Wild theory: Henry dies so often because his father's research on death ended up cursing him... Or he's just hated by the universe.

Man. I thought I was having a stroke or something when I saw this video out. Honestly I would have never expected you to try this one again; the game is straight up broken in a lot of parts. I was 16 when I made this, and silly me replaced my editable version with the encrypted version when I released it, so I could never update it again LOL. I thought this game was bad after a while because of it, but listening to you enjoying it and reading about how much everyone else loves it in the comments, it makes me feel real good about such an old project :). I've found myself smiling and laughing along, which I've /never/ done with my own projects! The fact you played this years ago helped motivate me to make more games, hence the one I'm currently working on. Seeing this now just gives me even more motivation! So thank you so much Manly, you give even the crummiest games so much love and attention that everyone can't help but smile, especially me! Keep up your great content!

I feel sad for Henry, he either dies (or cut his hand but that still counts) or we hear about his depressing life.

This main character, is a safety hazard. For himself and everyone else. Literally you can't even put him alone in an empty room.

If he comes into contact something other than the clothes he wear, the air he breathes or the ground he's standing on; he just ceases to exist. Edit: OK there's also a game over trigger where he dies by being overwhelmed by the wind the fan in his guest bedroom caused. This kid is more unstable than antimatter I tell ya Okamen is one dank troll

An entire game based around rolling Nat 1s... dangerously relatable.

Okamen: *Confirms that there's no happy endings because they were a edgy teen and didn't know how to write happy endings* Me, already invested in the plot and loves making happy endings whether they're sappy or not: Fine, I'll do it myself

Character: I work retail. They said it's easy but man is it tiring. Well at least things will be better tomorrow! You fool.

I feel unimaginative for saying this, but this game feels like the Henry Stickmin series with all the ways you can fail and die.

_A method to the madness_ The deaths were still pretty funny - my favorites still were the razor in the potato & the chlamydia in the cake. The actual endings of the story were very depressing in comparison to the darkly comedic deaths. The father's original flawed logic (36:11) was to learn how to bring someone back with a 'love potion'. I'm sure he killed his wife because of his necrophilia, intending to kill & revive her, which makes the whole premise really twisted

Even by horror movie standards. The protagonist Henry is as dumb as a rock. Freaking dont eat 4 year old cake Dont eat rotten food Dont eat suspicious food with a hole on the bottom Dont try to reach for stacked objects on top Dont lean on a well Dont touch the fire Dont eat flowers Dont sleep with a sword If your suspicious someone broke in your house, dont turn off the lights, and sleep at all... This is as dumb as the night guards back in that failing pizzaria

I was thinking this looked familiar, so I went from thinking I had played that before, then realizing I haven't played a RPG in years, then to thinking Markiplier must have played it, to realizing Manly is replaying the game.

I really like the idea of a character with horrendously bad luck, but the luck is so bad, that it's fatal, so they don't even know about it, so it almost turns around again to be good luck

I feel that there's this underlying message- Henry throughout the story seems so bored with his life, and the player keeps trying to keep Henry alive, even if it means Henry's depressing and boring life continues. Keeping Henry alive means you win the game (until the dad kills him I mean). But to stay alive is to make Henry do anything out of the ordinary. Would one sacrifice change and difference for life without meaning? Is Henry living to survive, or surviving to live? Henry's depression doesn't stem from his mother's death or the fact that his father is a lunatic in some shape or form(not completely I mean, those are big factors), rather, how his daily life has lost it's meaning and he no longer knows what he's living for. There isn't anything to be worried about. There isn't anything to be happy about. Everyone will die someday, it's a given; but was the life that led up to death really worth it? Ah i just ranted a bit lol

I'm so glad creators are still making RPG maker games, there's a nostalgic charm to these type of games that just makes them so dear to me.

The music is so calming. I'm just sitting here and vibing with the sound of it. I love that little trumpet/snare bit there when you die.

Good to see you conquer this game. The many deaths are quite comedic, but I do wish you had just been able to save more than once. I know it likely goes against what the developer was after, but replaying so much over and over gets tedious. Still, I'm happy to hear they're working on their next game.

I'm surprised there wasn't a third ending around. Like a true true ending, where you finish everything up, grab the sword, and then read about your mother's death, now able to protect yourself when your father comes. Would probably need to be read with the small candle in the study or something, since the lights would be off.

im glad the protagonist is explicitly rich, usually rpg maker characters will live in massive houses with no explanation. like i get it, they wanna give you space to walk around comfortably, or they want to leave a lot of empty space for you to run away from monsters, but the least they can do is make it somewhat make sense (though imagine being rich enough to afford this mansion and yet have it so sparsely decorated lmao)

Comin' back for Round 2! :D I always wanted to see how this game ends (and I certainly wasn't going to try myself, fuck that), so it's nice that Manly came back to it. Watching him immediately killed by the same things that killed him last time is both facepalming and hilarious. Though I'm kind of disappointed there's no real victory to this game, I really wanted to see Henry live to see the next day ... and then try not to die all over again. xD

How did Henry survive so long up until 22? Some props in the house are sabotaged and set up by the father, but oh well he managed to drown just from drinking from the faucet. Maybe his father even knows how to curse at this point!

It took me way too long to realize why I love this game. It reminds me of misao so much! I've seen people complain about games where everything can kill you, but like. This isn't one of those old games before saving was invented. Part of the fun is finding everything that can kill you.
