Hello everyone! In today's video, we'll be talking about a few of my favorite must-have designer coffee table books...the best 5 of my coffee table book collection thus far!
I'll give you tips on where to buy these designer books and ways that you can save by purchasing them at affordable retailers like HomeGoods, HomeSense, Amazon, and eBay instead of luxury retailers like PotteryBarn, Restoration Hardware, or Crate & Barrel.
I'll show you what's behind the cover of the mainstream favorites like Louis Vuitton: The Birth of Modern Luxury, Tom Ford, Vogue: The Shoe, The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk, and Jean-Michel Basquiat and the Art of Storytelling. Yes 🙌🏼 I love these books so much that I sacrificed a page here or there so that myself and others could admire them everyday! The images are just too beautiful to sit behind a closed cover on a shelf 😍

Wow, LOVED this❣️ I’ve been needing a video like this as I begin my own collection of coffee table books. Your own collection is absolutely amazing Beau❗️😌🙌🏼 I’ve noticed not many, if any at all have the Gucci coffee table book. I just nabbed mine on Amazon recently. Saw it on TJ Max’s website a couple of months ago for $59.99. But didn’t get it, to my regret. But Amazon’s price was just as great and decided not to sleep on it any longer. ☺️👍🏼 I just ordered the Louis Vuitton book and can’t wait to receive it in the mail. My am definitely inspired and what a beautiful collection. My two favorites were Vogue, the shoe 👠 and Basquiat. Will keep my eyes open around the holidays. Thank you, Joana! I’m so glad you found this video to be helpful in your search 🙌🏼✨ I have the Catwalk Louis Vuitton book (orange cover) amongst others. I prefer the Assouline, Taschen, and Rizolli branded coffee table books for their content (images tend to be a bit better) but really, it’s all about price point for me - I have amassed this collection of books at $34-50 a piece with the exception of just a few special books like Tom Ford, the Louis Vuitton book I showcased here, etc. I also prefer books of a larger size when necessary, so it’s a bit of a toss up! I appreciate you subscribing and supporting my channel 🙏🏼✨

I know you just started thrifting, so check out coffee table books as well when you go. I collect vintage art coffee table books and some fashion. I've gotten them all at thrift stores. Also regarding framing,...your walls are beautifully curated.. Another "upscale upcycle"...I get gorgeous, sometimes blingy Papyrus brand greeting cards (Target has a great selection) and put them in picture frames, sans the glass. They are like little peices of unique, easy artwork for display.. Your coffee table book collection is outstanding, just like you.

I have been on the hunt for coffee table books at my local Goodwill location(s) but have not found one yet...but I hold out hope, so thank you for motivating me, Beth! I love the idea of using greeting cards in frames, too! It really is a unique way to showcase art and elements we like for a reasonable price! Thank you for the compliment regarding my collection, it has taken some time but I am so pleased with what I’ve created ☺️🙏🏼

I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🙌🏼 nice to hear that you scored a couple busts on FBMP however I have never upcycled a bust, the color of mine is what they came in and all are in varying shades of whites, creams, and ivory. I personal have only used white spray paint once and I used the Rustoleum 2-in-1 paint and primer in a flat white. It’s a stark white though, so keep that in mind!

Beau, thank you for sharing some of your favorites. I found the Basquiat book at Target for $22.99. I actually don't mind nudes if they are tastefully done. I tell my kids the human body is beautiful and God made us perfect like works of art. I think most adults see nudes and think sex while kids may see it and think "that person needs to put some clothes on." 😀 I do have semi-nude art, that I got while pregnant, of a mom nursing her baby. It meant a lot to me as a new mom and my girls are ok with the imagery. Since I have little ones, I use reference books as coffee table books. I have some with beautiful photos of architecture, nature, art etc. My eldest would like some with editorials but I think her shopping list would grow astronomically since she is a fashionista. Coffee table books are something no one ever talks about. Your collection is phenomenal. I recently found one that contains covers from The Saturday Evening Post. I love it! My favorites are Ralph Lauren and one I have about the American Revolution . The funniest one I own is The Big Penis Book by Taschen. My aunts gave it to me for my 40th birthday. And yes they do come in all shapes and sizes. 🤣. Trust me, it’s quite the conversation piece. I usually only bring it out when my “up tight” friends are stopping by. 🙄

I feel in this niche there are a select few that are consistently making the rounds, but as you’ve said, there are hundreds of thousands out there and I just think they are so incredible! Like a museum of glossy pages that anyone could get lost in for hours 😍 it sounds like you have quite a few I need to look out for! And though it may not be safe for work, I have definitely skimmed through said book and can attest to your statement. ALL shapes and sizes, indeed! 😆 I love that you said your aunt’s gave it to you, are they a couple or sisters?

My mother is a sweetheart and has never had an issue with my orientation but she is 3 steps away from being a Nun. You should have seen the look on her face.

Yes! It’s definitely been making the rounds for decades 🙌🏼 I think every few years people gain a new appreciation for it as it cycles once more through a new outlet
