Please keep the requests coming, honestly I really need them. I'll certainly put sci-fi weapons and vehicles sounds on the list, I've actually been working on some robot sounds so I have some ideas I could use. Working on setting up car engine sounds that change as the car accelerates, so might be a while yet. But hopefully that video won't be too long away.

I'd like to hear this too, I'm thinking Bladerunner sci-fi vehicles.

Yeah fair point. Whilst at the time of making this I liked the rough and nasty distortion that came with the stretching, in hindsight it does make it sound very unnatural and rather messy with all those added artefacts. There are definitely better ways of getting more low end and weight out of the sounds. Probably wouldn't do the same thing again in that sense if I gave this another go. Thanks for pointing this out for others!

Thanks for your reply and I'm no troll or hater. I just have dabbled with some audio myself and I've stretched and pulled and shifted and butchered stuff and that aliasing, phase shifting stuff is something I try to avoid and some stretch methods seem to work better than others. I don't know products but I know concepts and what I've doone sometimes to get a deeper sound with pitching is to just pitch it down w/o trying to keep the timing the same. That isn't always going to work if you can't have something that lasts longer. But yeah, you had to pitch that down some to add some deepness. So many ways you can make sounds. You could have growled into a mic and blended that in. hehe I was just recently thinking about the Godzilla "roar" (more of a huge screech/roar to me) and how it was done. The orig, not the recent ones. It sounds like some elephant trumpet at the start or balloon screech which blends into some roar then ends with an upward deep double bass groan. I think there are three distinct layers in that. Then it's so metallic sounding overall. So, that's how I arrived at your vid. :) I was wondering if I could create that sound from scratch (more or less) using those 3 basic sounds. Thanks for taking the time to explain how you got your sound and for being cool with my observation. It's just that I have dabbled so much on my own that when I hear phasing or anything resembling aliasing.. I just go NOOOOOOO! in my mind. hahahahha Unless it's a phase shifter effect on a guitar or keyboard. Well, then I go hellz yeah!

It's alright I don't think you're trolling haha, thanks for the comment. Can't remember if I said this in the video or not but I wanted to set myself a challenge where I only used balloons and didn't record anything else, hence why I stretched a lot of the sounds for the low rumbly part. Otherwise yeah, I would have recorded myself roaring or used an animal sample or something else. And the original Godzilla roar is sooooo good considering how simple the source of the sounds where and the result they got from them.
