Really going to miss you guys… 😢 I’m listening to your music everyday of my life since I was 8 years old, today I am 33 years old and it is hurting me so much ! But I will keep listening and listening with my wife and kids until The last day of my life ! My second daughter was born with your music « with me » in the room, I will never forget that moment, thank you so much for everything !! 🙏 Can’t wait to see you in Paris in November !! 🤩 Sorry for my poor English, I’m French 😅
I'm actually here because I listened to that new girl sing for LP and I was like ".... what could've been". Derek has absolutely killed it the couple of times he's sung with LP. It didn't feel like he was trying to replace Chester and brought something a little bit different to the music in a good way.
@@joshuafurr9439 I actually like her in a studio environment and even love singing new stuff. IMO she overused harsh vocals when she performed the original LP songs. Those songs were a balance of clean and harsh vocals. Chester mastered the transitions. I’m sure she’ll grow into them overtime but I’m excited to hear the full album and other live performances.
See you in Paris in november. I cant wait. I listen Sum 41 since 2002. I was 15. Now I'm 37 and I'll see the band for the first (and unfortunately the last) time. ❤
I saw them back in January 2003 in Rezé (near Nantes, France) I was 16. 21 years ago wow. It was my first punk rock show and I had a blast. I waited there all day like the groupie I was and Derek signed my Does this look infested album jacket. I was in the front row, singing and jumping, great memories. Enjoy the show my friend, you will remember it for sure!
1:12 I wish more people understood that, you’re a dad now. I think it’s pretty clear that’s what you wanna focus on, so good luck!! we look forward to any little projects that you may announce, much love Deryck
I wish you the best for the next future, whatever it looks like. Thank you for all these years you spent making fans happy. Now it's your turn to enjoy life without pressure. And if you miss the stage someday, just pick up a guitar and sing your old classics. There will always be a bunch of crazy kids ready to listen to you, even if you are old and you don't remember your own lyrics. We won't remember them either because we'll be old too. 🤗😋
The song "Walking Disaster" has always been my favorite. My family is healing together now, but back when I was 13 to 20 it was chaotic. It's the only song that validates the emotions and views I had towards my parents back then. The fact that it's the title of the book makes me feel some type of way, I don't know how to explain it, but thank you for your music, AND I'm excited to read the book!
Thank you so much for Sum 41 and making these songs, my cousin got me into Sum 41 when we were teenagers. He passed almost 7 years ago and every anniversary I sing So long goodbye. That song is just so sweet. I also love Pieces and how in the video the truck at the end says the perfect life is waiting for you and then the F drops off so it says the perfect lie is waiting for you! Genius! Sum 41 made so many memories with my cousin and I miss him so much. 😢💔❤️🩹
You guys were my era. Great albums over the two decades 🤘🏻 can't wait to see you guys in Cardiff in November. Looking forward to reading the book 📚 much love 🤘🏻
I have pre ordered your book and I can’t wait to see you Nottingham October 30th my first concert will be your last tour thank you for all the music you have given the world
Thank you so much for your music meeting u and getting a hug few years ago made my dreams come true ill always be a fan since u started 💖 u have touched my life in so many ways xo
From your old friend and fan from Belleville, I'm hoping to be there for Jan 28th show in Toronto as that will be just 5 days after my 40th birthday and you can best believe I will have proof of purchase to get one of those signed jackets!!! However from one father and family man to another, enjoy that time with them because it passes faster than what our parents even told us it does.
I already pre ordered my copy of Amazon and am really looking forward to reading it. I’ve been a big fan since the “half hour of power” era of the band and grew up in the same town as you guys and recently moved back to the area a few years ago. Good luck with the book release and the final tour and I’m looking forward to whatever yourself and the other band members do in the future.
You were the best option for Linkin Park so that sucks. But that’s awesome, love Sum 41, good luck with the book and thanks for your hard work over the years.
I've been listening to Sum41 since I was a kid back then. Started skateboarding around the same age and now that I'm turning 30 next year I realized those were the good old days. I'll likely be listening to those songs for the rest of my life and for that I cannot say anything else than : Thank you for everything ♥ I can't wait to see you guys another time on stage... for the last time
We will see you guys in Budapest in November. Never been to your live shows yet, but I adore you since seeing the "going to the lake" scene in American Pie 2 back in the 2000s, with "Fat Lip" in it. That's one of the best songs of all time.
Been a fan since the start and preordered a signed copy. Absolutely gutted I haven’t been able to make it on your tour dates. I would if I could. Take care on the road, have the best time. Rock on 🤘🏻
@@Slypooch yes, the word "any" includes Linkin Park, considering they are band. I know comprehension is hard. He also didn't say Slipknot, Weezer, Iron Maiden, or the Backstreet Boys.
@@justinman114 i understand what any means son. You understand lying by omission or just lying until the news drops? You get that right? I don’t know why your being a dick.
Deryck, I just want to say (cold aside) you look great! Super healthy, you sound good! Just say that cause I know you've gone through some things the last few years. But you're looking and sounding amazing
I think, through all of the years I've been a fan of Sum 41, this is the first time I see Deryck on a video speaking and being himself, I don't know if I'm not such a good fan for not finding out sooner, but it's like he's way more reachable in this video than ever
Aren't they the most outspoken music ppl about which artists/celebrities they hate? Not sure which of the two was the worst regarding that. But he was often quite unfair and dissed ppl way too hard. Maybe he should've made rap music instead... Never too late.
okay guys I broke the video down at half speed and figured out that Derek is actually going on tour with led zeppelin (bonham is playing too) for a $10 ticket world tour, such a great guy, guy of the people they say.
