That's why some of us thought this game had more to it than just "some cannibal girl is ruling with an iron-fist, despite her being very cuttable". We're used to things being hard to kill if they're that much trouble to be around.
@@ArfyWarf I just think the sprite artwork is better made than the actual drawings. It looks extremely amateur and is very off-putting, not something that would be put in the final works of a game. And its a bit odd considering its usually the other way around in most games that require sprite work to be done. This person is obviously extremely talented when it comes to sprites, but their free-hand drawing just throws off the professionalism of their sprites.
@@ArfyWarf isn't being disrespectful tho, it's just true. The art looks like it was sketched and then colored over with how messed up the lines are and the fact that you can see the transparent line that was used for the base for the body. you really shouldn't not expect someone to call out how weak the artwork looks compared to the sprite when you make a game.
ZeonTwilight Always carry a knife. You never know when you'll need it. That's two RPGs now that tell me it's perfectly fine to carry knives around and stab someone, cos they had harmful intentions.
Damn role-players... I hear they've improved their tactics, every year they gather at conventions to abduct defenseless manga and doujins for their savage consumption. They even broadcast twisted representations of their victims on TV and the internet to hypnotize humans into joining their lunatic ways... they call it... _Anime_... *gasp*.._by gods! it's too late for us!_
"You can ask for help from Adam, b-but don't trust him TOO much" *Adam proceeds to never give you a reason not to trust him* Edit: I guess to be fair, the game was made for a gamejam, and in that case it's not too bad. I think the update later down the road could definitely improve a lot of things (beyond grammar and exposition dumping.) -If it's supposed to be a twisted kind of Animal Crossing homage, I'd like to see more characters in the town, others that the primary antagonist has shanghaied and manipulated or outright tortured into submission. -It would be even better, then, to be able to spend a little time in the cute, cheerful town getting to know the neighbors as you try to balance taking the drugs that make you see animal-folk with not taking the drugs so you can see clearly enough to arrange your escape. -A more complex story involving figuring out who you can and cannot trust in town based on their backstories, instead of relying purely on Rabbit-Adam to guide you (maybe at some points he feels threatened and tries to sabotage you with bad advice from time to time to cover his tracks, for example.) All in all, the game has decent potential. If the "update" is just fixing the grammar and spelling, and cleaning up the art, well, then it's a missed opportunity.
I mean, even if he gave us absolutely no reason to trust him, I still wouldn't trust a guy that smiles like a madman while telling the story of how his 'friend' lost his mind.... Other than that, I absolutely agree with all of your suggestions for the game's update. I also think it would be interesting to alternate between real world and 'happy' world, kind of like in Fran Bow...
This is a really weird game. It has tons of issues and isn't really a "good" game as it is, but it's still intriguing. I think it would deserve a truly good ending though... Oh and also, I do think James doesn't appear until after you see the characters as humans. He may be "Kitty"'s brother. Not only do they live together, but if you pay attention, there are two white cat portraits in the house - one with a blue scarf or ribbon (that would be Kitty) and one with reddish pink or something like that - and James has a slighly reminiscent color on his clothes, plus the fact that their sprites have the same body type. I mean, the speach box sprites, not the overworld ones. Maybe the girl did mimic her brother's crybaby behaviour to seem more trustworthy...
Correcting myself - he isn't her brother but her boyfriend! I've chatted with the creator of the game, and they told me the story about them! (they are really nice, by the way) Also, they have planned to do a total remake of the game, not only updating the texts and dialogues. It seems some of the characters won't even have the same roles anymore.
Aldo Meylano Was the question directed to me? If yes, I didn't met them IRL, but I've contacted them through itch.io (and if no, well, I guess google messed up my notifications haha!)
I was a little thrown off because of the UnderTale like graphics, but it's a good game. I think this is very similar to a dark animal crossing fanfic where a kid went to a town as a camp and became preocupied that he was the only kid at the whole camp, or something like that, I don't remember well.
I just realized that the being amnesic in a weird town is really similar to Harvester, except in that game all people brush it off as nonsense (and of course this game is less weird and less violent).
_But the art was cute_ "Do you know that STORY? A myth, a legend, a fable, a tale? The one about xxxx? No? You don't know that story about xxxx? I will tell you that story about xxxx! But first, let us get some berries. Berries? Yes for a pie. A pie that will *never* be mentioned again. Why was I so worried? (repeat 49,529 times)." Gah. It was just too twee-horror. I wouldn't be surprised to see a line like "Only ONE letter separates LOVE from VORE!" Suddenly there's a smell in a room & a clinic & a bunch of characters & Miss Kitty was obnoxiously needy. Also, I'm not sure it was a language issue or just typos, as 'grateful' was misspelled as 'greatful'. I understand it was for a game jam, but it needed a lot of editing.
i have nothing to add to that statement,my brain isnt functioning well becuase it is late here... i want to sleep but Weeb Manly MCgouhaver uploaded new dank vid !
It's obvious the game was made by somebody who doesn't speak English as a first language (neither do I, I can relate), and it's very likely they didn't have time to get the game proofread. Anyway, it's true that the story doesn't really make sense. It looked like a case of "2edgy4u"
Chivi-chivik even worse than 2edgy4u.... One question:is this an horror game designed for 9 years old childrens ? the art is not spectacular but they could make deaths look more scary which they didnt bothered to,every little insult is censored for no actual reason
+Chivi-chivik Perfect grammar is not necessary in a game - games written by native English speakers still have "they're" issues... so it really didn't matter whether or not English was a primary language. It was poorly written in any language, with a meandering plot & pointless quests, like that pie. Agree with you.
"Rabbit will have something to help you!" "... like what?" "ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY!" o.o... "Just kidding! ... he'll just give you drugs." ----- Beyond there is a bunch of trees. Normally, that wouldn't be unusual, except they're bunched together like bananas would be. -----
Spoilers. Positive stuff: * Almost in the entire game the visuals are pretty good (With exceptions) and the draws looks okey, *A new creator *Decent music *Free Neutral: *Easy puzzles *Small world/maps Negative: *The story have a holes and a lot of questions like How do they manage to eat another person alive? *Like manly say, the dialogues are pretty bad and repetitives. *The draws don´t show the most important things , you can see a draw of the shop keeper meanwhile are few ending without a single image/draw *Everybody have the same face (eyes, nose and mouth) in the facesets.
Tbh I think (and like) the fact that there aren't many drawings since it allows your mind to think and go into the twisted and morbid scenes that it describes.
Your voice for rabbit is perfect! Not done with the video yet but had to stopdown here to say that. Im a new subscriber also, found you when you played sara is missing.
Thank you! If you're going through my videos, of things that I recently played, I'd definitely check out my Pocket Mirror playthrough if you're into the "Cute/Horror" genre.
"I remember a long time ago mother would tell me a story so I wouldnt run away..." "ooo! Tell me!" "Its close to bed time-" "TELL ME!!" "Okay! Okay... Mother told me that if I ever run away... I would find a village of beasts... Monsters that once used to be children who also ran away..." "..." "She said if I never found my way home, I would turn into a monster too, and have to live with the beasts until I die..." "...Your mom is mean" "Eh, she's your grandmother, have at least a little respect." "...promise me... you will never run away..."
after finishing this (i had to take a break and i ended up forgetting about it) i have 2 comments to make 1) the art is cute, but it would be SO MUCH NICER if the lines were less sketchy and the coloring was more solid 2) the story was really good, but i felt as if the characters had a LOT more depth that was hinted at for no reason. Alex's family, the reason James was there, the other characters....it seems like tis person had thought out their characters really well but then suddenly we were tossed into the middle of their stories rather then the beginning meh thats just my two cents .
Somehow... I feel like this isn't the first times James ate someone. At first, you saw him talking about don't make him doing SOMETHING. Yeah, really suspicion.
I took a couple months off from watching your videos. Mostly because I like to have a bunch to watch at once, since I had watched all of yours so many times, rofl. Back now. And I forgot how much I loved your voice. It's just in general a soothing tone all the time, even when you make higher pitches. Some Let's Players are scream-y and annoying but you are just so enjoyable to listen to. Thanks a bunch for your hard work.
This game reminds me of Eversion, with its two-ish endings being either dying or becoming a monster. However, at least Eversion had some levity and challenge in its endings rather than a simple alternate choice.
Wow, this game kind of reminded me of a mix of Dreaming Mary and Endroll and a 1% Wadanohara (sorry for the misspell) with that Samekichi Sharkfin hairstyle. But wow, what a twisted little game. Still not sure who represents whom, but I'm not sure I want to know.
I don't like when games do the "the creator of this game made you". The reason for this is that it kind of implies that the character in the game is real but trapped. This is because the fourth wall is broken. But since the character is clearly not real, the while 4th wall break feels more phony than anything else. 4th wall breaks can be fun, it's just this specific one that I find really bothersome :/
Its because people put under pressure can make really bad decisions. Plus theres also the others he would have to contend with. I think what happened was while he was tied up, they did something to him.
I thought the twist was gonna be a little slow, but nope all it took was forgetting your meds... I really like this one though! These games you've been playing lately have been pretty cool~
ok. I believe i got who's who. Kitty is Chole. Squeaks or the mouse is Stella, the one guarding the clinic. Rabbit is Adam. Mr. Honeybear is Depressed Elliot. And I guess James was someone they kidnapped before getting Alex.
Rabbit's shop has "Happy Dream" drug in pill form. Well the opening text about "blank" was very informative of the"blank" for about 'blank" seconds (and in those seconds I thought Manly was censoring curse words). Animals walking around upright in clothes means you've crossed to the other side of reality where "we need to go to...Oh, this is Rabbit's shop".
This is actually pretty good. The biggest weakness is just the length of the game, which hopefully will be addressed in that planned update. Some more bad endings and smoother means of giving the lore of the world would really help.
Ur voice reminds me of Shizuo from Durarara =H= I'm random and weird sorry if I weird u out, but I love ur voices and ur voice acting for the characters so keep up the awesome job u awesome sauce hell of a bro ^.^
Moral of the story, if you see crazy shite like giant talking furries, you've been isekai'd and should probably escape before people start shipping you with one of them.
But what was behind the bloody door?Leprechauns getting beaten because their gold was stolen?Shark week?Abraham Lincoln after he saw an Adam Sandler movie which inadvertently made his eyes and ears bleed out?
This definitely needs work, love the vid tho Hero. I think it has good potential, because editing is necessary. Kind of uninteresting and anticlimactic rn
Actually, I think it's just grouping his parents with his friends and potentially his dog? Saying he'd like to see his parents and amy, zoe and so on... There have been some slight grammar issues every here and there since the game was rushed so it's a probably mistake.
someone must have been scared by Animal Crossing or something. you may never see this but I just wanted to say I love that you play like all the Rpg horror games. I came for Corpse Party and stayed for all the other games!
I haven't watched this yet, but the title immediately made me think of that screenshot-based spooky Animal Crossing story where the... Gyros? are eldritch totems that drive people mad.
No because this game is so blankety blank, it’s a great blank blank and has a really good blankety, the blank is blank blank, blankety blank. 100% great blank
Oml I feel so dumb it's taken me 25 minutes and I've only just figured out that rabbits sprite isn't him sat curled up holding his knees with little shoes pointing out at the bottom. its the points of his waist coat.
These are HEAVY Dream of Gluttony vibes here. Like, all giggly and pink and happy in the first half then really demented in the second half, The chibi aspect feels dauntingly similar, Characters who pretend they are something they are not- And they are partially crazy..? Damn.
