Does your right knee sit against the 4x4 shifter? Mine does! But I'm looking at grabbing this or the big boy brackets... thoughts?
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures Год назад
Yes my knee hit the shifter before and will hit the 4x4 shifter with the seat jackers but until I just went out there to verify I really never notice it. I looked at the big boy brackets but they seem to just give you more leg room and dont address the seat hight of the bottom cushion, i feel like i have good leg room just wanted more support under my legs which is why I chose the seat jackers and have been very happy with them, I just finished a 6000 mile trip to colorado and Utah overlanding and was perfectly comfortable. Hope that helps and thanks for checking out the channel

How close is your head to the sound bar? That is my concern.. If I get rear ended I'm going to smack the back of my head against it. I'm 6'8 btw and just picked up a 392 rubicon.
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures 2 года назад
Blake Estrada, congrats on the 392 its definitely a nice ride, your head will be close but not touching it , I am 6’9” 240 for reference and depending on how far you like to recline the seat will determine how close, i think normal positioning you will not have an issue, the last trail we did was pretty rocky with lots of side to side jerking and i didnt hit mine, now in an accident all bets are off but you have to know that going in to a jeep anyway congrats again on the purchase have fun with all that power

I just installed the jacker and slammer combo 3 days ago and still haven’t gotten it dialed in. The instructions were terrible and the seat doesn’t seem to connect to the blocks in a flush manner. I’ll be reassessing it this weekend and hopefully get it to work properly. NOT an easy job though like others have mentioned! 30 minutes? Yeah right!
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures 8 месяцев назад
I am not sure about the seat slammer combo and its installation, I only have a reference to the seat jacker to raise the front which is a simple process. I believe the slammer is for the rear of the seat to drop its height if your head is hitting the sound bar and is quite the in depth process. I am guessing you got what you installed as a package to drop the rear of the seat and raise the front as well?
@1gx619
@1gx619 8 месяцев назад
@@FischerJeepAdventures That is correct. It’s definitely more of an adventure! Too be honest I’m not really sure about how I like it yet. I’m going to work on it more this weekend and see if I can get it dialed in.
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures 8 месяцев назад
@1gx619 gotcha, well good luck with the positioning of things, at least with both options you can also try one or the other positions if both seems to not feel quite right.

I've heard that some tall people find it challenging to position their right foot during long drives on cruise control. What's your take on that? Do you feel like there is more space in front of you for your left foot vs your right foot? Has this caused problems on long drives?
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures 2 года назад
Erick, the answer is yes. I am 6’10 and all of it is challenging there is sufficient legroom for me, its not optimal but works the longest drive i have been on is 6 hours and i was pretty comfortable. The issue is more the seat than the leg room in my opinion, its just not comfortable. The seat jackers has made a huge difference in comfort for me. To the other parts yes there is more leg room for the left leg and while in cruise control i usually shift my right leg up on the seat rise so my knee is bent or i fold is to the left side where my foot faces the door and i am comfortable in that regard. I am probably on the extreme side height wise and i weigh 245 and feel comfortable in it or i would not have bought it. I hope that helps thanks for the question

@@FischerJeepAdventures thanks for the info. And in regards to safety, is the consensus basically do at your own risk? Or is there information that confirms that safety is maintained with this alteration?
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures 2 года назад
@@erickdiaz6152 yes at your own risk, the seat assembly of course is tested in its manufactured position, the introduction of the aluminum spacer and second fastener when torqued properly should retain its strength but jeep would never says its as strong as the factory mount. With that being said if you use your jeep offroad or in my case overlanding and offroad just about any modification/addition you make compromises the tested safety rating of whatever assembly you modified. Everything is a calculated risk to some degree

Can you give a little more detail on the "relief cut" you made in the carpet? What did you use to cut it?
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures Год назад
I just used a retractable snap off blade razor knife, the type that has little pieces you can break off as the tip gets dull, a utility knife with a sharp blade would work too, i made cuts on both sides of the area where the seat bracket bolts down, made the curs about 1/2 inch on each side just so i could open the carpet to slide the block in

@@FischerJeepAdventures thanks for getting back to me. Last question: do you agree with some of the comments that it would be easier to remove the seats?
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures Год назад
I do, loosing the back bolts is not enough room, you dont need to disconnect the wiring and remove the seat, you just need to remove the bolts and set it back about 4 inches thats really it, bolt in the front blocks and reinstall!! Quick job!

I have the opposite problem, I’m short (5’3”) and feel like I need to raise the whole seat up.. do you know of a way to do that? I’ve been searching and keep coming across this product but unless they can be put on the back side instead of the front to give me a good lift I don’t think its what I’m trying to find. I recently switched from a 2012 to 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I just dont find the seat is quite as high as my previous one. The height of the Jeep is one of the biggest selling points for me in general.. hate that this one isn’t fitting quite right. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures Год назад
I can imagine our struggles are similar in frustration just different in application. Best i can see most folks in your situation get a 1 inch thick block of aluminum cut into four pieces drill out a hole and then get grade 8 hardware that is an inch longer and put those blocks under the seat. You could probably take it to a local Welding shop and they could fabricate the blocks for you, if your keen to do the work yourself you can buy the aluminum bar stock on amazon and grade 8 hardware is best found at Lowe’s. Good luck

Did this increase legroom any?
@FischerJeepAdventures

It doesnt increase the leg room but makes the seating position much better by tilting the seat to support your legs. I highly recommend them

I wish you could have showed or talked about an increase/decrease head room. I'm 6'6 i want to get a Gladiator but me fitting in the vehicle is what is stopping me. I want to find a solution before I buy the jeep.
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures 2 года назад
Well i am 6’10” and my son is 6’6” 225 and he has plenty of room in his stock location. with the spacers in place i have plenty of head room, you do get a little closer to the sound bar toward the back so you should have plenty of room, my son hasnt done his seat yet but wants to just because of the comfort factor. Hope that helps

@TwinnKatz

Do these make your head sit higher though?
@FischerJeepAdventures
@FischerJeepAdventures Год назад
They don’t, the lift the front part of the seat to give your legs something to sit on but the back part of the seat is the same, so your relative head position does not change, just more comfortable for the legs
