Destiny 2 | EVERY PYRAMID CUTSCENE IN DESTINY 2 

They are such an interesting enemy. The hive only seek to kill us, the fallen are scavengers who seek revenge on us for “taking” the traveler from them, the cabal are only conquerors for the sake of conquest, the vex only see us as a thing in their way. The darkness on the other hand doesn’t come to kill us, it comes to teach us. They came in force and just stayed here and every week it gives us a lesson. They arrived under a blood soaked flag of peace and told us how to kill our enemies like they did to us

I remember when we were all meme-ing on the Darkness during Worthy like "Oo, Darkness is coming, they'll get here in a couple more years" and then they arrived the very next season and took our destinations 💀

The story of destiny in a nutshell, *triangles and circles trying to kill each other*

a neat detail i found was when pyramid ships show up for public events they’re hundreds of smaller ships that “phase into” one pyramid. they’re like nanobots!

I just find it hilarious that the pyramids are telling Savathun to go away while trying to communicate with us

As powerful as Rasputin was he was barely an annoyance towards our true enemy. Even tho he was able to restrain xol and Nokris that took all his power and they were mere servants.

It’s crazy to realize that these original cutscenes were foreshadowing the pyramids. All the way back to Destiny 1

Seeing the Pyramids on the Mercury, Io and Mars before they were destroyed gives me chills. I missed this when it happened so seeing how it looked from cutscenes feels really eerie

What I love about the pyramids is that they’ve always been there, and as the time has passed they’ve become more mainstream and more people have learned about them. They were in the destiny 1 concept art (which not many people look at), and then were teased in a couple cutscenes of the D2 story (but they can be hard to notice since they’re not directly referenced except for the last cutscene). Then, they’re part of many side quests including the queens oracle from forsaken, and the invitations of the nine from jokers wild (which not everyone completes). Then when shadowkeep dropped, that’s when everyone knew about the pyramids since they were part of the main story. Now, we have a season about them, and the next couple of years as well. This race is the first that has really struck fear into me, because we’ve seen what the pyramids have done and what they can do. We’re watching as they grow stronger and closer. It really feels like a big enemy because it’s been shown for many years instead of just introduced on a whim in a new expansion. The fact that the pyramids are shown in the old campaign cutscenes show how impactful they are on the world. These other campaigns are very modular since you can do them at any point in time and they won’t have a permanent impact on the world. However, these pyramids really are shaping the environment around us. And the world is being changed for the story, instead of the story for the world. Also, other enemies just wanted to kill us because they saw us as a threat. However, the darkness just wants to toy with us because it knows that it’s more powerful than us. We are nothing but a pawn in their game of chess that has been going on for a very, very long time

this video actually is really useful and interesting, since we see everything we have seen of the pyramids ships... yet

Throughout Destiny 1 and 2 I always thought the Darkness was never a physical thing, just a paracausal entity, but never have I thought why the moon had so much Darkness, since it was so close to the Trailer, since shadow keep I finally understood why, our ancient enemy was at our doorstep the entire time, watching over us, letting the other pyramids know when to strike, but instead we got something else, we went to Europa and learned to harness the power of our enemies, they slowly began to become our teachers, to let us know Light and Darkness are the same

I started doing the old campaigns and seeing those damn pyramids was somehow... Weird?

I’ve always thought the “Travelers Vision” cutscene was the games future in reverse. If you play it in reverse it’s the order of the story. We find the shard. Get our subclass. Get on the Leviathan. Everything after that could be the future it’s teasing. The ships are here of course. But the traveler itself isn’t in Io since that what it looked like in the cutscene. Perhaps in the future it will be?

That cutscene with eris on the pyramid ship touching the statue makes so much more sense to me now

Then you realize the Witness is the one after all this mess. This entity portrayed in that statue inside the Pyramid at the Moon, at first I thought it was a god but its representation, as a phantom covered with a blanket...That was scary. I imagine we will face him in a massive Raid in D3

Every time the Darkness tried to talk "truth" to me, I always thought back to the "Traveler's Dream" cutscene, seeing all those faces of people reaching out in anguish. Families, friends, and loved ones. Men, women, children, even newborns. Their numbers in the trillions, not just with humanity, but the Eliksni/Fallen, then the Cabal, and MANY other species. Then THEY showed up in Sol, all just to prove a point to the Traveler/Gardner that to exist, you must earn it and nearly render us extinct. Then they return and show up with blood-soaked hands of peace? All I had to say to the Black Fleet was this: F**k. Off. Take you twisted sense of peace and shove it back up your paracausal ass. Your salvation to no one but yourselves. You twist the truth to better serve your needs at the expense of LITERALLY everything else around you. In Darkness, the only life that exists is the one that YOU decide gets to live, and at the end of the day, its only yourselves. So Darkness, take your lessons, take your gifts, and your messages to us on how to better our sword logic and go back to the emptiness that you crawled from. Your truths, don't matter to me. The ONLY truth that matters to me, is that I WILL be the one to take you down. Permanently.

From the look to the music and suspense of the pyramid ships they are just absolutely terrifying

I just noticed how the scene with Ikora looking over the Pyramid at 9:47 ends very similarly to the scene in Zavala's office where he looks over to the Traveler at 18:18 even the music is the same, just a scarier version in Ikora's scene I wonder if it's intentional

All im going to say is that the newest dlc made thr darkness seem like a joke before witchqueen i was actually really scared of the darkness because we knew so little about it and it was veg i hope the dlc to come will bring back that fear of the darkness

when i finished shadowkeep that cutscene at 11:23 made me really anxious...that smile kinda made me worried for eris....i hope that it just means eris though of a way to use the darkness to our advantage.....and that nothing bad happens to her........well anything worse than what she's already been through

Woh, I just realized. Shadowkeep and Beyond Light were never supposed to happen. In the original plan for Destiny it was supposed to go Forsaken then Witch Queen then Destiny 3. Now that Bungie is an independent studio instead of going with the original plan it’s now Forsaken then Shadowkeep then Beyond Light then Witch Queen then Lightfall. Originally we were supposed to get D3 this year. Since I’m sure that Activision made Bungie work on D3 before the split I’m pretty sure they’re gonna take what was originally intended for D3 and just put it in D2 in Beyond Light. Beyond Light is our D3. The campaign for Beyond Light is our new vanilla D2. The ending scene of the original vanilla D2 literally gives it all away.

While I think the darkness in itself isn't evil, I do think it leads down the path of corruption a hell of a lot easier. There's a line we have to walk and keep the balance of light and dark. The Pyramid ships tell us what they want us to hear, or what someone else wants us to hear...

Ok so thought, the traveler has been doing blessing civilizations for centuries yet no one here’s about how those civilizations did after the traveler left? *health ledger joker* “ this is all part of the plan” where the traveler weakens its self builds an army and watches as it grows more powerful once the power is overwhelming it sends out a signal that it’s time for the darkness to purge and the cycle repeats

It always bothered me that the Traveler's awakening spammed the entire galaxy in... Well we don't know how long. But considering speed of light and the Galaxy's size, doesn't seem like it would reach the Pyramids in a reasonable time. But in the end I always reason myself that it is special light that transcends normal light. Some spaceywacey stuff.

Ok so I’m trying to make sense of this. The darkness nearly killed us, the Traveler saved us. Then the darkness seeks us and deemed us worthy. I’m still having mixed feelings about the darkness. I see the dark and light in Destiny the same thing. It’s who wields it that makes them the ally or the enemy.
