I took a bike ride to Reddie Point Preserve to hike the trails and observe the birds. The spring migration of birds is coming to an end here in Florida, but there are still some migratory birds around. Follow along as I share my bike ride, hike, and birdwatching at Reddie Point Preserve.

Nice day on the trail. Cool to see the silk tree flowers again. We saw them down in Puerto Rico for the first time. Beautiful! Super cool to see the owl. Not sure what that tooth looking thing was. Looked pretty neat what ever it was. Alligator tooth? Miniature elephant tusk! LOL. Fun day exploring. Have a great day.

I'm pretty sure it was a mini elephant tusk you got me with that one, lol. You never know what you may find here in Florida 😂 Have a great day!

finally you found an owl. i know, they are hard to see during the day. you almost need ESP to sense them watching you.

This Barred Owl landed in front of me while I was looking at the bird. I guess he wanted to take a closer look too... 😜🤣

@@FollowThomas It has been my passion for a very long time and I started because a doctor said that cycling would be good for my asthma. If you know of Dorian Anderson's BIGBY, Big Green Big Year then you may know that I have done four BIGBYs in the United Kingdom and a six month Green Birding adventure in peru, where I am at the moment planning for another one! Tomorrow is the Global Big Day and it would be fabulous if you took part and posted another excellent vlog about your biking birding day. All the very best, Gary The Biking Birder. BTW I have shared your vlog on a number of Facebook Green Birding group pages. Good luck.

@bikingbirder2010 thank you for sharing your life story with me, and my channel in your Facebook group, much appreciated. Best luck on your upcoming trip! By the way I'm from Estonia but lived the last 20+ years in Florida.

Marvelous cardinal...I've got one that visits my backyard everyday, so it probably is nesting somewhere close by. Oh wow, a Barred Owl...how cool is that!

Very nice neighborhood! Wow, that is a lot of cats. This park looks like a fun place to hike. 🙂

Yes there are a lot of feral cats, they kill a lot of birds every year, someone clearly feeds them. This is a nice park preserve to hike and explore.

That's amazing you saw that Barred Owl! I always want to see more owls, but the only one I have ever seen before is the Eastern Screech Owl.

Barred Owl is our most common owl here in Florida and probably the only one you may happen to see in daytime. We get screeched owls too but they're only certain habitats. This one landed right in front of me while I was looking for warblers. I guess he wanted to take a closer look too 😆

Thanks for following my outdoor adventures. I use Wondershare Filmora. It's a good editing program, not the best but does the job.
