They get us all hyped up about them and then they move on 😂 I can't keep up and I'm getting off the train lol. Flowerbomb is still in my top ones of all time! They just don't make them like they used to anymore!
I'd LOVE to have a meeting of the Perfume Snob Club (ew. psc sounds like a horrible disease!). Oh, memories of the normal people...You're the BEST, Christie!!! 🙃
I wore Liz Claiborne Curve and the Body Shop White Musk in my youth but then I didn't wear perfume for decades! Then in my late 30s I came across Black Opium and the addictive scent consumed me and it started this hobby/obsession of mine. Then I found FumeTube and by that time Black Opium was the perfume everyone wanted to hate on. 😂 I don't really wear Black Opium anymore...but I think there's a reason it took people by storm. I tend to get sick of sweet scents quickly when I wear them but I love sniffing the caps. I think I know what you mean when you talk about certain sweet scents creating a pleasure blocker. And there was so much more to love about this video!! You really make me smile. After 4 years working solely from home, they are calling us back to the mother ship later this year. You make me excited to do my hair and makeup again. 🥰
Hi Amanda! It's so lovely to have you here! I remember the bottle for Curve, and we ALL wore Body Shop White Musk at some point, eh? I love that a scent we share is what spawned your love for fragrance again. (Also, re: "FumeTube" - you are LITERALLY the best!!! You made ME smile!) Oh wow. Are you ready to go back??? That's going to be an adjustment for sure after four years of working from home where, often (for some people) pants are optional. I love to do hair and makeup and fragrance because it makes me feel good.I hope that YOU feel good when you return to the world of going out of the house to work. Are you allowed to wear fragrance where you work? I'm wondering what your first day scent will be if you're allowed????
@@ScentSiblingsDotCA We have a scent aware policy...try to keep your fragrances on the lighter side and no spraying in the bathroom 😄 I have no idea what I'll wear because we probably aren't going back until the Fall in my region. We are having a false Spring in Southern Ontario and so I'm dreaming of my fruity and fresh scents and ignoring that we are expecting snow again next week 😊
@@amandahobbes9831 A scent-aware policy is the most civilized thing I've ever heard of! Very progressive! I love autumn...so many lovely fragrances to wear. I hear you about craving the fruity and fresh scents these days. Our winter was so mild, and then last week and this week we've had blizzards and ice storms. I'm SO over it!
Yes, it's been such a mild winter and yet we still have the nerve to be over it. 😂 I just keep reminding myself that it's only March and it's supposed to be cold.
Flowerbomb is actually one of those that I don't love when I sniff the bottle, then I wear it and then I'm in love in the drydown with that sweet musky feel... I'm basic, I love it. 😂
I remember you telling me that you used to wear it to the lab I think. I wonder if the reason I associate it with s*x is because people talk about it that way, so I do too? I mean, it's perfectly lovely. Why WOULDN'T we wear it to work? Some day I'll figure out what sexy means.
Black Opium demands such a visceral response, eh? Like, we LOVE it, and then we HATE it. Bravo, really. How many fragrances can make that claim? Thanks for the kind words - I really was trying!
Isn't it amazing how many fragrances come and go in fragcomm circles? I still enjoy most of these, especially Flowerbomb and La Belle! 😊 Nothing wrong with loving what you love. YOLO!
YOLO is for sure! You're the most open-minded (nose-ed?) person on FumeTube. I so admire that about you. Your tastes are genuinely so eclectic that you find something postive, and more importantly TRUE, to say about almost every fragrance. I aspire to that level of non-snobbery!!!
Hi back, my beautiful friend. I can see wearing FB to bed! There's something so lovely about it. I'm so glad I hauled it out from the depths of the designer dungeon that is my top perfume shelf! I shall be wearing it more often, and thinking of you!! xo
I'm so glad I did this video because honestly, these fragrances deserve better! Well, the ones I don't hate, that is. I really do think that there's an element of snobbery in my perfume tastes, though. I suppose it comes from feelings of lack in my youth. I'm a grown a$$ adult now and I don't have to buy the least expensive clothes or items on the menu (or fragrances) any more. But that doesn't mean I have to shun hot dogs (or designer fragrances!). I want to be more open-minded, and this video opened my eyes to that! :)
Oh, GON........I guess my expectations were just over the top. I found it screechy sharp, no dry down on me. I was so glad I only had a sample. But, I am STILL curious about the pineapple flanker. It will remain a curiousity! I'm done...... You looked beautiful every day; STOP TEMPTING ME to return to the haircut you have. It took me too long to grow out the layers. That cut is so ez to maintain, always looks great! Francine ❤❤❤❤❤❤
You described La Belle to a Tee ,I sold mine and got a good price for it ! LMAO panties wadded up in your Handbag had me almost choke on my coffee My daughter in law has my Girl of Now You are pure joy to my soul Love you beyond this universe ❤
I'm glad you got a good price. I know that it's some folks' favourite, and I can see why. Some days I can almost find a reason to justify keeping it. I love knowing you're here with me as you're drinking (or, as the case may be, spitting) your coffee. :) You're joy to MY soul, and I love you fiercely!!! xo
Awww, there you are “perfume in my car”🚗 looking gorgeous as ever!! OK, not sure how it’s happened, but notwithstanding the 10ml travel sz bottle of D&G LBlue (archived in a drawer), I have none of these. I do however share the same experience with vodka …actually I STILL stay away from it - tequila, too. Might be because, packed away with them is where I’d like to keep the related untold stories of my youth?😉 I do ‘get’ the jist of this tho… I just ‘had to have’ quite a few fragrances that after our initial affair, have since sat lonely. I’m tracking my daily use of my collection in 2024 tho and, hopefully with the change of seasons, summer social gatherings, travel, etc my interest in them will return?? Tracking will tell. And then there will be more lessons learned🤔 I’ve lately found myself feeling ‘not in the mood’ to buy more perfumes, while also buying more perfumes - because collecting is addictive. It’s an odd contradiction of feelings & weird place to be in. I’m not buying niche or super pricey things, tho. Yet.❤ Thanks for bringing us another fun & thought provoking upload, my fragrant friend!🥰👏👏👏
You have none of these??? Gasp indeed! And as for vodka and the memories of you, I'm with you 100% my sister! Ugh. I love that you're tracking your daily use! I think if I ever get me sh*t together I will do that, too! So many lessons to be learned. I relate 100% to "I've lately found myself feeling 'not in the mood' to buy more perfumes, while also buying more perfumes"!!! I'm being good (for the most part) and haven't purchased anything 'expensive' for a long time. :) Thanks for hanging out with me today, Corina! You're so wonderful to me!!! xo
Never owned Flowerbomb. Then again, I only got into fragcomm about 4 years ago. Yes, I’m one of those cliche people who went down the rabbit hole during Covid. LOL! On the other hand, I DO have Black Opium and love it. I also have LVEB, which so many people diss. 😂❤
Emy. You're my scent sister and my earring twin. :) I KNEW that if you saw them you'd love them. You're more of a gold than silver earring kind of gal though, right?
It is so wonderful to see you here! I often think about this very thing you’re talking about - why do perfumes seem to fall out of favor (what seems) so quickly? I think once we explore niche it becomes more enticing bc we are all looking to smell exquisitely unique and there’s a much better chance you won’t smell like half the population if you’re wearing niche. That being said, I still go back to a lot of my favorite designer fragrances( Hermes eau de citron noir, Prada infusion d’oiellet, NR pure Musc) ❤
I’ve never owned any of the Flowerbombs or GON. My husband loves his Victor & Rolf’s and so do I. I’m a Stan for Light Blue. It will probably last into eternity because I only wear it on occasion.
Hi Faith. Which one does he have? Is it Spicebomb? Ryan likes that one, too. I do really love the scent of Light Blue, and I hope I reach for the hair and body spray more this summer.
I never owned the original Black Opium and am not sure how much I would like it, but Black Opium Le Parfum is such an amazing vanilla scent so I am hoping to get some soon-ish!
Barb! That's the coolest comment for this video!!! I wonder if you'd like Light Blue. It's fresh and musky and citrus-y and a mass-appealing scent for sure. I just love that we have or had all of these in common. Hurrah!
Hello Scent Sister!! 😍❤❤ No I never did have Flowerbomb! ..by the time I got into fragrance, I felt like I was late to the game so I was trying everything all at once (well over the course of a few months) and so it didn't stand out from all of the other sweet designer scents that I was binge-smelling. 😅 And same with Black Opium, although I do own Le Parfum version!
@@ScentSiblingsDotCA Well, the Le Parfum version is very sweet and vanilla-y for sure, (In my top vanillas video I compared it to cotton candy made from molasses.. and no it didn’t make the top 5, I just did a dessert comparison recap of 12 vanillas at the end) 😅 It reminds me a LOT of Armani Code Cashmere, but that’s discontinued and you may not know what it smelled like.. Ok so I don’t love the original it’s a little too generic or something- and comes across slightly sharp a bit like hairspray, so I like Le Parfum better 🥰🖤
Tbh if ppl don’t like what you’re wearing they can turn their heads, folks do it so often when they see what they don’t like they can very well do it once more 😂
Hello my lovely new friend. (I've looked on your videos, but I can't find your name. And if you've told me it before, I have to apologize - my memory is really failing me in these years of maturity!) It's true that people can turn away from what they don't want to hear. I wish it were that easy for people to get away from scent. :(
I’m team LVEB. Gave the OG to my housekeeper because she loved it so much. It’s almost an auto buy with all the flankers coming out. I love it and no shame about it! 😉
NO SHAME! I joke, of course, about all the Black Opium stuff. Fragrance is so personal and so...intimate, really. I remember how much I loved LVEB and how many compliments I got with her. Have you tried the Le Parfum?
It certainly isn't for everyone, but it sure was popular, eh? I actually DO enjoy it. It was so nice to revisit some of these! Thanks for joining me on the way to work this morning!
I don't think about the ones I decluttered. They were decluttered for that reason. I do think that we are on to the next new thing and our taste changes quickly. My time with fragrances has grown shorter though if I've given them a good run.
You're so much more decisive than I am, Kia! I never know if I've made the right decision. I wonder if the reason we're just on to the next thing so quickly (comparatively, of course) is because we're aware of all the choice and we're sure that the NEXT one will be THE ONE? But then we realize that there will never, ever BE a THE ONE, because the NEXT ONE will always come along. It's like house renovations or going down the plastic surgery and/or procedure (or even tattoo) rabbit hole. It's always the next one. Thank goodness, really. Gives us something to look forward to. :) I love having you here. Thanks for being so present, my friend. I appreciate you so much!
I really was keen on it. I think it's one of the only florals that I enjoyed back in the day. But then again, there wasn't much else to compare it to. I do still like it, though. Weird.
Hi Kellergirl! I guess I was making a broad and sweeping generalization there. I'm sure there are millions of people who have never owned these. Sweet fragrances don't appeal to everyone. Thanks for taking the time to comment here! Hope to see you again. :)
Good morning Flowerbomb was a tad much for me. Dressed very well for Black Opium. It is a very very good one 🖤😍 one we share yey. Yes I do love it 😉. And haha 😂 yes it's not quite the same, it's silky and smooth and finished I guess. Where as BO is a little more fun and happy too somehow. LVEB probably not my fave. Hypnotic Posion, I'm with you 😂 it's not my favourite either it's too almond. A bit extra coffee with Black Opium will work very well 😆 oops. The D&G sounds OK. Girl of now was a tad on the sweet cray cray side for me 😅. A great little car chat
Good morning to you! You poor bastard: judging from your comment you sat through this whole video! That's probably a first on my channel. Most of what I say I don't even pay attention to. So thank you for that. I'm so glad we share BO!
@@ScentSiblingsDotCA oh come on Julija 🤣 what's my Jon scent? It's not what anyone would call refined now... Ah behave we all love your videos all the way to the end. Tho this one did end very abruptly 🤣
Ok Light Blue I do have that one! I almost decluttered it but it's just so good in the air.. that sillage! I smelled it on someone else, and I realized I couldn't let it go! 😊❤ Crystal Noir will always be a love for me! I'll see you next week at the perfume snobs anonymous meeting! 😉🤣🫶🏼
Ramble Tamble! Hello! I agree 100% that Light Blue smells amazing in the air...for all of the brief mintues it hangs there. I love that you love Crystal Noir. I wonder if I can interest you in a bottle of Aoud Orchid which I suspect you'd like, too. Let me know. See you at the meeting! xo
