Love this video, I've never thought about how useful high frequency mics could be.

Doesn't take too long for you to realize this guy knows what he's talking about when it comes to sound design and microphones. This guy doesn't fuck around when it comes to quality.

Great stuff. Don't judge people when they make funny sounds - they must just be working, and will soon become monsters ;)

25:19 "I have to disappoint you" Hey I guessed that sound number one was made of human sounds, you can clearly hear the animal quality in sound number two.

Coming back to this after a while, I would say that, while Zynaptiq Morph is pretty dope, I think Melda's MMorph is superior. I think the former works on band vocoding while the latter works on FFT spectral analysis. Similarly, a spectrum analyzer is super important. I found that Ableton's freq shift colors the sound alot whereas FL and Melda's Frequency Shifts don't.

I just use Dehumaniser II as a shortcut, it's real easy to create your own demonic dialogue, but you have to over-articulate your words. Go Krotos! 😎 And of course it's also great for creature sound design in general.

Awesome talk! less serious note: there really is no dignity in this stuff is there, hours of wet fart noises and growling to yourself with a microphone lol
