Hahaha whatttt that behemoth jump at the start of the rumble game made my jaw drop. I completely forgot you could do that! Great video btw! I need to set my deadzone settings up now.
Have you tried that new turtle beach stealth ultra controller that uses magnets in the thumbsticks instead of a mechanical connection? They claim it eliminates drift. I'm curious how well it works. I'm also intrigued by the micro-switch face buttons (A/B/X/Y), cuz my Y button is inconsistent and it's annoying AF 😑
I've been using an 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth for my Switch-it has hall effect sticks and it feels great (and no drift thus far). Now I'm just waiting for an Xbox compatible version.
Game sir has nice Hall effect controllers at a real reasonable price. Highly recommend. I would gain stick drift in a month of playing in a regular controller. Bought gamesir approaching a year with no drift yet.
Very helpful video. I use a Razer Raiju Tournament, and its paired application was not able to mess with these settings naturally. I'll mess around with this later.
There seems to be a aim smoothing / sense bug, where aiming feels off, like super loose even tho I play on 5 sense & default 0.12 / 0.13 settings hopefully bungie fixes it, feels like you’re on 10 sense with no stability
This is an awesome video. Perfectly explained to get a jump start into finding what works for you! I have a question/ thought. wonder if we can adjust these settings to counterbalance.. =) certain recoils? here's to hoping DR on Crimson. Sincerely, Controller Joe
At the end of the day, you're adjusting how far you have to start moving your stick to have it actually register. If there is a certain place you like your thumb to be when controlling recoil, try to find that through testing.
@@Manstrual ya I done that a few times. But always comes back weeks later. So I just stop doing it all together, as it was also the time I used to do trials help carry
This might be a little too specific but i want the customizability of titanfall 2 when it comes to controller settings. Like it has ads and hipfire sens, ads and hipfire sens wind up time, extra ads and hipfire sens and deadzones and curves (idk what those even are but i want em) Like it really just has everything
The game should only be as complicated as Bungie can make it. Only when people like me don't need to make videos covering how to use two relatively simple settings should the game get any more complicated. Naturally, though, it will and we carry on anyway. More customization would certainly be nice though.
I really like that they added a deadzone setting at all, but it's weird to me that the settings aren't separate for each stick and that there's only a radial deadzone for the middle position of the stick and not another one for the edges. In Overwatch I have my left stick outer deadzone turned up, which means I get full walking speed before I tilt the stick the whole way (obviously that would be bad for the right stick).
I could turn it all the way up to 3.0 and it will still spin my character. This wasn’t happening before dead zones became available. And it doesn’t happen with any other game. Any clue why this is happening?
@@Manstrual yeah I even had it at 0.6/0.4 it was fine until the last few days it just went crazy. It’s more on the right stick; when I go to the right or to the left and let the stick go it keeps going in whatever direction I was going instead of stopping
Got a sub from me for this ive been told my everyone to go low as possible without really understanding why but you perfectly explained how to set it. I have perfectly downward drift at a really really slow rate almost not there but with your setting help i fixed it
A good thing to note is axial and radial dead zones aren’t mutually exclusive. Increasing the value in one subsequently affects the other. This can be an issue regarding certain corners and edges of input as the overlapping geometry can create unintended areas of unnecessary dead zone. after following those steps exactly, try lowering your radial to see if any drift is present. Great video!
I'm aware, I just don't know the exact configuration of how this game is, so I didn't want to make assumptions. I could have shown graphs, but they would just be generalizations and wouldn't really help the video.
A point to remember is, if you go to low like me 0.00 0.02 your emotes don't work. I found 0.03 is the lowest before emotes stop working. Thanks for the knowledge on how these work. Now I'll redo my deadzones properly 👍
good vid, i slapped em to 0.04 for both and left it, felt good, for sniping but my primary suffered badly, going to have to be a bit more thorough it seems
Same. I quickly gained better smooth snipe tracking and movement, but my primary aim is kinda off because I'm not used to not making jittery movements yet. My target snapping and initial accuracy are way up though. I might end up raising sense so I can always stay in the smooth "nudge"-zone of the sticks and hopefully do faster full turns with full stick pulls. I also feel like the addition of the dead zone settings just increased the skill gap, because ppl can now hone in more on precise micro movements vs speed.
PS5 issue here. if your Emotes stop working go higher on the Deadzone 0.1 per 0.1 step until they work again. I was breaking my Brain thinking why suddenly my emotes dident work anymore, the only thing i changed reasently was deadzone... this cant possible be right?...+0.1 +0.1 Emotes work again 🤣🤪🤪
I wish they would also add gyro aim support for ps4/5 and pc. Playing other games like fortnite, helldivers and more with the added control over accuracy feels incredible
Haven't played D2 on console/controller is forever. Did they just add dead zones? I feel like the last time I played controller that was my main complaint.
What’s your sensitive? I’ve been trying to find a good one for controller.. started high at 16, now I’m tapering back down to 7. I thought I figured it out but after playing the finals for a while I’m back to square one in destiny 😢
I am someone who no matter the game struggles with aiming (idk how people do it in controller). This was soooo helpful. I could never get my crosshair exactly where I wanted but now I can and it’s astronomical.
The effort gamepad users have to go through get parity with a mouse only to still need sticky aim is laughable. how many generations have we had and no console has designed a respectable interface for aiming.
As a reminder, deterministic recoil on the newet weapons means the traditional knowledge on how recoil direction stat works is not as accurate anymore.
It could still be worth either buying a new controller or tearing it down and cleaning out the stick housing (which I've done 7 times for 7 controllers to fix drift) if you have to crank the dead zone extremely high. At least now it's adjustable.
@@Oxboh nah , im just joking around & pointing the fact that bungie adding controller settings is good & all , but they never target the main issue with pvp = ximmers i play mnk 100%
Back in the days of N64 there was no controller sensitivity and deadzone adjustments. I remember my Perfect Dark charachter would do the moon walk if I set my controller down 😂
@@Manstrual wow thats kinda sad, its been a thing for like 15 years now.😆 Better late than never I guess. I am surprised consoles don't have it in their own settings. Or a calibration feature for that matter. I had an SNES clone controller for my dad's Gateway 2000 in 1997 and it had calibration. 🤣
If you have a new controller, the springs are less worn, or if you have hall effect sticks, it could be like that. I know someone who has a new controller and can set it to 0 with no drift, so it's normal. I still wouldn't recommend doing so as it will progressively get worse in the future and you don't want to continue increasing the deadzone to compensate, throwing off muscle memory. Id set it a few clicks above 0 so you don't ever have to relearn it when the day comes that you start getting drift.
Not necessarily true, being able to dodge and get back to cover as well as break aim assist is super nice. You saw what happened against the invis hunter that dodged 😅
Wdym? Because in my opinion the game is unplayable on controller if you are using below 15 sens, myself I have been playing with 20 sens for over a year now and i don't regret it at all.
Ever since I’ve messed with this setting no matter what I put it to even back to default my character is twitching and aiming all over the place. I have no control and I can’t figure out why.
Idc what anyone says. These deadzones ruined the damn game. Either you were good with a controller or you werent. I cant even play the game anymore with the dogshit aim assist they added in.
