This vid is like having a bud who's played Destiny 2 for years walk you through your first few hours of the game, explaining and answering every question you have. I've probably watched the same amount, time wise of other YT'rs 'Beginners Guides' and have learned much more from your video.
As a newcomer I found this video very helpfull - you’re making it understandable and easy to understand. This saves me from asking a lot of beginner questions in my clan 😂

Was a bit worried when I saw the length of this video, but this is the best guide I’ve watched so far. The time stamps make it awesome for those of us that understand certain aspects but are looking for more guidance in other areas.
My brother and I just started Destiny 2 today and bought Beyond Light along with it. We couldn't put it down for 8 hours straight lol Will be watching this tonight before work, thanks brother ✌🏽

Thank you for this comprehensive video. I have dabbled with destiny so many times but always struggled to understand it, now I feel like I can well and truely get into it as I have been wanting to.
How often do they change... everything? 😂 I just started yesterday, got through to the tutorial missions to the first guardian rank-up as a Hunter and I was granted a solar sub class and perks, and the missions went a little bit differently as far as where I got my first items and weapons. But this is a very useful video. It seems they realized the new player experience was a little vague and directionless and added some guidance but this vid really helped me understand what everything means and does.
it also depends what playing the game on for the amount of things that's free. For me I'm just public events and bounties and dares of eternity because that's all that's free for me.
This is.......an astounding amount of work you've put into this man, many thanks for producing such a comprehensive look at this game. I always seem to be late to the party - with gaming it's more by design, since very few games are anywhere near ready I usually will wait months or longer depending on how things go 🙍 ....still, I didn't intend to be -this- late to the party with Destiny. I think I wrote it off years ago and regretted it so much I bought a copy, so I could experience it for myself. Plus, I've been away from science fiction for too long, need to get into space 😬
I have a question, my blue armour is greater than legendary armour so should I use blue armour till I find a legendary armour greater than 60? Also do I always equip higher stats mainly?

Hi OS, once again, very helpful video, thanks so much! It would be great if you could make a video about build strategy or at least explain when the right time would be to start looking for the right items and loot. For example, do I just don't worry about loot until I hit the max power level. There seem to be so many different aspects like "speres of might", elemental well" and so on, it's hard to understand the mechanics and synergies. Happy easter everybody!
Honestly a fantastic idea! It will take me a few days but I am going to get started working on a few videos in this vein. There are several aspects to creating a build, so I will make some specific videos on each aspect and also a larger one covering alot of the smaller points in general terms and outlining the bigger picture. Thank you for the idea, or well for the 8 or 9 ideas I just got off that one suggestion :) Please keep any other suggestions or concerns coming as I am trying to build a massive playlist new players can use as a resource but as a very experienced player I often find it hard to figure out exactly what they need. Over 4000 hours in the game tends to make you overlook some stuff as "givens" no matter how hard I try to think critically around it and not miss stuff. Thanks again!
i think they really need to streamline the experience better. seems like a brand new account isnt quite SO bad, but as a returning player that hasnt played since before forsaken, it just dumps you in and I have no clue whats going on lol
There is so damn much info in this game... it can genuinely be overwhelming for me at times... and i have thousands of hours invested. its sadly not possible at all anymore. you can play the campaigns in order, but 90% of the quests and missions and that linked everything together are long gone :( seasonal content and stuff just last inside of a set 12 month period... and then its gone forever. all you can do now is play the story for whatever DLC you buy, and just hop into the missions as you unlock them :)

Come on even if you do have your own sparrow you drop your dump it and you can jump on a pike because they have guns not to mention they have those side arm I don’t watch a column kind of bouncing Betty balls like grenades you can apply this to pikes are quite useful once you learn how to use them and there’s always some around all over in various places for you to grab
How the hell do i start beyond light dlc? This game has the worst menu system i have ever seen. So fucking confusing making it insanly hard to get into for new players
2 options. Not sure which one will be for you so try both. 1st option: go to destinations/europa/ then look on the bottom middle or right for a mission. This should start the dlc for you. 2nd option: destinations/tower/ when you appear in the tower walk 5 steps forward and then look to your left. You will see the post master. Walk until you a few steps I'm front of the post master and then look left. You should see a green icon on the wall right beside the stairs. This is the quest archive. Check all of the tabs and see if there is a mission there to start beyond light. These should help, best of luck!
Ive been playing and i had to make a new account so i lost everything and i can use my light like my power up where its a one hit kill i forget what its called
I am not actually sure what you are asking so if this response does not help then try to give me a little more info and I will do my better to see If that helps :p Way points are based on YOUR active quest. So if your teammates on different quests, and they are the leader and not you... it will show you a way point for their quest. You guys can gain progress together, but its based on whatever the fireteam selects. So if you are the least further along, they should make you the fireteam leader.. you guys will redo a few missions but you will catch up to where they are and you can all progress together. Least further along player always fireteam leader :)
most stuff is the same honestly. The only major change would be that armor elements no longer exist, so its has simplified mods. unless you can think of something specific, i cant thing of anything that changed and made everything in this guide null. you can still apply mods the same way on individual pieces, or you can use the new mod screen for all of your armor (tab to the right on the character menu). There is a new feature that allows you to save loadout builds (tab to the left on character menu), but its not super important for really new players. the only thing i can think of that is coming to mind now... is the new guardian rank system? is that what is confusing you because none of that existed when i made this guide? i would really love it if you could reply and provide some more detail or even join into a discord call and talk about what your struggling with as a new player and i will gladly help.. because i have well over 5,000 in this game and i not sure what changed exactly for the new player experience with lightfall.. but if this video is no longer useful i would absolutely love to get some feedback that would help me make a new and improved one. I am totally willing to help and learn more about the new player experience from a different perspective :)
Hi, thank you for the video, is very complete and very sure it will be helpful on the mechanics of the game. what I don't understand is where tf is the story mode? (i'm f2p no expansions) I been hours trying to figure out where is the storyline path and everytime and ended up without knowing where I should go next. Now I'm reading that 2018 campaing is off so I can't play it. Does the f2p it's just a demo? there's no more storyline to complete? I tought that there was a "vanilla" destiny 2 story and if I wanted to continue after that then I have to buy beyond light or the others expansions. Maybe you can just clarify this to me. I find it quite stupid that the game is so ambiguous for new players unless the f2p it's there just to see if it runs the game...
The only F2P story is the one I showed in this video. A few years ago there were several story's for F2P... but bungie deleted half the game at the launch of beyind light. So currently you just do this story shown and then you get into the game itself. You complete quests, farm for loot, level up your power, unlock exotics, try the free to play dungeon and raid, and play pvp. There is a large chunk of the game available for free... but eventually you will need to spend money if you want fresh content. Hope this helps!
Can’t you configure a ghost to pick up glimmer at out to a certain distance seems like I may be wrong I’m actually not actively playing I’m just thinking about jumping back in but it seems like you used to be able to get ghost that would do that natively right now you have to do you know configure him use up some energy
i wish! Sadly it is not possible. all you can do with you ghost is earn more glimmer for actions, up to 65%. if it could auto collect i would always have that on :P
@@OrdinarySense Yeah I was just looking at that a few minutes ago I was not at home when I said that and I just masterwork to a ghost and saw that that you can just increase the glimmer drop but not pick it up
Hey, every class still has 3 supers right? I'm a returning player and stopped playing soon after shadowkeep came out. I got all the mote things that unlock a third super for each subclass for each of my characters but that was on ps4. I play on pc and merged my account before rebuying forsaken and I didn't get my third supers. I bought forsaken again and still don't know how to reobtain my third supers. Even when talking to Ikora she only has two supers for each subclass and I have them all unlocked. Am I missing something?
the OG supers were "reworked" and they called it "3.0". when they did this they updated the supers for each element and character. They got rid of the 3rd super, leaving 2 options for each. stasis only has one, and strand probably only has 1 as well. hope this helps!

I have to ask - why spend minutes on things about upgrading guns that we do not need to know or do - you say so, that the master stuff is no longer relevant - but you just flash past without mentioning practical items like how the heck do you dismount from the sparrow, or any vehicle? It's a real question, because so far, the only way I've been able to get off a pike or the sparrow is by getting killed. E gets me on the ride, but it doesn't get me back off.
never really thought about getting off, I think I just press spacebar to jump. I haven't played in quite some time so I am a little fuzzy on possible changes that might have occurred around the time I made this video or afterwards for masterworking, is there a specific timestamp you wanted an explanation for? Sorry i couldn't remember more, i really haven't played the game much in the last 1.5 years... they kind of annoyed and lost me with lightfall... it was terrible at launch and i really couldn't be asked to play the game anymore.

lots of little things like that often take a while to notice or someone more experienced pointing it out. i cannot even begin to explain how many seemingly obvious things i did not know even thousands of hours into the game until someone told me haha destiny is really weird like that. around 1.5 years ago they changed it, but if you had an account before that then you may not have triggered 'a guardian rises'. You can check this in your quest tab, and looking for a quest with that title. If you do not have that quest in your tab, you can go to the tower/way forward about 5 steps and turn left/walk to the wall/turn left/walk in-between the stairs and the wall/open the 'Quest Archive'/Then take 'The Guardian Rises" quest. it is not a complete walk through, sorry. I originally did that, but it was around 5 hours long.. so i am doing the quest in the background, but i come in and out with tips and direction where i felt it was needed. That is why i stress so many times to 'track' your quest and pull up your ghost in game to show you the current direction to head. if you have any questions i will do my best to answer them!
I feel that honestly. I find myself moving on to other games in-between content drops even though I have plenty of stuff I could do... but its just not a fun game to play solo. I would highly recommend finding a clan or a community discord to do activities with people and maybe build your own squad! I wish I could but I am very antisocial hahah so go out there and find some dope people and enjoy the game!
Question. I'm playing on PS5. Just started. Under my Quest tab, i only see seasonal challenges. I don't have the Guardian Rises option. So i'm low rank of course and can't even play anything. Everything says 1350 recommended for power. It is really frustrating. Any idea on how or what i should do?
had you made this account previously? if so its possible you already completed the quest or discarded it. You can pick the quest up again in the tower. Go to the post master but do not open the menu. look to your left and walk in-between the stairs and the post master. Open up the quest archive on the wall and check the tabs. you may be able to grab it back from there. if that does not work you can simply travel to the cosmodrome, bottom right of the destinations tab and complete some bounties, patrols, public events and lost sectors... and after an hour or 2 you should be high enough level to access other activities. hope this helps!

I made it at that time but up until the most recent expansion it was relevant in 2023. so for the first couple months of this year. I didnt realize that the new player experience had changed at the expansion, so i will go and take 2023 out of the title. sorry for the frustration but i will say allot of the stuff in here is still very useful. hope you find a video that suits your needs better and thanks for the heads up!
Followed your guide for seasonal artifact. Shaped the glaive as indicated but never unlocked the slot nor got the item. Instead got some gd follow on quest to investigate the temple. Fuck Bungie and this game for being unnecessarily convoluted. About to scrub the game from my console.
Sure would have helped if you had noted that completion of the intro quest on the moon is a predicate to doing seasonal artifact campaign. Did that and unlocked slot after wasting hours researching. Thanks. 🖕

The "story" is mostly deleted every year for the last 3 years... and they deleted all the original stuff 3 years ago when they started the yearly seasonal story. So sadly I agree with you. They keep the DLC stories... but they deleted everything else during that year when the next one drops. So for example their are 4 seasons a year, which they delete when the new year yearly expansion drops... and then they do 4 more seasons... etc etc etc. It's trash :(
