A little desert riding outside of Palm Spring California. Trail Info: Cathedral www.trailforks.com/trails/cat... Hahn Trail www.trailforks.com/trails/hah...
What a beautiful place to ride. Clear and open. Big blue sky. Something different makes us appreciate home sometimes though right? Looking forward to more footage! Always enjoyable! You have a talent...
Who's this guy? Desert riding is so fascinating to me. All the things you mentioned but also how absolutely different it is compared to the metro trails. The trails are so different. Glad to see you back in the game.
Ha! Hopefully people haven’t forgotten me. It’s been a while. Desert riding is so much fun but I’m not sure I’d want it to be my main riding environment. I’d miss the trees.
Looks beautiful out there and I am, for whatever reason, really drawn to the idea of desert ride. I didn’t envision the big mountain climb while being doused in heavy UV rays tho. Thanks for the heads up.
Definitely worth bringing a bike along. These trails were only about 20 minutes outside of Palm Springs. Perfect for a morning ride before an afternoon of pool lounging.
Seemed like a hot spot! It’s good to get at least one of these trips in when the local dirt is in hibernation. Always enjoy a KY release, but I also get taking time away from the camera. It takes a lot of time and motivation to film and edit for minimal or in my case no $. Its a labor of love, that I’m going to try to only embrace when I’m feeling it. No sense in forcing the work with little reward IMO.
Thanks! You know, it was a really fun place to ride. I get a lot of satisfaction making these videos. Just need to get a little quicker at doing it. haha!
I was going to head down to southern Utah and Arizona this last winter, but I had had some expensive break downs with my equipment and had to help build houses and freeze my rear end off to help pay for it all.
I did fly with my bike. I have an EVOC bike bag which I've found to work pretty well. To pack it you need to remove the wheels, handlebar and stem and the derailleur (just from the hanger, the cable stays intact). It takes me maybe 20 minutes to pack and unpack. I usually fly Delta and now they treat bikes as regular luggage so no extra charges if you keep the weight below 50lbs (or 70lbs if you have Sky Priority status).
