I absolutely love what he does. My whole family is hooked on the show “The Mentalist” and I keep thinking that he is just like the character, but real which is so cool.
Went to his live show many years ago (King's Lynn i think), front row. He picked out a local woman from front row. Started this tricked and let her win £20. He then asked if she would like to gamble the £20 for £200 on one guess, left or right. She said “no thanks, I’ll keep the £20” … soooo funny as he tried to persuade her. Eventually he gave her the £20 and did the last left right trick to give her a chance to win £200. Brilliant show.
I am a little shocked at how few subscribers Derren has. Look at the leaky bags of fetid DNA that have millions of subs on this platform and compare to the lifetimes honing of skills and insight that take the breath away. I don't want to sound like a bloody advert but if you like this stuff and get a chance go see him live. You will not regret it.
This is still probably my favourite thing you have done, such a simple premise. This was my introduction to derren brown, at 2am on a Saturday morning, before you became known. Hooked ever since!
Derren Brown is the best. He’s also one of the top people I recommend as I come across way too many who don’t know him… it feels cool to see another DB fan appear in front of my eyes, lmao. XD
@@user-kj2wh9sl2k I don't know why you: 1. replied to random comment that looks like religious copy/paste 2. used unicode 3. wrote "app" instead of "upp" 4. put three { and three } in the second line 4. left *√* after second word 6. wrote seemingly random numbers 7. probably knew I wasn't gonna write 5 in this list ...but I'm down with whatever you're doing :P Salute from Poland!
I would just ask if I can flip a coin to chose the envelope, and if he disallows it, I'd find some pseudo-random way to chose (example: think about a part of a poem you memorized, and say "If take this envelope iff the number of syllables is even" BEFORE counting the syllables) There's no way I could outsmart Derren Brown, so true randomness (or at least pseudo-randomness) is my best bet.
It wouldn’t really matter even if you chose randomly. It’s an old parlour trick, the mentalist part is just a distraction and to add to the spectacle. Same with his trick where he guesses which hand the coin is. But it’s a really good act.
@@thelastfeast3849 Ah, thanks for pointing this out. I should have remembered that many "mentalist" tricks are actually slight of hand sold as "mentalist"
@@lolledopke you obviously don't know derren brown ,he's only one of 5 people in the world that can read faces ,im betting you haven't seen that episode
Id love to hear Derren's Brown opinion on this new "woke" societal nonsense, Critical Race Theory, etc and especially all this nonsense about unconcious biases. I bet he'd have a lot of interesting things to say
