My mum too, but they let the jelly set fist, it was called jelly whip. The first recipe on the tin was orange & chocolate pie, using crushed digestives a little butter & some melted chocolate. Brings back the memories 😂❤

So did my mother. She’d put it in the old fashioned ice cube tray and refrigerate. Once set up, she’d just serve in a bowl using an ice cream scoop. She didn’t freeze it. She’d make orange, lime or pink which was probably either cherry, strawberry or raspberry. Most likely strawberry. It had a kind of odd sour milk taste from the carnation, but I loved it. I looked all over for the recipe. I found one updated using heavy cream. I’m going to make it, but with carnation instead of cream. Judy, you must be in your 70s, I’d guess.

@@cynthiaamitrano8915 yes I am. I used to have little pamphlets from carnation that had jelly whip recipes. Such easy desserts. We only have dessert on special occasions and icecream when the grandkids come

You can use "sugar free" flavors,🎉🎉 and even lower the amount you use

You could try using cream cheese which will give a slight tang to offset the sweetness.
