I picked up on that also. I'm sure the coaching staff has. Maybe that's why Smith hasn't pulled him yet. It would shatter Ridder's confidence. Smith knows it's mostly his fault too because Rid didn't get the reps he needed and the chance to make mistakes in the preseason.

The coaching is terrible, and we know Ridder is trash. Arthur Blank needs to sale the team because I think he is incompetent as an owner. Just look at the people he hired to run the team.
Arthur Blank , Smith, especially Fontenot say Ridder is their guy and has a bright future. They literally flushed Matt Ryan hoping to get Deshaun Watson then drafted Ridder as the future. So the future is here, and the future is Ridder.
Arthur Smith naming Desmond Ridder the starter without so much as a competition in OTA’s was mistake #1. After watching Ridder perform (or lack there of) through 4 weeks of the season, it’s clear the young man is not fit to be a starter in the NFL. I understand the offensive line play, but these throws and his decision making is horrendous. Unfortunately, AS pride won’t allow him to make the necessary change at QB that’s needed, so Falcon Fans get comfortable ~ it’s going to a Long Season
I tried to tell everyone before last year, that with the RARE exceptions of the Russell Wilson's and Bradys of the league, YOU DONT DRAFT YOUR NEXT FRANCHISE QB IN THE 3RD ROUND!!! If memory serves, everyone was ready to run Matt Ryan out of town for the same bullshit, yet the difference between Matt and Des, is that Matt is/was a seasoned passer and Ridder isn't and reality check, Matt and Des have basically the same O-line (Matthew's, Lindstrom and McGary) so what's everyone's excuse now?? We ran a 14 year former MVP and franchise veteran out of town for the same shit we're bitching about Ridder for. And I firmly believe, that even though Matt was at the back end of his career, that had we held on to him for one more year, then he would've completed the passes that Mariota and Ridder didnt and wouldn't gotten us a few more wins and possibly a WC if not the division title! But.....well never know. Ridder isn't the answer and I tried to tell everyone that last year bc your franchise QBs don't come fronthe 3rd round!!!

I hope we let Desmond Ridder start the whole season, and hopefully, we will go 2-15 and draft Caleb Williams. Look at what CJ Stroud is doing in Houston. The Falcons aren't going anywhere with Heinke either except for a 7-10 record, which is just like the Falcons. Well get get a pick 8-13 and draft another player that we dont need in the first round. Hes regressing and needs much better protection than hes going to get. Not ready imo, if Ridder plays the same next week, since hes never lost a home game, get Taylor in there second half or at least next game because we should be winning with what we have, defense was the concern. Lotta quality qb's next draft and we gotta bunch of available cap this offseason to keep improving our 8th ranked defense.

Ridder definitely has to develop more to be a top 15 QB in this league. His reps look so inconsistent. His release, footwork in the pocket, and his vision is lacking. The number of pre-snap reads/adjustments he makes at the line are impressive to his study, but the talent for delivering the ball is off. All of that to say, no QB can hang behind this Offensive Line right now. Brady would be ripping Tackles and Guards for making him so vulnerable from play-to-play. The OL needs some adjustments desperately.

Can't believe one year later the Falcons are again on the hunt for a QB. Ridder ain't it ! I was high on this guy to replace Mariotta last year but when I saw the games he played in last year I went ice cold on him. You can't be a "GAME-MANAGER" for an entire season no matter how many weapons you surround him with. The guy is a liability and he affects the entire team!

I agreed Untill u said he got sacked most of the time because he hold the ball to long. Not true. Pass blocking was still terrible all 4 weeks. But he did have terrible throws too. The WRs not getting open like other teams do. Look at the rams them WRs not that good. But they have play calling that have them running wide open across the field. All alone, and A.S I can’t stand his play calling. He will mess momentum’s up. We will be driving and he either will throw on a 1st down when we should run or when robinson start killing them he take him out. Throwing on the goal line. 4 plays in row. Can’t blame only ridder some of the play calls are just bad. The pick when he was throwing to London he ran a terrible route. An the pick throwing to Pitts he could’ve jumped in font of the safety an been gone. Sometimes u have to be QB friendly
Ridder is Not the guy. He looks like a deer caught in the headlights. He holds the ball too long, he can't read a defense, and his accuracy is pathetic. Even his team mates see it. Look how pissed off Mack Hollins was when Ridder tried to shake his hand after missing him wide open. The O line isn't gonna block hard for a guy they know won't get rid of the ball either, why block your ass off if he's gonna hold it too long and get sacked anyway? The team has given up on Ridder and it's time Aurthur Smith does too.
Dude is only the first quarter of the season and you already saying bench Desmond Ridder. It’s a good thing you’re not the HC because he could’ve performed even worse if you’ve been looking around the league and you’ve been looking around pass QBs that been struggling their first and second year. I really think Ridder is still in college football mode. He has not put in the work in the film room to get up to speed with the more advanced and complicated Pro Football Game plans and opponent planning. His Development was hindered last year granted but he is developing slow and that means he should be on the sideline with a clipboard. Ridder is not playing at NFL Speed. There is no way they can hang with this for 13 weeks like they did Mariota last year.

Guys no way, a rookie made rookie mistakes, 4 games last year filling in for mariota having a knee surgery dont really count, this is gonna or supposed to be his first full season. QB is the hardest position for a reason, rn he needs time to develop, josh allen was literally ass his first season, he had more ints than tds, Desmond ridder can be the guy if he develops properly and gains confident, does he have issues yes, im not trying to make excuses for his performance today it was terrible and we have every right to be mad, but ik when he gets a grove going he makes tds like how after he threw 2 ints he came back first drive and scored a td. Was it too soon for him to be starting, maybe but the bandaid is ripped off so we have to go through it with the bad and good times, just think if we make a switch at qb what good does that do for us, what team does good with 4 qb changes in 3 years???

The O-line isn’t doing that badly honestly. Desmond has no pocket awareness, no ability to read coverages, and no ability to throw consistently accurate passes. Those are the 3 things all QBs need and he’s laughable in every aspect. Easily the worst qb in the nfl and it ain’t even close, Zach Wilson made him look like a chump tonight with his play
The bottom line is this season is a guaranteed loss with ridder. We have all the evidence we need at this point. As a leader as a coach. Do not wait until the hole is to deep to climb out. Make the necessary adjustments to put your team and players in the best situation to succeed. You at least owe them that.

it's really hard to say he's not holding the team back when he has 0 pocket presence which leads to him taking the most egregious sacks, he consistently stares his wrs down which is starting to lead to ints as expected, and the worst offender is him straight up not being able to read the field, when someone is wide open deep he checks it down because he just can't go through his progressions. i had hope for ridder having a cinderella story career, but it's dwindling more and more.
Man,...Its The Offensive Coaching Staff!!...If they are professionals then they should recognize the Team weaknesses and make adjustments. Clearly it's the OL and QB. Therefore, A West Coast Offense will solve all of the Falcons Problems. The ball comes out quicker and the OL doesn't have to hold the block that long!!...
Arthur Smith will be making a bad situation worse if he allows CJ Stroud to come to town and outplay Ridder in the Benz...make the move to Heinicke now, or lose the entire locker room
If they give him a few more games and he still hasn't improved, it'll too late for Heinecke to salvage the season. At that point, just keep Ridder in, bottom-out, and draft Caleb Williams.
i dont like what he is doing but he is figuring it out. all this is a learning lesson. by mid season no later than 12 games he should develop. you cant give up too soon. he sat 1 year behind Mariotta. he isnt developed and hasnt had a decent mentor. it could be the coaches fault as well as the play calling.

Honestly, I’d like to see Arthur Smith gone before we give up on Ridder. I know he has not shown a lot, but I feel like that’s on Arthur. Plus, he is not the only problem, our playcalling is awful and our offense is designed to run the ball and somehow we only ran the ball 22 times today. The O line also can’t pass protect.

Every team the Falcons face is going to FORCE Ridden to throw & not let the Falcons RBs win the game.
