After crafting Lumina and reading Nothing Ends, I can imagine how impactful this storyline would have been as a fleshed-out campaign.

The Dredgens’ story is just one of the most interesting ones in Destiny, and I’m so happy that you’ve covered it! From Dredgen Yor’s days, to Shin’s plan with the Dredgens, to our part in this story, it’s all so cool. I just hope we can meet Shin at some point, either in just a cutscene or two, or even as a new NPC for something. Awesome vids, Byf!

This is why I love Bungie's story telling. They have this great ability to tell stories like this that rarely other companies can do in a game. I still wish it wasn't hidden this much though.

Amazing video. Dredgen Cull might now join the ranks for me as one of my favorite gaurdians in the lore. Saint 14 of course being at the top. I had no idea the sacrifice that was made to keep the fight going. I couldn’t imagine sacrificing that much for the world to only think you were a villain. When in fact to you and a few others know the truth behind your existence and sacrifice. Powerful.

As soon as we learned about Shin's involvement with the Shadows, I always felt as if Callum was in on the plan: acting as if he had truly fallen to Darkness to help bring out the weak-willed, and maybe even acting out his death. On that note, if his ghost is still alive, why can't he just come back?

I'm writing some books and as a Dredgen in game I've devoted HUGE amounts of my time studying them AND trying to study all of Destiny from that viewpoint and then document what I find, think, theorize. So please do more of these whenever you can Byf youd be doing me a HUGE favor

When you were at GuardianCon, this is the story I was so excited about & telling Twitter to get you a PS4.(after your friend said he had one lol) Really happy you did a video on just this portion. Great story that nobody is talking about. The whole season of drifter, everything with Shin, always thought we knew how it played out. Just awesome writing.

Honestly, the more I learn about anything Shadows of Yor/Darkness/Nine related, the more I begin to hate the Drifter (in a good way) with how ignorant he truly is...I regret siding with him in the allegiance quest now.

As much as I’ve had an interest in the shadows of Yor, I’ve kind of wonders how much time passed between Azzir going to the moon and killing Xyor’s knight and taking the bone, to him actually hearing whispers and becoming Yor. Was he apart of the twilight Gap and it spoke to him more? Or maybe the Great disaster or some events in between. I wonder what was going on that truly made him slowly make this transition

I love destiny's lore so much!! I remember one time I lfg'd for a raid group and once I got in someone asked a question about oryx (he didnt play D1) and I went on about the great disaster and the fight against the vex and Crota I talked about oryx and the sisters the giant wave and how Crota was killed I talked about eris and her fireteam and the other 5 people used a sitting emote around me and listened for so long didnt speak a word and just listened they loved it so much and I think it's so fun to just sit and tell people about destiny's history and I think they enjoyed it too because once I finished talking they started clapping irl and cheering😂😂 omg I love destiny (btw I played D1 and was really into it too but no one else besides 1 guy in the fireteam played it)

Hey Byf I was wondering if there is a possibility that Cayde-6 wanted to use the darkness as a weapon with the evidence for that in the audio recording that he left for the drifter were he says “Oh and I had that idea ages ago” and with the line from Callum ”And the Vanguard... They approve?” and for those of you who say, but Vale said “No. They say the playacting will foster genuine hatred” I just what to know if Cayde-6 wanted to use the darkness as a tool.

It's fascinating the lengths that Shin and the Shadows will go to to draw out those drowned in darkness. Shin and Bane are the greatest manipulators. As for Cull, his sacrifice may be the most pivotal if we too are to turn to the grey between light and dark. Just wish the other Shadows got as much story as Cull did

I'm still at odds with the idea of a middle path between darkness and light. Two ultimately opposing forces being used in tandem with each other to aid the virtuous good combat the corrupt evil. It's a hard line to walk in sure.

Do we know if there's a limit on how long a guardian can be dead for before their ghost can't bring them back? Could Callum come back at some point?

This scheme was incredibly intricate... It certainly bore the fruit Shin had hoped for. What's even nuttier is that the Vanguard knew all this was happening and raised no objections... Zavala may have a lot more weighing on him than we believe. Either way, long live Sol.

Reminds me of Cayde 6. I'd turn to the darkside to avenge Cayde 6. I will plunge head first into the Abyss stare at the Void and steal all of its secrets, all to hunt down the man responsible for his death. I will kill the crow and his ghost.
