I lived down the street from Her on Alvin Dark street. My neighbor and I were so afraid. I told her to call me when she got home from work to meet her in the parking lot. We were all afraid to go out. We bought pepper spray. My neighbor thought she was being followed. We were so happy when he was finally caught.
They thought they were looking for a white man ♂️. Just like the Spree shooter ..that hid in the truck..while shooting people in Washington DC and Maryland .
My math teacher met this guy. He apparently offered to help her with her groceries. It still boggles her and us that her firm no was enough to deter him and not get her killed.
That's where I'm from.. he killed a girl from my high school. She was a senior when I was a freshman. I didn't know people still knew who Derrick Todd Lee is.
He’s sort of internet famous because of the police sketch they released of him. It’s one of the creepiest yet funniest police sketches I’ve ever seen and I laugh just thinking about it. I think he was also featured on the show criminal minds, but I don’t think they used his name. I think they just called him the peeping Tom killer for some reason.
@@alexburke1899 he started out as a peeping Tom in Zachary la. I currently live in Zachary but I’m from BTR. Pam lived in my moms subdivision. It was a frightening time. I’m glad he’s dead…died in Zachary hospital from heart failure. Brought him in from the prison for treatment and postponed surgeries for others to take care of HIM
@@SpicyTexan64 her name was April. She was one that was never confirmed as one of his, but M.O. was the same, alot of things were the same or very similar. Cops believed it was him, but it was never proven. We, in my little area, called him the "I-10 killer" because he used Interstate 10. Whiskey Bay, an area where he did dump bodies, is an exit right off of I-10. There's a wildlife refuge, hunting camps, camping spots, and a gun range back there. Whiskey Bay is about 30 minutes from my small town. Just like with the other Baton Rouge serial killer, Sean Vincent Gillis... the cops connected 8 women to him but believed he had more victims than that.
So why didn't they give credit to the woman who was stalked by him repeatedly and lived to tell the story, since she was the one who reported him to the hotline and they never called her back?
These cases exposed BRPD's incompetence. They're good at harassing people for victimless crimes, but will do absolutely nothing sometimes even when presented with all of the evidence they need
One of my friends said that he worked with Lee for years and the cops are wrong on who it was. I said, man all the evidence is pointing straight at him. Then he said this to me and I couldn't believe that he pulled the race card on me. He said how many serial killers have been been black? I said not many. He asked me to look it up and then tell him. Well back then there wasn't smart phones and the only way to look anything up like this was on a computer. I said ok man, but still everything is pointing to him. The DNA isn't lying on him. It wasn't soon after they made the arrest, Sean Vincent Gillis was arrested for 2 murders he confessed too. My friend called me and said, turn your TV on and see what I mean. Sure enough there was a white man being arrested and called a serial killer here too. They must have been working the same places together and now they caught a man that looked like the original sketch. In the back of my mind, I have to wonder..... Did Derrick Todd Lee really do these murders? A woman came forward that got away and pointed straight at him. I honestly believe that Lee was killing these people and there will still be a debate if he was a copycat that wanted to play out his own sick and twisted fantasy or not. All I do know is, Sean Vincent Gillis was arrested for crimes that fit the something that Lee was doing. Could they have known each other is my only question at this point. Let this be very clear. My wife was terrified everyday that she went to work and drove home to me. I don't know how it must have felt to be a woman during all this. All I knew was my wife was scared and that made me feel helpless when we weren't together. My heart goes out to everyone that has lost a loved one in some violent crime, not just these. I hope the cops catching them made peace in their hearts.
It must be really horrible and embarrassing as a parent to bring a serial killer into this world; I certainly would disown him if he was my son. And one can't but agree that the only sentence for these heinous crimes is death.
I'd be positive they would be shocked and hurt by knowing their own blood has done what he did.....most of the times they pray for the victims and their families as well....no one can possibly know what will become of theirs as an adult...not all come from dysfunctional or abusive homes....just something wrong with them.
What do you mean "one can't but agree?" I do NOT agree that the death penalty is right. If it's WRONG to kill, then it's wrong to kill. If it's wrong for Derrick Todd Lee to kill, then it's WRONG for us to kill him. If killing is wrong, then it's wrong.
@@TheVeek192 If you believe that a person should reap what they sow then if you kill someone without a just cause for so doing then you should have to forfeit your life as a consequence. This is all biblical.
That was one sick dude. These things always makes me wonder what makes people turn out like this. There should be a show about THAT as opposed to a show that is only about their heinous crime.
So when will we see self-defense as part of the school curriculum? Teach young girls how to defend themselves against this kind of evil monster. We are in an age of depravity where it needs to be ingrained in them from a young age, sadly.
@@sixthsenseamelia4695 Only psychopaths behave like psychopaths. It's hard to describe how ignorant and disgusting your comment is. You might do well to consider how many men are raised by women if you insist on your using your "logic"
@@debrap947 Why good luck? Women are largely raised by women. Are you saying most women teach their sone to behave like psychopaths? You do know psychopathy isn't taught, correct?
Wow don't leave anything negative about SERIAL KLLER Derrick Because then RU-vid sends you a message that you are cyber bullying harassing people can you believe that
@@PetloverTNno most likely he was his friend. They try to act like they have honor and other types of crimes are looked down upon…but it’s all BS. Unless you’re in state pen in CA or something
Seriously. The people who did sketches of suspects or unknown victims years ago were the most horrible "aids" to find a subject. They never ever looked like a real person. And what a terrible tool that continued to hinder investigations.
That’s why I don’t put a lot of stock in the sketches of the Delphi murderer. Police sketches are notoriously bad, a great deal of the time. I think the most accurate one I’ve seen was reconstructed entirely from DNA on a cigarette butt, surprisingly!
@@sciencenotstigma9534 so many John and Jane Does couldn't be identified by the Families for decades because of these untalented sketch artists. I can't believe Agencies actually used these photos. I seen one where the head was so thin , nose big, it didn't look human and DNA finally a hit. The family had looked at the sketches of this Jane Doe and said it wasn't their daughter over 30+ years ago. No similarities. I bet it was a scam in the industry. They would contract out an artist for thousands of tax payer dollars. I was told once Thee Biggest Money Business in Life is Death & War. Find your roll, and roll in it.
Not all. My father-in-law was a sketch artist and homicide detective for Baton Rouge Police Department, and he was good at what he did. No, he didn't sketch the picture you're referring to
I live in Baton Rouge and a month ago I’ve heard of him and I asked my parents if they knew who he was and they did and my dad said that Derrick had ruined his life
@@sumandsubstance7881 I don’t know the full story but Derrick has ruined many lives. My grandparents from my mom’s side and my dad’s side kinda personally knew him.
Not finding her keys. Pam's death was brutal. 4 hours looking for clues. Thank goodness the family found her. Never finding her would be disheartening.
I know her sister in law. Her husband and Pam's husband were brothers. The stories of what happened to the people in that family (the brothers) was just unreal. One tragedy after another. Very sad.
Bro I remember all of this stuff I lived in New Orleans and it was like every week someone was missing or had been attacked I was 14 when the finally caught his goofy ass
The thing that really sucks is that my mother was actually stalked continously by Lee and she tipped of the investigators Lee was the serial killer before the white male profile came out. If they would've listened, would have saved some lives. But notice she's not mentioned in this documentary,, wonder why smh. She also swears the missing body is under the concrete in Lee's driveway, which was never looked at.
My dad and his ex-wife had went to Mobile in 02' just to get out of Louisiana a minute and they were in downtown, looking for some clubs. My dad had ask people from there where are some clubs around the city. A Mobile resident had told him some spots and asked my dad & his ex-wife, "where yall from?" My dad replied, "Baton Rouge, LA". Mobile resident said, "oh shit, yall got a serial killer roaming BR."
I watched this case on forensic files when I was about 10 years old, it's an incredibly haunting tale of beautiful women and a monster. It sticks with me among a few other cases forensic files has covered.
Oh yes he faced what he did......he had to face his maker and He's the final and only judge .......God! His soul was condemned to hell for an eternity!😔💔So rejoice because of God omnipotent, all powerful presence!🙏🏾💜
All the victims families should seriously sue the baton Rouge police department. The incompetence is maddening and caused so many women to be beaten raped and killed.
True that sketch how could they say he was white n if the one that saw him why she didn’t know he was black if they’d put that picture out they could’ve been caught this monster RIP young ladies 😢
I've always said and do honestly believe that thise that do these crimes still reach punishment beyond the jailhouse bars....their soul still has punishment coming when they reach hell...just my opinion but I honestly believe in that.
Why start out with "I'm sorry?" What the hell sense does THAT make. You said what you said, but you apologized for it first, like, why? In case someone doesn't like what you say? You want to cover all of your bases?
If that sheriff was so confident and basically just knew it was another guy...he should have shared what he had back then si they could have at least looked into the pos Lee...could've saved other lives if they had at least confronted him and made him think about not doing anything else.....and put surveillance on him.
I remember this case, really terrifying at the time. A lot of time was wasted looking for a white man in a white van. Iirc, this was based partially on a FBI profile despite several witnesses describing a different person close to the crime scenes. The mothers of the victims got together and really pushed this case. Thank god he was eventually caught, no telling how many more women would have died.
I heard that he worked construction/cement finishing near Pams house and Pams husband was a paraplegic but that Pam had a habit of wearing revealing clothes and checking the mailboxy while the construction boys were doing their job so she would get extra attention and he mustve seen her while out on one of those jobs and she would leave keys in the door for her husband so he could get in the house easier. The other women were stalked because his wife was a mail carrier and he was controlling so he would go out with her on her routes "to make sure she wasn't cheating on him" and that's why Pam was one of the few women that was outside of his killing range; the other women lived in the LSU area. I remember Christine Moore. Her body was almost skeletonized and it was found behind a chruch on River Road during one of the hottest summers, so they didnt necessarily have evidence that he did it but we all think he did.
Was wondering about the mail carrier thing because it’s rarely mentioned. I was a student at LSU and worked on campus at the time these murders happened. One of my coworkers told me her friend’s son recognized him on TV after he was arrested and asked “why’s our mailman being arrested?” Apparently, the kid was familiar with him and had spoken to him on several occasions.
Why would anyone repeat that bullshit? Is all that to say Pam was asking for it? Disgusting. Repeating such things is further victimizing the victim & supporting the choices of a murder. You should consider the implications of this statement & delete it
Yeah you're following the correct pattern of characteristics it starts with that little stuff and he's watching them it's caught sometimes but he's going to keep on once he kills he's going to keep doing it again and again and again he'll never stop until someone stops him
Didn't they have codus or I don't know in 2003 did they because I would think they would have ran the DNA through the system but I guess not they would have had to follow the similarities and test it to potential suspects DNA but that's why I love will CODIS came in
