You can't pull all the crap Edie pulled on other people and not expect to get payback. She tried to steal Mike from Susan, went after Carlos after he split from Gabby, and tried to blackmail Bree. She's a good character...but she had it coming.
Edie made a huge mistake trying to blackmail Bree. But I did feel bad for her in the end. The reason she tried to blackmail Bree was because she kept humiliating her at work in front of her clients.
@Danilo P she innocently let him stay at her house Bree made snide comment about how she likes other women's left overs and told her to send Orson home. she then went on to tell him stay long as he likes gets drunk and actually kisses him
@@drproject1990 the left overs comment is true though she went after all of their ex’s except for Lynette and tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if she tried to come onto Tom too
As much as I liked Bree, she pissed me the hell off here. She was destroying Edie's business out of spite. Granted Edie should have just gone with "stay away from my potential buyers, and I'll remain ignorant". But Bree's smug little, "I'll just have to pay them a visit so we can have a nice chat too," made me want Edie to slug her. Also let's face it, Bree was only upset that her family's reputation was on the line, not just Danielle's.
Lol. My wife never watched Desperate Housewives so we've been binging. I think people cheer the house wives and forget they are all the worst of the worst. Edie actually fits right in with them. She's what the 4 of them are wrapped up in one person. This scene was some 7th grade mean girl b.s.
Eddie gaslight Mike to take him from Susan, she kept Carlos from Gabby by blackmailing him and then got her petty revenge on him and this time when she went too far? Yes, she's a good character but not a saint. She had it coming
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 She also burnt down Susan's house when she found out she had been sleeping with Karl behind her back. Sure Susan also burnt down Edie's home but that was by accident. Edie's actions were premeditated and she should have gone to jail.
Don't get why people in the comments are simping for Edie. I wouldn't want her as a friend. She had no problem sleeping with her "friend's" husbands/exes which a friend does not do. She doesn't really do anything for her friends unless it benefits her in some way. Yeah the 4 housewives aren't perfect but they try to be good to each other and if they do wrong the other, they do try to fix things and mean their apology. Edie doesn't learn and keeps doing it over and over. Susan may have burnt her house but it was an accident, whereas Edie intentionally does things. (Btw hate Susan most out of every character, prefer Edie over her.)
Edie to me was the true protagonist of this show. All she wanted was someone to love her and friends to truly care about her. She navigated it in the worst way but any idiot could tell what her true intentions were. She was just lonely.
That she was lonely doesn’t justify any of the shit she did. She could have better she just liked being mean and preferred to not get better. She had what she deserved
@@fridakahlo4225as much as I like Edie you're very right! If you want friends, you have to be a friend. You don't hurt or blackmail them. That's not the way to do it.
I got so pissed off at the beginning when they were all like: “she went after all our husbands” Um excuse me? Edie never tried to steal any of your men, she dated mike when susan left him during his coma for that british guy, she dated carlos after him and gaby got divorced and gaby married victor, she never did anything wrong or tried to hurt anyone, in fact she was the most innocent women out of all the housewives and the show was never the same after she left!
It's not what she did, it's how she did it. She lied to Mike and used his loss of memory to convince him Susan is a bad person. She lied to Carlos that she isn't taking birth control, when in fact, she was. Just to keep him. She was desperate for love and friends but always went about it in the wrong way - by lying, manipulating, controling and blackmailing. Instead of just opening up and being honest and friendly.
No, Edie lied to Mike and took advantage of his memory loss by convincing him that Susan treated him like dirt during their relationship. She blackmailed Carlos and made a pass at Orson.
Taylor it’s just not even that. She stayed scheming and manipulating situations to make people dislike her. None of the rest of them were innocent in their own ways, but she was the worst. Lying, burning people’s houses down, faking a suicide to keep a man. Just ridiculous!
The irony in this scene is Bree was happy to indulge in this unfair and completely ruthless group bullying to Edie not knowing that it would one day be her on the other side of it. And in the last season, she was lol.
@@linalou1354 but they were real bitches to her too. They almost never included her in anything, always accused her of going after their husbands all because they unconditionally sided with Susan against her. Then they had the nerve to pull the friend card when they needed favors from her. I mean in this case she was initially just helping Orson whom Brew had kicked out in a drunken state.
@@poorme5576 Unfair??? Come on, get a grip. Eddie gaslight Mike to take him from Susan, she kept Carlos from Gabby by blackmailing him and then got her petty revenge on him and almost got him destroyed; this time when she went too far (even though Bree indeed started it). And YES, she did go after their husbands (Examples are above). Yes, she's a good character but not a saint. She had it coming
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Yeah Edies biggest downfall was how she would screw over the ladies for guys everytime. Like other than that she was a cool character, and I wish they didn’t write her that way, but I don’t think she understood that going after people guys/ex’s isn’t the best strategy if you’re trying to make friends with them. Because unlike the other ladies she never gained their trust in the first place, the other ladies have had their moments but they had a friendship to fall back on.
Edie had her great moments, but she was evil. Lynette, Susan, Bree and Gaby never blackmailed each other when they were fighting, Edie did. Twice, Bree and Carlos. She slept with most of her friends exes and she exposed her "friends" a lot. I didn't want her character to die, but Renee was much more fun.
@@brook262 yeah, she asked Danielle if she was sure she wasn't making a mistake leaving the baby, and kept telling Danielle that her feelings towards the baby might change when she actually gave birth. Then when the baby was born she still asked her if she was sure she wanted to leave the baby, and Danielle said yes. So she let Danielle make the decision
Am I the only one who's confused about how all the housewives team up together just because Bree wanted to cover up that her daughter had a baby too young? Austin was the father and they made him leave and never come back even though it was his child and then they want to put up an act like it's their own child (Bree and Orson) a mess I would totally not support lmao I would've expected Lynette at least to have a different reaction Edit: and all of that just because Edie offered Orson a place to stay when Bree kicked him out
Eddie gaslight Mike to take him from Susan, she kept Carlos from Gabby by blackmailing him and then got her petty revenge on him and this time when she went too far? Yes, she's a good character but not a saint. She had it coming
Unpopular opinion, but I didn’t feel bad for Edie. Bree, Lynette, Gaby and Susan made a lot of mistakes, but a lot of commentators stating that Edie didn’t do anything wrong or bad is pure and utter hogwash. Edie kissed Karl when he was still married to Susan, intentionally burned down Susan and Julie's house, manipulated Mike when he woke up from his coma, tricked Carlos into thinking that they were conceiving a child, pretended to attempt suicide in order to get Carlos to stay with her after he found out that she lied to him about said conception attempts and used her knowledge of his offshore account against him, but Bree, Lynette, Susan and Gaby were being unnecessarily harsh and hypocritical. I don’t hold her blackmail against Bree and her consensual relationship with Karl and Carlos after their divorces to Susan and Gaby against her, but let’s call a thing a thing.
Edie so deserved it lmao how are some people trying to defend her after all the shit she did? At least the other girls did bad stuff because they had to protect themselves or family (except gabby), Edie did her shit just to being mean or evil. And even after the girls offered their friendship to Edie, stand by her snarky ass comments, they still accepted her, and Edie was so ungrateful that she even went on after their husbands. She deserved everything that happened to her
Oh please!! Bree was no saint !! She herself used people for her own gain a lot of times! Atleast Edie did everything openly unless the other housewives! Except Gaby, I love her! She was selfish, conniving but never acted like a saint.
To be honest, I totally get this scene. I have a group of 3 very close girlfriends who I all met individually throughout the years and have introduced to each other. The way these girls have fallen absolutely in love with each other, trusted their feelings and insecurities with each other because they trust my instincts and have become the best of friends is nothing but AMAZING. Today, it is almost impossible to create a group of strong women who have nothing but each others backs and love each other through the hardest times and always see the good. And that’s what I got, and I’m so blessed. But recently an old girlfriend from let’s say mine and gabbys past has come back and she wants to be friends and join the group. She is EXACTLY like Eddie. She is a lot of fun! She is a great time and deep down she is a beautiful person. But she has extremely narcissistic tendencies. She can be so self absorbed,so worried about the men she tries to attract and always forgets about her friendships/family and what’s actually important in her life. She treats you as though you will never leave and will always tolerate her bullshit. It came to a point where my girlfriend and I had to walk away because it was becoming so toxic. We later created the great friendship bond with women I discussed previously but now that she’s back we can’t look at her the same. She is a good person deep down, and she deserves nothing but happiness. But she didn’t deserve us. And when we reconnected we knew that nothing could compare to the sisterhood we NOW have in our lives.
The only one I could(‘ve) see(n) myself be friends with was Gabbie. Great style, makes you laugh, & gives it her best effort to be there for her friends (or at least explain why she can’t or why it’s hard for her) As opposed to Susan: somehow so needy, yet at the same time self absorbed enough that the friendship would get exhausting, Lynette: had to assert her abrasive approach on everyone around…with exception to those rowdy children of hers, oh and Bree:when she’s not uptight, gives off such a pompous attitude about her that it drove both her kids and husband(s) away. Edie is a wolf amongst wolves in sheeps clothing. You know what to expect and honestly the episode where Edie & Gabbie go clubbing together, even though things got competitive almost immediately, they still looked like they were having more fun than at those poker games (yawn) Edie’s not very likable, but she’s definitely cool. No husband, no kids, looks incredible & doesn’t take anyones BS. And honestly to Bree’s “did you guys hear anything? Me neither?” Was JUST cringe at its finest, but Bree does strike me as the kind of woman to have the last word, like she did with Maisy Gibbons in season 1. That was a good one 😈
I hated how they all formed a united front with Bree and wouldn't even bother to hear Edie's side of the story. Edie had done some horrible things, but in this situation, Bree was every bit as guilty as she was. She shouldn't have gone after Edie's business like that.
are you stupid??? lying to mike when he had amnesia... tricking carlos into thinking they were making a baby. faking a suicide attempt so he would marry her, using bree's grandson as blackmail. thats saint material for you???
Edie faked a suicide to guilt Carlos into staying with her Edie pretended she was off birth control, knowing how much Carlos wanted a kid Edie used her own kid (that she barely saw) just to get a man Edie blackmailed Carlos into staying with her by threatening to tell the authorities about his money Edie purposely burned down Susan’s house Edie blackmails Bree into “being her best friend.” Oh, please. She deserved it.
Nicole and Teri (Eddi 'n Susan) they have problem in real life because Nicole as Eddi it was better than Susan, so Teri was jealous and speak with Marck, P. S. Thats why season 5 its about Eddi.
But didn’t Susan and Gaby both sleep with edies boyfriend and didn’t Bree try and ruin edies business and didn’t Susan burn down edies house because she thought edie was sleeping with Mike who wasn’t Susan’s boyfriend
@@danielprice207Susan did that by accident. The 4 didn't hurt each other over and over. Here's a tip if you want to have friends. You don't blackmail them and do bad things over and over again! I like Edie, but how did she expect to keep friends acting like that?
To be honest were Edie and them ever truly friends? In season 1 it kinda seemed liked were. But,overall I saw nothing but lying, resentment, and blackmail, she had this coming 😠
