Absolutely amazing speaker shape. I love the model. But i expected much better paint job. You could sand the first paint and than you could paint second layer and finally you could lacquer paint for the final coat. And ofcourse you could finish with final polishing. You could use cone shape stainless steel spike stands for undesired resonances. But overall good job.
I see A BUNCH of people saying alot of derogatory statements AND YET they don't even create content for others to compare to this guys work. The internet created alot of critics without a foot for them to even stand on. I like the creativity of this guy. May not be what others want but I like the fact that they are PUTTING IN THE WORK. Of course, safety first on any project. All in all .......... keep building until you find that PURPOSE which keeps you happy.
@@blessedgraphix5693 No one is stopping him - not me at least. But I am honest with him. I don't like the design and the execution is very poor. But I'm sure he will get better over time.
The sony ss M7 this is based off is considered a fantastic speaker. But yea there are better, and its not due to cabinet design that its acclaimed. I'll build a B&W 801 s2/s3 replica over an SS M7 replica but that's just me.
@@seshadrisrinath I'm pretty sure he didn't speak about the design, rather the whole assembly method, which leaves much to be desired. I assume these guys have their own limitations, but this isn't an excuse to pick a complicated build, and create it poorly. Don't get me wrong, their effort is absolutely respectable, but their work is far from professional.
Solder is meant for an electrical connection, not a physical connection. That hole on those connectors is for you to feed the wire thru to make a secure connection before you solder.
Yea, the soldering made me cringe. But hardly the only mistake. They made a lot of simple errors, like not void free plywood. The mid is sealed back so doesn't get affected by the woofer but a brace there to the back would have helped, and very poor tweeter choice. Even for the same cost, I'd have opted for a soft dome. But see I'm thinking US availability and costs, they may have a different set of variables over there.
Ok, now you only need to make a grid to cover and protect the very delicate membrane (the same membrane you used to hold the screw for the subwoofer @24:20 super LOL!) that otherwise could be exposed to the environment. Nice job!
The port was way to small for the air displacement. The components were cheesy, especially the tweeters. I do like the cabinets though. The point you made about the damping and bracing is also true. I also have to think that not much went in on the crossover.
The idea of the cabinet is beautiful but I see very serious errors: 1) the woofer and the midrange must be housed in two distinct chambers; 2) in a correct box the loudspeakers must not be fixed with wood screws but with screws inserted in metallic screw bushing for wood; 3) it doesn't seem like a good idea to join the base to the cabinet; 4) as I said at the beginning, the idea of the piece of furniture is beautiful but it is very poorly finished; 5) have you correctly calculated the right volumes for woofer and mid, the length and diameter of the reflex tuning tube and the values of the crossover components?
damn they look nice. that painted in metallic black would look amazing in my room :). Also the top triangular like shape would have been cool to put a speaker and make it directional + adjustable for dolby atmos (dolby atmos of the poor). If I ever make my own speaker cabinet, now I know what design to follow, this would look damn cool in small satellite 2-way speakers. AWESOME DESIGN!!!
Дизайн не плохой, реализация слабая. В акустике главное звук. Хорошие головки стоят очень дорого. А за 1000-1500$ есть винтаж High End класса, который новоделам не превзойти!
everything running good until minute 16.00, after that minute you could do it great not just good. A laminate of a finest wood over, metallic and gold plated speakers terminal, silk tw and so on.
I LIKE YOUR tower speakers. NICE design ,nice colour. In my opinion you should put inside better looks speakers like JBL or similiar for that creativity towers, but anyway I like it. Cheers
Mr Glue and nailer. Too bad manufactoring a little too fast, the same thing to assemble with good screws and that changes everything and more sériously.
MDF, or HDF, it makes great speaker material, its acoustically dead, but its not resistant to water and in general does not last as well overall nor does it look good without veneer or vinyl paper wood grain over it. MDF is also very heavy compared to plywood. I love plywood, and for weight, put a brick or a sand bag in the bottom.
Every speaker requires box of defined capacity to work properly. Did you count it for these cabinets? Material looks thicker than in other constructions.
With all the stuff there, maybe they have calculated the design to sound quality, I have no idea but they look damn amazing and maybe they chose thick material to make it really strong (or to be in correct tune with that speakers????? no clue). I can already imagine making my own 5 small satellites 2-way speakers (for 5.1) with this exact design and painted in metallic black, jeez would look amazing in my room, I wouldn't even mind if they sounded just ok, it's not like I would buy that much amazing and powerful speakers anyway, just some cheap ok speakers lol.
Thiết kế nhìn hay, độc mà Sơn màu lên nhìn rẻ tiền quá. Thùng loa to ngươi fta còn bắt thêm ke góc hoặc khung (để thùng loa chắc hơn, chống rung tốt hơn). Cái loa treble con chả có nhãn mác gì (hàng chợ)
GRAZIE
Unfortunately, I can almost guarantee these men don't get paid what they deserve. This is not cheap product they are producing. They put in extra care where others would cut corners. Great craftsmen who deserve more. I'd be honored to get an enclosure built by them.
Craftsmen know how to work with their stuff. Working with a top router in such an agressive way is dangerous af. Craftsmen also know that they have to spread the glue and let it soak for a minute to get a nice and airtight joint. Also: cutting a circle in this thickness with a circle cutter for plastic is just dumb
@@kkpiemels3113 The cabinet is still pretty good for being built with basic tools. The prefabricated crossover really is the worst part here. Those things never sound good and might even cause damage.
@Fuzzy Knuckle Now that I've been woodworking for a few years and built my own box for a Skar VXF 15 after watching this I now get what you guys are saying. Besides the obvious, they will probably fall apart in no time. I will say though, they probably get paid shit $. If you pay people shit $ they will produce shit products.... plain and simple.

i think i read in the past that plywood is not adequate for loudspeaker boxes, because it adds its own tonality, which you **never** want, because it is not part of the music,it is a booming noise, and always the same, like a drum; you should use Particle Board only; anyone can confirm this?
