I grew up and graduated in Wakulla. Made these exact trips many times. My mom used to drop me and my best friend off at Wakulla springs every single day of the summer and pick us up at close. Very good memories
Yeah, I had been out to the lighthouse before, but it was a long time ago and I forgot how beautiful it is out there. It really takes your breath away.

Thanks for watching. I will be showing a lot more of the Lodge in part 3. Unfortunately the lighthouse is closed to the public right now due to Covid-19, so we weren't allowed to go inside 😢
Looks like a cool place to visit. Love the lighthouse. Not sure if I would be willing to kayak any of the waters in Florida. The whole gator thing kind of scares the beegees outta me lol
Hahaha, yeah, you have to come to terms with the gators. But similar to most wildlife, if you leave them alone, they leave you alone. They are just harder to spot 😜
Those are some great underwater shots. No way, this brave considering all the Alligators there. Just noticed that your photo changes expressions 😂 Such a pretty place. Nice trails also.
Very nice! Kayaking is so much fun! And you Weren’t kidding about a lot of crabs my goodness ha ha I really like your use of Google earth when I try to use it the quality isn’t very good yours is very nice -excellent!
Thanks, there will definitely be more kayaking to come in the future. For the Google Earth stuff, do you use the movie maker inside Google Earth, or do you use another program to record whatever you are doing onscreen?
@@PanhandleHopper actually I've been playing with google earth studio.I thought maybe the motion was moving too fast for 30fps... not sure but yours was pristine!
@@SwiftyTravels Ahh, got you. You are one-up on me. I wasn't even aware of Google Earth Studio, hahaha. I setup a tour in Google Earth Pro and then use the movie maker function to record my tour. I'll have to look into Studio though.
Dug the underwater shots! (maybe because we're AZ and have so little water hanging about. hahah) but actually finding that other spring is pretty cool. Someone else mentioned gators though and I gotta wander... how common or not common is seeing one? LOL
Thanks, but I have to give props to our guide for the underwater shots. He saw I had a GoPro and suggested it. I would have never thought to do it otherwise. As far as the gators go, not so common this time of year (we only saw one this trip) but come spring and summer, there will be plenty. Our guide mentioned that he had lived and worked in the area all his life (their tour company is family run and goes back 3 generations) and was only aware of two attacks on humans, both of which were provoked by the person.
@@PanhandleHopper Oh! Well, that's good to know! And you're braver than us. We have a GoPro as well and though I know they're supposed to be waterproof... still feels a little dodgy to shove it under water. Hahah.
Lovely trip. As a native Floridian, I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I've never been on the Wakulla. We will have to add it to our "staycation" list.🔆
