Small mistake in the Ashur Observation lore card. It mentions he fires a railgun but to fire it he charged magnetic coils. Railguns don't fire using magnetic coils. They use magnetic rails, hence the name. Magnetic coils are used by Gauss Rifles, also called Coilguns. Both use electromagnetic forces to propel a projectile but do so in different ways. It's like saying a longbow and a crossbow are the same thing.

wild theory, but what if the pyramids have time bending capabilities? we know it's possible because of mars and the witch queen campaign, plus the enigma glaive what if the shots that asher well, shot, at the pyramid weren't just disapearing and being held in a field? but instead, being phased out of time and existing in two timelines at the same time, giving the illusion of a vanish what if the witness didn't just vanished those worlds and moons? but instead, rolled back time enough using the pyramids to a timeline where those same planets and moons don't exist what if we use that power in some capacity to erase pyramids from our timeline? or send them to another? what if our guardian is the security officer from marathon, which is also the marine in pathways into darkness? and an entity chosen by a higher power to keep the balance and peace in a reality doomed by a great horror? Ghauls victory over us was largely in part due to the Nine themselves interfering and Thanos’d our sensor array we used for early detection. If the Nine hadn’t intervened, we likely would have crushed Ghauls assault

Imagine Bungie taking fan favorite lore pieces and turning them into animated episodes like the Battle of Twilight Gap or even what the visual is of the collapse...or when clovis bray discovered stasis....one day please...

Heres a thought. If the missiles are still "there" and, while not observable physically, we can still detect that they are there in some form or another. So what if we just keep shooting nukes at it? Its gotta run out of space eventually, right? (this may or may not be a serious suggestion. Mostly just for the goofs though)

What if this defense works because of the witness himself? What if during the dlc where the invasion happens, we find a way to disrupt the defenses and all the previous attacks (from Rasputin, etc.) Suddenly make contact.

I don’t know why The Darkness just doesn’t end this war. What is the Vanguard gonna do? Make The Witness do lost sectors or public events until they die?

So the ships displace anything fired at them from realspace. And they displace planets if they want form realspace.

We can’t but we all know the one entity that can. Telesto. But we must give it tribute so it may aid us in our fight against the Witness.

First idea: have a team of Guardians raid a pyramid, destroy it and turn it into a gun. Second idea: Have Guardians use their Light on a REALLY big gun.

I know it's not really Destiny's style, but I really wish we knew more about the various spacecraft. Like, detailed technical specifications and stuff. (Edit: Slight rephrasing to make my meaning clearer.)

I miss Asher. It always made me smile whenever he said "Don't die" as I was leaving him. He was crusty old guy, but he had a good heart. Also, he was surprisingly bad-ass.

I think Rasputin got wrecked because he lacked any paracausality, but this thought reminded me of something: the Light-charged Valkyrie. I think such a weapon, charged with enough paracausal power, would be precisely what we need to take down a pyramid ship

A great way to explain Paracausality is explaining the cause. When a trace rifle's trigger is pulled, chemical reactions, discharging batteries, graviton generators, or some kind of force generates the Solar, Arc, or Void energy that gets projected towards the enemy. The energy has a source. A specifc cause, which can create a specific effect. When a paracausal entity ignites their weapon, there is nothing about the hammer, the sword, the handgun, whatever, that can be pointed to that specifically wreathed the weapon in Solar energy. There is no specific cause according to the universe. The paracausal entity's _will alone_ is enough to be the cause.

The "shielding" that the Pyramids use appears to function as a Quantum lock, effectively removing it from being observed by the observable universe, causing it to be unable to reach its destination in the same way matter cannot reach the center of a black hole, but can only hover upon its accretion disk (it effectively prevents a wavefunction collapse into any outcome possible by probability, it does them all and none of them, locked in the moment before observation forces a deterministic decision). It would also explain why the objects don't disappear entirely and become momentarily observable (albeit indirectly) again when the defensive systems activate. Cabal Anti-Paracausal technology like the cage only seem to be effective on extensions of the paracausal force, hence why it is critically effective against ghosts but the Traveler, after it woke up, just blew up the Cage entirely.

Wasn't SIVA able to suppress the light (paracausal power) within the guardian? Would SIVA be effective against the Darkness as well? Should Rasputin reclaim control of SIVA (using the nanites from Outbreak Prime and giving them the directive to create more replication chambers, and ultimately replicate themselves), could it be used to fight the darkness too?

Plot twist: What if the Pyramids aren't pyramid? What if they're cubes? The lore card for Ashur: Observation has the picture of a square looming over a circle, the circle being the planet Ashur is one. While the bottom half of the square is likely the pyramid's shadow, what if it's not? What if the same force that allows the "pyramid" to make projectiles fired at it stop being visible also applies to the ship itself and it actually has an invisible lower half, a "shadow" half. The word Darkness refers to the absence of light and therefore things we can't see. What better ship for the Darkness than one we can't see?

This kind of sounds like the “Nucleus” in the show The Expanse. It would stop things going at a certain speed inside the ring gates and also could learn and adapt to things we did to it.

In my view, the Cabal and Rasputin working together will be our best shots against the pyramids. Paracausal forces we may command, and it will be necessary to challenge the Witness and their disciples directly, but for the coming war against the black fleet, it will take the supreme actions of causality to shatter their armies. Quite simply put, while a nova bomb is nice, we can't make nukes. How do we execute this strategy? Simple, find a way of recreating the Cage, and projecting it out over a wide area of space, possibly using the Leviathan as a base and power source for such a projector. This will disable the pyramid ships. Then follow it up with planet crackers. Based on how the Cabal operate within physics, I'm guessing these are RKMs, relativistic Kill Missiles. I don't care how tough your armor is, when you're hit by something going lightspeed, you die. The Witness will doubtless unleash truly enormous forces against the projector, requiring a sturdy defense by the guardians, but if we can hold it and immobilize the black fleet, Rasputin and the Cabal can unleash truly awesome forces against it. This tactic could be used to badly bloody the Black Fleet, perhaps opening a chance for us to launch a strike at their heart, to smash open their flagship, board it, and personally kill the Witness. And then promptly make it into a gun.

In Mass Effect, Shepard used a device called the "Crucible" to wrek the Reapers...Vanguard already has a Crucible, server bane...just sayin...

In the Sleepless lore tab, Sjur has a dream about Mara splitting a pyramid ship in half with her bare hands... It would make for a great cutscene!

The description of Rasputin's weapons are very intriguing. The Gravity/Black hole one sounds like a large scale version of Graviton Lance or some kind of anti-matter bomb... I wonder if that's where the technology came from? That said to knock out a Pyramid is basically 5 step process: Step 1: Deactivate Stasis field (pun intended) Step 2: Use Mars Enclave to Replicate several high yield thermonuclear warheads (Tsar Bomba sized) Step 3: Transmat into Pyramid ship the weapon payload like in Stargate (the movie) Step 4: Watch the fireworks... Step 5: Make sure this happens in space or bad things happen.

But what if we hijack a Pyramid and ram another one? Are they built to survive the lowest IQ solution?

We need matching paracausal power to fight a pyramid? Easy fix. Just shoot some Thunder Crash Titans with Cuirass out of a big ass canon. A big, living, paracausal bullet.

From the after credits scene at the end of the original campaign there was the first showing of the black fleet but also a much larger pyramid they were surrounding. Is that just the main ship of the black fleet where the witness is or is that the actual vessel of the darkness like the traveler? And are the pyramid ships just made in its image?

For me,the pyramids do feel like a treat for Destiny and gaming in general,were there is the possibility of losing,and badly,with the lore and the simple yet fascinating explanation on why it can't be destroyed makes me nervous.If Mara Sov did in fact destroyed one,how much firepower or what was the strategy she used?,what type of technology or spells she had to apply to destroy the pyramids? questions like these makes me happy knowing deep down, Bungie are writing a powerful enemy in gaming Keep up the good work

Hear me out, we get Siva next season it overruns the other side of the helm. They make us go to past mars via those tears in reality to restore Rasputin. I can’t imagine that those tears in subspace won’t have some sort of meaning or use before light fall

I havent watched the full thing yet, im about 20 seconds in, and i have a theory on how they are so strong, they are the shaped as a triangle/tetrahedron, which are very strong shapes, and they are symmetrical, which would make them stronger. As well as them being paracausal.

I feel that the best analogy to what the Cabal did is to effectively put a jamming signal in an effective area. This doesn't mean it absorbs any particular power, but somehow "roots" reality in place. This is kinda like how in a double slit experiment with electrons, observing them changes their behaviour. The pyramids may "restructure" itself out of infinite possible shapes, but with the devices observe a "single" shape the pyramids temporarily loses this ability to metamorph in the device's area of influence.

the 'red space' lore entry gave me shivers, IT'S just so bad ass! We need a season with Rasputin and I guarantee he will be pissed and will stop at nothing until he wins or he will die trying.

So, having seen the Lightfall reveal and coming back to this video…I am now seriously wondering what the hell the Cloudstriders are smoking on Neomuna.

Are you going to do any speculation on the Lightfall trailer that shows a Cloud Strider actually doing damage to one of the pyramids?

Wait, hold up. Does this mean that if the pyramid ships move anywhere the warheads and rail rounds are still stuck to/near them? Will there be some sort of event at some point where we use our paracausal abilities to cause the witness to flinch and trigger the rounds to reappear and suddenly a random pyramid ship goes off like a supernova?

Also worth nothing, this notion of "Paracausal power preventing damage" is something every player engages with, every day in Destiny. It's the player's power level. (Or "Light level" if you're old fashioned) From D2 vanilla armor flavortext, entries for Cosmic Wind (Green rarity Warlock boots & Gloves) "How does Light make you tougher? Bullets strike your armor and then decide they didn't." & "Experimental guardianists speak of "levels," breakpoints in Guardian skill, and resilience." So yeah, when your guardian is a higher power level, it's an indicator of how much Light they can use to 'cheat' death by averting shots that would have otherwise hit or been lethal. Curious, eh? We've been using the same trick as the Pyramids all along, just on an individual basis.

Theory: it isn't about destroying the pyramids, it's about controlling them. The only way to control a pyramid, is to defeat it's previous lord through Sword Logic. When we defeated Rhulk through Sword Logic, the pyramid began to crumble because our intent was to make the pyramid crumble, and it has slowly been doing such. The Europa pyramid may be looking for a new host muck like the moon pyramid was with Calus, only it gave us challenges to prove our worth in lieu of a host to fight by Sword Logic. Lightfall may not be about the Traveler falling, but instead may be about us taking control of darkness at it's core. If my theory stands, then taking control of the Europa pyramid may be the key to defeating the other pyramids through dangerous means. But if light must fall to allow us to survive... Then so be it.

Just a thought, the last two seasons have had scorn cabal and hive as the enemy which makes it more likely we’ll get taken vex or fallen as the enemy of the next season or two. This video made me think since the vex are a marvel in of themselves and the fallen have some impressive technology such as the splicer gauntlet it may be possible that our guardians might look for a solution to the problem you bring up in the video such as stealing fallen or vex technology to gain the ability to imbue paracausal energy into a weapon of some sort. Either that or they could go to the hive or some taken force to figure out a magical way to deal with the pyramid ships but who knows. We’ve never had a real voiced conversation between the characters about what they’ll do when the time comes to really duke it out with the forces of the witness other than that a way to win needs to be found. Maybe the lack of preparation we’ve seen during these seasons following witch queen is on purpose and we really will lose when light fall comes, possibly we may lose at the end of the season leading up to light fall. I feel like with the way things are going it would just make since if we finally had a major loss just like cayde. Maybe not a character death but something extreme such as our light getting taken away again or the city being effected somehow which would be a good way to introduce new darkness powers that we’ll need to utilize while our light has been stripped. Just thinking about the wild things that might happen has me very excited for the next couple seasons and light fall and I can’t wait to find out all the interesting stories both leading up to and after light fall from our lore expert byf. I also just thought about it but one of the seasons might end with us entering the Traveller since it seems that it’s similar to the pyramids and has an interior based on it’s scar.

The Cabal tech really is quite amazing. I'm surprised it doesn't get focused on more. They're interstellar, highly advanced, and able to actively mess with paracausal forces while being entirely causal themselves. Thats frankly ridiculous levels of tech. Golden age humanity couldn't do that. We were barely colonising the whole solar system, and while we had studied paracausal entities and in the case of Clovis actually managed to enhance Stasis, we couldn't control it or mess with it. Exo's are the most advanced thing golden age humanity ever made, and even they are just causal. The radiolaria has been altered by paracausal forces but this happened entirely "naturally". The hive are interstellar, but their FTL travel is magical. Humanities current jumpship tech has trouble getting beyond the Reef. The cabal managed to transport something like the Almighty from one star system to another. They managed to build the Leviathan. The fact that we haven't reverse engineered their jump drive tech is actually a bit of a blind spot. The Fallen are also interstellar, but they impression I get from their tech is that its not much faster or better than ours, they just followed the Traveler to our system slowly. They couldn't maintain an interstellar empire, travel would take too long. The Cabal meanwhile actually can. They can travel from one star to another, without paracausal power, in a short enough time to hold an empire. Its a borderline plot hole that both humanity and the Fallen aren't more obsessed with reverse engineering the Cabal technology, especially given the way so much of the Cabal tech is interchangeable due to their use of an all purpose fuel/oil liquid. Their understanding of the universe might even arguable exceed the Vex, as the Cabal managed to do the impossible and steal the light, something not even the Witness' disciples have been able to do.

My dude, I mentioned this in the last video, you just got to use Mara Sov's, Queen of the Deus ex Machina power of tellnotshowjitsu. She already destroyed one of the fleet, I know you know that because you read the lore on a video. You just overthink sometimes my man, and that's okay I still love you. But using Mara's Slay-Queen-Slay Powers ought to do the trick.

If you turned off that field... would all the things ever fired at it suddenly go back into motion? Asher mir's railgun? Warminds singularities? Suicide mission for whoever is at the crosshairs, but...

Would it be wise to destroy one if a way were found? Think of the Dreadnaught’s engine core. A pyramids destruction could release untold energies. Wait, why am I reminded of the obliterated future we saw in the Sundial?

I doubt this is the case but imagine in light fall we (our guardian) gets seduced by the darkness and we end up becoming a disciple of the witness and we would be like the ultimate disciple cause we beat Oryx, Croat, Savathun, Calus, Ghaul, Vault of Glass, Wrath, and killed the first disciple of the witness. The vanguard/last city/guardians would be terrified at the sight of us fully consumed by the darkness and our guardian ends up destroying the last city and the pyramid ship that takes the place of the traveller is our pyramid and the whole campaign is us going plane to planet killing guardians and ends of with us gaining back control of our mind and we get destroyed by the witness and left to die but get consumed by the light in like a sort of all light subclass and final shape would be our redemption. Basically light fall would be like infinity war and final shape would be endgame.

Watch Bungie implement "Guardian houses" by shifting a pyramid's link over to our guardian. It would be the new tribute hall, but we would have space enough to store actual raid bosses. Riven casually hanging on a wall. Watch there also be invasions constantly, which acumulated to a 20 minute mission where you have to clean them out, similar to the mission at the start of Vow, and if not, you loose housing space

Egrigor could be a possible avenue in which to DMG the pyramids. When it burns it's said to disrupt darkness tech so using it on missiles paired with a proximity triggered incendentary may provide us with a delivery system for other weapons like nukes or drop pods

Just a quick note: stasis crystals are not ice but are, as referred to in the game, “stasis matter”. I personally believe it is condensed crystalline dark matter but that’s just my own imagination

Destroying one is simple. Just slap an Australia post delivery sticker and a few stamps on it and boom! You have a pile of black ship parts delivered directly to the tower.

I don't normally post on yt vids, but I want more vex. The entire idea that the vex are non paracausal and still manage to show up and throw down should be frightening.

if siva can create anything couldnt it create a cage equal of ghaul? imagine light supressive siva or if rasputin ever takes control of it back maybe we could rework the entire traveler cage to work against darkness and if siva really can construct anything its power is yet to be fully realized i assume that the only thing siva cant make is paracausal things but the cage ghaul built isnt

So the vex can time travel in a way so what if a person or fireteam with a vex expert travels to a reality slower than ours and came out when the ahamkara were still alive and made a wish for a peracousal weapon powerful enough to destroy perimids. Than travel back to a vex portal on Venus and step into a reality moving faster than ours and step out at the perfect time to enter back into ours. We could then use this weapon to destroy them.

It makes me so sad i cant play Destiny anymore. I mean i could, but i dont have anyone to play the game with. Cant do raids or even just hang out in the tower with a homie.

If asher mir could deduce what the ships were doing to the objects fired at it, then given time rasputin could reverse engineer that and even make his own shields of a similar nature.

My best guess on how light and dark works is energy and frequency, which would explain how the pyramid ships are essentially invulnerable, they match the resonating frequency of the projectiles and nullify them with the inverse frequency pretty much removing the threat of the projectiles but meaning that of the inverse frequency was to the removed then the projectiles would no longer have their existence nullified, how ever this is just a crackpot theory that I got wile looking at how darkness is similar to frequency in general and light is pretty much just energy being manipulated in different ways.

Given the Black Fleet's energy signature is gravimetric instability, I suspect the pyramids create a small pocket dimension of folded space right before the point of impact, and shunts the projectile or attacking energy into that folded space, where it will eventually dissipate.

Warlock: We can't just shoot them. Guns can't shoot "darkness" directly. Hunter: Why don't we just make a gun that ""shoots "darkness" directly" then? Warlock: Out of what, genius? Titan: Savathun.

I feel the best way to circumvent the pyramid barriers is through the ascendant plane. Instead of going through the barrier we just have to appear on the other side of it 🤷‍♂️

My theory when it comes to the pyramids is that they were sitting above the cradles for so long to nullify the Light on those planets, and when the time came for the planets to disappear, they simply extended that field that held Asher’s projectiles in stasis to a planetary scale. Personally, I think the key to getting the planets back is some evolved version of Deepsight, that allows us to peer through the field that the Pyramids put up, and somehow breach that field to destroy the Pyramid from within, therefore reclaiming the planets.

I find it interesting how the pyramids seem to have an event horizon around them, where things can't be seen but are still there because the light is being sucked in due to gravity. I imagine we can get inside only because they allow us, and in rhulks case chances are it worked either because it was crashed and broken or in savathuns throne world.

Didn’t Rasputin take one out on that season of the almighty or arrivals cutscene? He fires the big beam and the pyramid disappears from the radar and another one disabled Rasputin? Or did I misunderstand that cutscene?

What if we just fire a nuke at the pyramid and before the pyramid reacts a transmat engine (?) or whatever it is teleports the nuke into the pyramid where the nuke instantly explodes? Not saying it is going to work but its worth a try

Hypothetically, how about the Dreadnought’s core? If I remember correctly, detonating the Dreadnought’s core could take out most of the system. Could that work to destroy a Pyramid ship? Or perhaps, and entire fleet?

I wonder if Rasuputin is going to be made into a Guardian, while Ana Bray uses the same trick Savathun used to regain her memories to restore Rasputin's memories. While Rasputin won't have the resources to make weapons like it once did, it will be able to craft weapons that a paracausal in nature and can hit a Pyramid ship. Or even make ships to rival a Pyramid ship.

Paracausality or anything of paracausal nature is simply Destiny's sci-fi name for magic. To create something from (literal) nothing. To have an effect without any cause. To do an action and have absolutely zero re-action. It's the power of gods and imagination. It's simply, magic.

So we are to believe that these pyramid ships are so unbelievably strong and yet we sacrificed Rasputin because the lowly (sarcasm) warsat system was going to nuke the Traveller, another paracausal power?

Crazy theory Maybe the last mission on the final shape eris has discovered some vitus we can put onto the mother ship so in a last ditch attempt ikora and zavala have infiltrated the mother ship upload the virus and the pyramid ships slowly all shut down and are destroyed but whilst this is happening our last 2 original vanguards cannot escape and we see them distingrate.
