I have had this image of Aerith Gainsborough built up in my head for decades. And yet Brianna's performance exceeded all of my expectations by leaps and bounds.
You know how there are some characters that you can’t imagine being played by another actor? Sort of like Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man or Hugh Jackman as Wolverine? Brianna White is that for Aerith and John Eric Bentley for Barret
By far the best portrayal of the character. It’s so surreal to me because I actually used to see Briana appear on ReelRejects back in the day, and my mind was absolutely blown like you wouldn’t believe when I found out she was playing Aerith, and to then to hear her absolutely nail it across the board was just something else. What are the odds?
15:50 I could feel the literal chills starting at the top of my neck move all the way down my back from this point on. Up until this point, the events of the game had been somewhat safe and familiar (like the steel sky). But when Aerith starts talking about "changing more than fate itself," the real uncertainty and terror started to set in. This is because the story AS I KNEW IT was SO precious to me. We can all tell ourselves that "we always have the OG game," and whatnot. But this adventure that we're all on together is no longer taking place in the past, in the familiar... And that's terrifying. But I hope that the fact that we all have each other can provide enough comfort and courage to enable us to continue trusting those in charge of this new story, and take these next steps forward together. Bri, even more than the conversation with the flowers, or the dream sequence in Cloud's resolution scene, THIS part of your performance is what truly struck me and has stayed with me for the past two years (and undoubtedly beyond)! I'll never get tired of saying THANK YOU for your love and care for these characters! 🥰
Having not seen or played the original game, I went in blind for this and so I didn't get quite the same feeling. Although I was indeed very nervous when Aerith gave her speech, it was not because of the unknown. For me, the unknown is an old friend when it comes to games. No, the reason I was worried was not because we were altering things, nor that we are breaking fate (which personally I think is determined by individual choices and not by beings such as the whispers). It was because I had no doubt that Sephiroth planned for us to fight the whispers and break fate which means that he intends to shape it to his own will. He sees them as obstacles to the outcome he wants and we have no choice, but to dance to his tune because they are obstacles as well. The fact that the future is a blank page now does not worry me, what worries me is what Sephiroth will do with that blank page and what he will write on it.
you can see the emotions the feelings in Bri´s Face during Aerith speach... the epic music EVERYTHING and that line "There´s No greater threat to the planet than him" I LOVE that line, she know that they must stop Sephiroth because he will erease everything... FFVII means so much for so many of us thank you for all the love to Aerith for bring her to life.💮
Finished Crisis Core. You got 2nd in credits in that. Amazing! You're perfect as Aerith and I'm so happy for you. I hope you are still her VA when part 3 rolls out. They mentioned changing timelines, so i hope Aerith survives this time. I expect you can't disclose how many titles you signed on to do. But i really hope this performance opens up so many doors for you Briana! You more than deserve it. Thank you for making Aerith so, peaceful and loving, in such a dark world. Can't wait for Rebirth!
The way she starts smiling at 13:25 tells you, SHE KNEW. She knew who this was and his significance and importance from the very start! Bri, I love you, your reactions - small and big alike - were my favourite parts of your playthrough. Thank you for sharing it with us! ^^ PS: If you are able to answer this, who did you work with most closely when voicing Remake? As in, fellow voice actors.
We’re so close to the finish now! I don’t want this wonderful series to end! I’ve really enjoyed these uploads over the past few months and now we’re finally at Destiny’s Crossroads. What happens from here, we don’t know, but I’m in for the journey wherever it takes us! 😊💜🌼
Your Voice Lines before the Final Fight: goose bumps everytime. I'm a German and like the German Voices too. But what you Guys did in the English Version is absolut amazing and i want to say thank you for that. ❤️ I played the Orginal 1997 and i learned to read before i got to School because of that Game. To hear Voices now that where almost like i imagne them all this Year's is still absolut amazing for me. FF7 is a Part of my Life since i was 5 now i'm 30 have 2 Kids myself and it is still a part of my Life.
I wish they could do a setup for this game like they did crisis core. Where you can do different equipment and materia setups depending the enemy you are facing
Having not played it and only knowing a few tidbits here and there, my assumption when I got to this part was that from here on out, anything is possible.
Wow what a video and I found this boss intimidating the first time I saw it but what a battle. Aerith so wise, magical and brave, great performance Bri no one could've done it better. And Merry Christmas Bri 😁
As usual, just a perfect performance from you (and the team). The sounds of this game are the sounds I had always imagined - even the fantastic music of the original I built out to orchestral pieces in my head
When I was in 3rd grade all the kids always raved about how good FF7 was. I didn't know anything about it. Now, however many years later, I get it. I think this might be the greatest story ever told.
The whole scene with Aerith's monologue is so darn well done. It gives me chills throughout the whole scene. The music is absolutely phenomenal, too! And about Zack, I don't think Caleb Pierce is doing that bad of a job with his voice on the character. He may not sound like Rick, but I do believe he can pull it off if he has a good script and good direction. I feel like he gets too much hate, the poor guy... sorry, that's just my opinion. Anyway, I'm going to finish this walkthrough once and for all!
Perfect way to end the year. Happy New Year!! I'm also looking forward to your playthrough of Reunion, though I'm going to watch that on your Twitch channel.
Fun Fact: during this fight, the visions you see (like at 39:38) are actually footage from Advent Children, an FF7 movie taking place after the original game. One scene even shows Cloud with a different Buster Sword. Also, you are so cool! Can’t wait to see what you do in Rebirth when it comes out.
And Red XIII in this game said those were "visions of tomorrow, if we fail here today"... That makes me wonder if something seriously wrong happened after Advent Children and Dirge of Cerberus... After all, Dirge of Cerberus did have one loose end... but it wasn't Sephiroth.
@@bardinblue9830 I keep hearing that Humanity died out hundreds of years after 7, and the planet healed itself once they were gone, but I’m not 100% certain of that. Maybe we’re trying to prevent that outcome in the Re Trilogy
@@Twocoolman115 All I can say is that in the scene you're talking about, all we see is an abandoned Midgar where nature has returned. For all we know, humans could be elsewhere in other towns. Although, in Dirge of Cerberus, there is a calamity that is capable of wiping out all life on the planet... but I'm not going to spoil what it is nor whether it succeeds.
This video was phenomenal, it’s the perfect Christmas present! Your entire FF7R playthrough is seriously one of the best you’ve ever done, and your extraordinary performance is the chef’s kiss that makes it that much more unforgettable.
Definitely replay and try to get all the data Intel for Chadley. He has one last Summoning Materia after Leviathan, and it's very helpful given what you're about to face.
Wow! You did a really good job voicing Aerith. As an aspiring voice actor, did you have to go through any formal training or needed a degree to land a role?
The whispers feelt like a harsh parody of fans of the OG. But the love for it is incarnated in Aerith as well. Hesitant to change it. For years, Id wake up on a stressed day and quote agent Smith.. "We are not here because we are free"... I had my job for 10 years, and it was piling up. I finally quit. What will I find on the other side? That monologue means alot.
12:07 Aerith: And you.... You're wrong._________Everything about you is wrong. It took me several years to suddenly realize what Aerith meant by this. Sephiroth is wrong because he was conceived by cells from an extraterrestrial life form. He should not exist.
"Here we are, at the threshold... I'm not sure what we're leaving behind, or what we're moving towards..." "But, Cloud... do we even have a choice?" That's what I'd say if Cloud talked to me. Once, then twice. Oh and yes, that boss fight against the big dumb 6-wheeler needed a redesign and polish. If they really wanted to make it easier and speed things up, they would give us some attack options for Barrett and Red XIII. This fight sucks because we can't take advantage of our equipment, our Materia, or our party members. We are left with very few strategies and choices. And yes, the controls and the camera make it evevn harder. Worst of all... Tifa is always blocking traffic! Urgh 😩
I've been watching all the Plays FF7 videos and this has been a journey, a great one though. I can't wait to see the conclusion/reaction but kind of feeling sad that this is nearing the end.
Want to know what would be so funny? If one of the characters ask, "What is a bench doing all the way out in the freeway? What is this, a video game?" The placement of that bench is way too convenient.
That final part of the game did so utterly felt wayyyy longer than needed; mind got worn before getting halfway through. Can indeed relate to how you felt about the length. In the original, it was just jump-down and out in the world-map after the wheelie boss, but guess they added the Seph fight to make it feel epic.
The fight against the vehicle during Chapter 18 is by far my least favourite boss fight in the whole game. I've only ever defeated it twice. Whenever I play through the game using Chapter Select, I always skip the motorbike sections. They just make me so mad. Which is a shame, because Final Fantasy VII Remake is my favourite game and I really wanna love every single part of it.
