That's why Apple often keeps news features exclusive to the new iPhones, to encourage users to upgrade. Like with Apple Intelligence, Night Mode, Smart HDR, ...
@@KeeganMcKinney I know she meant that but still, why it's a negative? That means that you can get the Pixel 9 knowing you will get updates from feature Pixel models too. And regardless, it's good for consumers. The only negative is from the business perspective talking about incentive to short-term buyers...
@@vincelongman3264 I still remember how I got night photos in my Pixel 3a and my friend with iPhone 11 I think? didn't get it, and my Pixel 3a photos were so much better than her flagship phone :D
I'm upgrading from the Pixel 7 Pro to the 9 Pro XL, not for the AI (can't see me having a conversation with my phone's AI) but more for the tech and camera aspects. (UK)
So far I'm loving the upgrade to pixel9. Got the green one with a Spigen liquid air green case. I upgraded from the Pixel6 had the pixel 2xl before that. So far the pixel9 has been good but felt forced since the pixel 6 would just get hot too often and figured it wouldn't last till the pixel 10 came out
I had the pixel 2XL (loved!) and the 6 (exciting new design). I went with the 8 pro to give the telephoto a shot and now I have a 9 pro (non-XL) on the way to see if I fall in love with a smaller phone again. Google seems to be killing it with the 8 and 9 series. Fingers crossed the 10 will be a home run and the trade values are good. Hope you enjoy your new phone!
7 years of software updates is something kinda funny nowadays since it was the first google pixel release without the new Android version, so (at least this year) there will be 6 years Maybe the Pixel 10 (or X) will introduce Android 16 finally

Google says at there conference the camera has a new HDR mode from the grout. they build it for the ground up and they've tweaked the software to make it better the camera so it's supposed to be better with tensor. 4. helping
AI good or bad doesn't bother me as A "feature" or "Perk" with exception to replacing human jobs of course👀 Looks cool and hope it does well for them. Only thing is AI can be a god send or curse with time. Since its still evolving and improving, its a costly gamble.
I prefer AI works like a device assistant, when I grant it permissions it can run through my phone looking something for me or complete tasks I instructed days ago.
phones aren't that hard to use it's like people are dumber than ever anyway I got the 8a for $400 I'm good with that... but the screen definitely could be brighter outside.
QUESTION: How is the sound for Music and Videos comlared to Pixel 7a and 8a? That's something nobody is taking about! I don't know if it's better, worse, same or what.
"A little less natural." 3:55 😀👍🏼 I liked your description of how the "add me" feature functioned/worked cause "less natural" was spot on, imo. Great review, btw. Reviews like yours are so needed and important to me because by you doing this saves me and others tons of time running around (either irl or on the internet).
7:05 iPhone takes sharper photos because it uses incredible amount of artificial oversharpening. It adds sharpness to places where it is non-existent in reality. Some pictures of nature (grass, foliage) look very artificial on iPhone. I have not yet tested the new Pixel so I cannot compare, but I lived with iPhone 15 Pro for about 6+ months and eventually got rid of it especially because of artificially looking photos of nature.
you never talked about Gemini and RU-vid where you could ask it? what was she eating in the video and gem and I will tell you and give you a recipe for that. they showed that off at Google's conference why didn't you talk about that feature?
@CNet The design is basically an iPhone with a camera visor. Its (front) screen looks just like any other Android device. Not sure if paying an extra $100 for AI features is worth it. In a months time of using the device we will all be bored with it.
I feel these *new" AI features will get old and tired in no time, just like the fancy memojies on iPhones. I don't know anybody, including my 2 kids and their friends, who use memojies any more. All really useful AI features can still be accessed through computer anyways. Buying a new phone seems pointless just for accessing fancy AI features.
I understand your skepticism, but for me, AI has become an indispensable tool, not just a novelty. I use it multiple times daily for practical reasons, not just for entertainment. It's revolutionized my life in the same way Google Search and Maps did years ago, by providing information and assistance at my fingertips. AI has streamlined my workflow, helped me learn new things, and even made me more creative. It's not just about fancy features, it's about genuine enhancements to my everyday life.
All Sizzle, No Steak. This is a $599 phone, tops. The reason they are charging the extra here, is to keep that Gemini server running. Spending 20+ minutes of the announcement on Gemini, and running several of the Demos on competitors devices, sort of says what Google thinks of these devices. This is another inferior phone from Google.
Use the phone in person if you can. You might be surprised. People get caught up on the Tensor chip and benchmarks but that doesn’t tell the whole story.
Who cares about AI it’s a gimmick it’s just a selling point because they can’t really add more innovation to phones anymore does my nut in having said that def getting pixel 9 pro September 18th
Umm no. People have to be in the frame to be photographed. You can't just snap a photo of someone and then add them to your photo. Plus it has to match backgrounds.....😂
That is one of the most daft statements I’ve ever heard. Just because it has an apple badge on it it’s automatically worth $800? Personally, I don’t think either the iPhone 16 nor the Pixel 9 should be worth that much. I do think that unless you’re deep in the Apple cul-, I mean ecosystem, then the Pixel 9 offers more. It has a 120 hz refresh rate, and actually usable AI. Not just the promise of AI down the road. That’s not to mention Samsung’s offerings that provide more functionality than IPhone, unless of course you’re allergic to green bubbles or some other asinine p, frivolous reason.
