Hi! Do you have an update on your renovation?? I love your mood board designs. I would love to see how it turned out! Please post completed reno video!
Hopefully the design will turn out as how you like. It is a bit pricy and rare to pay that much of $$ invested in basement and live there in Canada. Just make sure the insulation is good and is not freezing and wet in winter.
Yes it is a big investment but most of it went to the cabinets and washroom stuff and considering I'm probably moving in the future lol but it's okay, atleast I get to enjoy it. And I'm sure in the future when I sell it, it will make the house sell faster if I don't charge people premium for the basement reno.
I like the idea for barn doors because you'll have more space and won't have to account for leaving space open for swinging doors. Also, you should do the sauna. $5k doesn't even get you a Chanel bag anymore and a house with a sauna would be so luxurious!
haha yes barn doors save a lot of space. So I actually couldn't sleep deciding if I should keep the steam room, and then I researched online and it doesn't help you loose weight, so I was like...oh...f* that then lol. Originally I liked the idea that I would just sit in there for 30min a day to loose weight, but I guess it doesn't do that at all lol
I like Home Society (I bought my house stuff for the basement and office etc there and then my upstairs from restoration hardware but i think home society looks more modern now days vs. RH). Elt Market is okay too but I think Home Society is better quality even if you buy same level price stuff. CB2 and stuff is more like not so comfy and furniture for looks. Don't go to structube or mobilia b/c it's really poor quality.
swing doors for the closet is better imo! I have sliding doors to my closet and its such a pain sliding it every time I enter. I tried adding oil to it and it returns to the same state after a new months. sliding doors also diminish the open concept idea as it does blocks off space.
Yeah I was thinking about the sliding issue too. My contractor initially said pocket doors would be okay for 5 years haha and then it's really hard to use. The only thing that I was worried is that swing doors cannot be fully opened into the closet b/c it will hit the cabinets sigh
ugh wood really is so expensive now, so costly to do reno and also furniture. everything is so delayed. do you have stores you recommend for home decor? vases?
I know, I just ordered cabinets and prices went up 70% from what I got quoted earlier this year lol. I like home societe, they have expensive to cheaper pieces and their pieces are pretty good quality. The more back you go the cheaper it gets haha
nope he will probably stay upstairs lol. I think the basement is like our flat and I think it will be like a nice work space for me as well so I have the separation from the kid
haha I like all styles as long as they are done nicely but I prefer ultra modern for living, I like super empty spaces that look like show space or a cave lol
@@HeyChenny so little! It would easily be x5 that amount here for us in Australia (even with the conversion) PLS go through a detailed budget as you progress with your reno. That would be very interesting to watch and follow. Bless u hun
