, what i can do as i do need to do some makeup on special occasions 🥺
I stopped using pads to remove micellar water. I pour it into my palm ,smear it all over my face, and immediately follow with a cleanser. Rinse well. Works great
It bothers me when people take their rings off to wash their hands..and then don’t wash the rings, and put the rings back on. The rings are dirty just like your hands were. Yikes!
