I'm not a large scale designer or in school. I'm a home sewist who is tiny, skinny and petite in every single way. Absolutely nothing on this fast fashion planet fits me unless I shop in the LG girls section. Which was fine in my 20s,getting weird in my 30s and now I'm almost 45 and it's absolutely unacceptable. Lol so I started sewing 4 years ago. I bought Helen Armstrongs book 4th edition, a straight stitch machine and a serger. That's all I've needed so far. And I enjoy some hand sewing. So I look to you to have a cohesive wardrobe that looks like I had it made by a tailor. And so far so good. I design my seasonal wardrobe 2 seasons before and I watch recaps of my favorite designers and then I draft up some patterns and make it happen. This channel is worthy of its entirety being behind a pay wall. I'm glad it's not but that's how highly I recommend it to anyone needing expertise. Love love love this. Thank you Zoe!

I never went to fashion school, I used your videos for 2 years to teach myself the art of fashion design I’m now a full time designer at a local fashion house, and moving slowly into making my own line I love you Zoe, thank you for helping me design a life of my own

@@bitanouparvar4432 have you heard of JPG’s story? I basically followed that haha I put together a portfolio with a bunch of designs (about 70% sketches, 20% drapes and 10% full looks) and just sent it to a bunch of local designers. I told them I wasn’t looking for a job (genuinely wasn’t), and that I just thought these designs were worth bringing to life and they could have it Only 2 houses got back to me out of about 40, but one offered me a job! These days you’re pretty much guaranteed a job by doing the work as if you already had the job then giving it to people vs formal CV route - good luck ♥️

@@bitanouparvar4432long story short I had a collection of stuff I wanted to make but didn’t have the resources to do it myself > sent it to a bunch of designers and got lucky eventually - no CV or any prior design experience haha

Continue to love this ZHF series.Consider making a video on which principles most often lead people to think they don't understand fashion. Ambiguity is definitely one of them. I don't understand the why behind what I'm looking at, therefore, I don' like it. The sketch book should make an appearance in every video.

Hello Zoe! I am considering taking your fashion courses on Patreon and I would like to know exactly what classes I should be taking to further my design/alterations business. I have been working as a tailor for the past year and I really want to get into design. Currently, Im working on my website that will offer both alterations and sustainable custom design services. Since I never went to design school I need to teach myself design principles and methods to be able to offer clothing design to my clients.
