There were lots of storylines that didn't resolve the way I wanted them too on Desperate Housewives, but Tom and Lynette had to make it, they just had to, and I'm so glad they did.
@@leilaan9344 Not him, but Mike's and Edie's deaths always seemed pointless to me... or let's say it would've been better, more fun if they lived. Mike might be subjective, but in the case of Edie it's sad because she had to go because of drama behind the scenes. She was a great element in the show and would've been great until the end hadn't she been killed off. ... Oh, and Orson's ending. I felt like his part in the final season was great on one hand, but then he disappeared never to be seen again. I like the idea of him as a villain who has been built up over the course of 5 seasons, and they could've done more with him in the end and given him a proper send off.
@@bpnk5237 why? They were the realest couple on the show. This is what actual relationships are like, not the fluff they create on tv shows. Tom and Lynette are the perfect role models for real life couples. Losing sight of what's right in front of you because you get complacent and then realising that and coming back together. What's to hate?!?
It's been YEARS and this scene still makes me SOB, like what the hell... I hated, hated, hated their break-up and the new girlfriend, but then we never would have had this scene and honestly, I wouldn't trade it for no break-up. It's that good.
.... not sure if I would go back after everything. It’s like how could you discard me like that though? She let him know in so many ways that she wanted to make things work and instead he flaunted his new girlfriend in her face. Jane wasn’t kind to Lynette, but she was also a victim here while Tom was trying it figure himself out. My trust would be completely gone.
Yeah but Lynette also had a big part of responsibility in their break-up, when they were in difficulty and tried to get help and to make it work she was the one who didn't put in enough work I'm talking about the therapist where she didn't want to hear her mistakes pointed out or that time Tom got her engagement ring remade and she found a way to criticize it when she was the one mocking it a lot before Tom was kinda right to leave at the moment because Lynette was not seeing what she was doing wrong
Elyon M'ydrill Thank you‼️ Rightfully said‼️ People forget how manipulative and control freak was Lynette with Tom and constantly emasculating him; she is the reason why they get divorced in first place😤 She always waved her husband over as if she’s bossing around her sons‼️ Even Renée told her to stop doing it, especially in the workplace and in his office, when he was the boss‼️ If some women love to emasculate their husband by bossing them around, therefore they should be prepare being left for someone’s else🤷🏾♀️
The exact opposite. Lynette cost Tom his career, then forced him to take the CFO job only to complain that he is enjoying his job. Let’s not forget Lynette wanted to ignore Tom office decorations instructions. Lynette bitch about Jane yet during there separation she went out with 3 guys. The only one I see where Tom forced her was when they own the pizza parlor.
@Crystal Paul What? Lynette didnt even deserve a guy like Tom who loved her no matter what.i like lynette, but tbh Lynette is a crazy control freak who was never happy with what she had infront of her. Shes lucky thay she had a guy who could love a cazy like Lynette.
@@Mmm-jx7up It actually is blowing my mind how so many people in these comments don’t recognize that. I think the type of bad behavior that Lynette’s character models is so normalized today that people are completing missing the impact her brand of toxicity has on loved ones.
@@ilikemyrealname Yes!!!!!! Even the actress Felicity Huffman said that the scripts for Lynette really paint her in a bad light. Go to the Desperate Housewives Reddit and you’ll see how many women in the subreddit are complimenting all the women in the show toxic behavior.
@@ilikemyrealname seriously go on the subreddit. If baffling how the women on the subreddit, cherry pick scenes but ignore the episodes in whole. They don't actually analyze the shows message, they just cherry pick scene to make the men look bad and women on lane as saints
Let's forget how controlling and manipulative Lynette was, always making everyone think and act the way she wanted, tom's office and the planned trip to Hawaii were prime examples of that
@@zeeusman3698 please if Lynette was truly controlling she would've never agreed to marry Tom, leave her career ever, have so many kids. It was tom who walked away never Lynette. I wish she was controlling
2021 and i still can't watch this scene without crying! Just as emotional as Mike's funeral when Vanessa Williams aka Renée singing Amazing grace! Makes me crying like a baby every time 😭 God how i miss DH ❤️
Between all the women Lynette and Susan were my favorite. Gaby was usually rash and snarky but improved a little when her daughters came, Bree kept her little facades right until the end even though there wasn't even trace left of her original "perfect life," and Susan was the lighthearted character the show needed who at least was always upfront about not being perfect. But Lynette was just... real in every way. The only one who could have carried an entire show based on her life alone. I think this was the perfect farewell to her story.
I am SOO HAPPY they got back together in the end & the way they did it i SOO loved it It was SOO lovely to watch them over the years -am sure gonna MISS them guys ALOTS :(
I always loved Tom, damn I hate how off the handle he went. But I'm glad they worked it out. I just feel bad for her, he was really self-centered through the whole series.
Alyssa Mew But she wasn’t a SAINT NOR A GIFT HERSELF‼️😤 People forget how manipulative and control freak was Lynette with Tom and constantly emasculating him; she is the reason why they get divorced in first place😤 She always waved her husband over as if she’s bossing around her sons‼️ Even Renée told her to stop doing it, especially in the workplace and in his office, when he was the boss‼️ If some women love to emasculate their husband by bossing them around, therefore they should be prepare being left for someone’ else🤷🏾♀️
they never worked it out she starts all over again being controlling and selfish, never happy of anything. a woman like her I would of dumped a long time ago
@@Veronique428 I agree she did sister peck and control him. She wasn’t a saint for sure but still a sad betrayal and one she was always worried of from their beginning. I’m glad they could learn from it and grow though
@@gr122 oh no really? I loved the show but just couldn’t keep watching after season five. The broke up again? How sad. She was controlling and rude to him at times but still sad a marriage with kids for so long ended.
@@Veronique428 she wasn’t bossy but Lynette wasn’t “emasculating” Tom by being bossy. It’s not attractive for men to be bossy either. It’s why my mom left my dad and after all this time, he still wants her back.
Lynette is one of my favorite characters on the show, and today I watched the episode when Tom cheated on her, come on she did not deserve that at all, she was so hurt by Tom by being with somebody else... I watched the show million times before but I still love it.
@@melissaibissa6725 He had a daughter with another woman he had a one night stand with before he even met Lynette. Nora just never told him about it until the kid was 11. He slept with Renee while he and Lynette were broken up.
@@carolinewilson2069 Then you didn't watch the series properly. Carlos was a very obvious drinker. Also, Gaby cheated, indeed, but to her defense her attempts were usually petty and meaningless and she was busy worrying about her clothing more than the guy. Didn't Carlos father a baby with the maid or something? Both were petty to say the least, but Gaby had been abused in the past and was unstable in her mind. Carlos was a grown man and still did this.
Widdekuu91 So it is okay for women to cheat, to lie, to mistreat her partner whatever reason she might have, as long as it’s a woman who behave that way, she can get away with it; but men must conduct themself in HIGHEST STANDARD THAN WOMEN, even if the women don’t⁉️😤🤨 Then women have the AUDACITY to call men SEXISTE⁉️
I love this scene so much. I've researched it a few times and it always brings gives me goosebumps followed by a smile and tears. It's just a wonderful ending for them. I didn't care about the end of the rest of the storyline but theirs had me by the heart during the final season.
Marriage goals 💕 I'm finishing 4th season and when I found out they will broke up around 8th season, my heart broke into pieces. Glad they come back together in the end, they are meant to be.
All I know is, I would have been pissed at the whole desperate housewives series if they ended it without them getting back together!!! Would of had some angry fans!!
I thought the whole Tom/Lynette separation story line was stupid and made no sense. It practically came out of nowhere because the writers wanted to try and keep things 'interesting." It would have been nice to see ONE of the main housewives manage to make it from the series premiere to the series finale staying in the same marriage with the same man. Tom and Lynette were the ONLY main couple who never separated or divorced until this boring, unnatural plot line!
Lynette was never my favorite character, and this scene is touching, but honestly, she deserved better than Tom. Yes, she could be overbearing and demanding but he was a man-child. Her success at anything bruised his ego.
My psychology of sex prof said that passion and intimacy are fluid in a relationship but what keeps it together and what you need to hold on to more than anything is commitment. This is such a testament. If you want to be with someone, you know it, and you do what it takes to make it work. Gaby and Carlos proved that even more. They went through worse than Tom and Lynette at times but not once did they want to bail. This show really dictated true love.
Hated Tom since season two!!! Why couldn't he have been killed off?? He treated Lynette like shit and be acted like a man child!! Wish Lynette never took him back!
