Nice review, I like your spontaneous personalities. Just a little comment, beware of tiny spoilers in games like this. At the start of the vid when you were talking about the theme I think you reveal a little bit of the story of the game so people like me that were enjoying the discovery of the theme / story / background got some info we didn’t knew. Not big deal but for some might me more critical than others about spoilers. Keep the good job
I gotttta get this to the table. And I’m loving the new sound quality! :D Great review! I think I’m with y’all…. I have to imagine this’ll be a big hit for us.
I've never had any complaints about the sound and I'm almost always listening to the two of you over my outdated IPhone 7. Haha. I really want to try this game. I love this type of adventure with this particular theme, and I enjoy app-assisted games.
Hahah thanks! Well at least the mic won’t make anything worse! I really think you should give this a try then. I am the same as you, really enjoy all of these put into one (Adventure, app, theme) so I’m confident you will enjoy it also! Let us know when/if you do play and your thoughts on it! - Jeff
Just finished last scenario of base game. Holy crap so chaotic and dynamic compared to the rest. No location tiles all npcs constantly moving and loads of callbacks to the previous scenarios. So so cool. Lobe this game!. Restarting Tomorrow With different characters, I can't wait to get witchwood And the other expansions. This is the only game I wanna play
This looks awesome! I would love to see a list of games that have an app and include things like narration, sound effects, a score, or stuff like that. I really appreciate things like that that take some of the load off AND add to the immersion factor. Thanks!
Forgotten Waters Imperial Assault Descent: legends of the dark Tainted grail Mansions of Madness Regicide Chronicles of Crime Awkward Guests Off the top of my head!
@@FostertheMeeple Wow! Just getting back into the hobby again and I love the idea of the ambiance, and even some "dungeon mastering" done for me. Thanks!
I posted my review of Destinies a couple days ago & I also love it. It is exactly the kind of game I like. I wasn't sure if my wife would like it due to the theme, but she did too. I can't wait to play again!
Like Jeff with Roll and Writes, that's me with AP driven games. Your review plus Dice Tower's 4 Square review has me possibly changing my mind though. If I see it cheap anytime I may pick it up.
Let us know what you think if you do give it a try! I find the price point was a bit shocking for whats in the game, I think I saw it for $39.99? I could be wrong though. Totally understand the app issues - it’s come up a few times, so you’re certainly not alone! - Jeff
The Foster the Meeple Drinking Game: Every time Jamie mentions she has bad eye sight, or cannot read something properly, take a shot. :) She should really just wear her glasses or contacts.
My brothers and I started playing villainous weekly because of Jamie’s review and my love of Disney! I would like more recommendations of games similar. We want to get into board games but don’t want anything way too complicated. What do you guys think would be a good next game to look into playing?
So happy you enjoyed Villainous!! It is a big hit in our household for sure! We are also super pumped you are getting into the hobby! While it’s difficult to know what will be a hit (everyone is different) here are a few Jamie and I think you should check out! Azul Chronicles of Crime Fort Overboss Tiny Towns Space Base All of these play a bit different then the other mechanically - but look in to them and hit us up if you have any questions!!
Would you recommend it with only two players? I’m looking for a campaign game with a good replayability and I’m still scared about gloomhaven jaws of the lion
Great review. We've never played an RPG type of game. I'm so tempted with this though. I'm just wondering if my wife would like it, Suppose there's only one way to find out... 🎲🥃🇬🇧
It’s very thematic with a nice app. But I would say it’s important to pay attention to what’s going on as you might lose sight of objectives if you’re not!!
@@FostertheMeeple Sweet! OK, if you have not yet played it, I HIGHLY recommend Hansa Teutonica! It's an older game that recently got a "big box" reprint, and SUSD did a great review of it. It's one of my favorite games! Would love to see if you guys like it! It really shines at max player count (3 or 5, depending on which side of the board you play on)
@@horoshiHT this is the second time this has been recommended!! I will mention, we are a two-player primary household at the moment. But things are starting to open up here and hopefully can get some action with higher player counts. I think I have to look into this one now! - Jeff
@@FostertheMeeple I’ve played it successfully with 2 players (using the 3rd neutral player that gets in the way) I’ve had fun but there’s not as much tension!
Looks very interesting, but I am super sceptical regarding app driven games because board games help me reduce my screen time. I would really love to try it out but I am not sure if this will be something for me. I didn't have any sound problems before.
Great channel! Keep up the good work! Thanks for sharing! Yeah that's right I do food reviews while on the toilet. My brother does his foody fashion show on my channel also. He wears songs now.
