Destiny 2 Shadowkeep All Cutscenes Reaction 

I have to say it. The phrase and meme every guardian knew on this expansion: "Moon's Haunted"

So, Shadowkeep wasn't the most story oriented expansion in Destiny, and neither was the Season that came with it. However, next Season you guys would be on, Season of Dawn, is when they really found their footing with the seasonal model. This expansion took place right after their split with their publisher and they became self-publishing, so I presume they didn't want to try anything too crazy! The seasons from here on in, I think, will be much more intuitive and easier to follow along in your position

Fun fact about the 'Salvation' cutscene. If the player isn't the Exo race, i.e. not the robot one, you can more clearly see that 'Salvation' has the biggest & creepiest smile the whole time it's talking.

44:45 Omar Agah is sadly not really dead. I said "sadly" because of the state he is in. After long time of torture and vile experiment of hive witches, he is turned into a insect. In Pit of Heresy (shadowkeep dungeon) we get an exotic weapon called Xenophage (machine gun). When reloading we see Omar Agah as insect beneath the top frame of weapon. His rage is turned into heavy hitting ammunition. Unlike other weapon, xenophage has a delay to shoot next round but each round is strong enough to tap out an enemy

Right off the bat, Eris has know idea what she touched for the momment. She stands before the "Lunar Pyramid" the closest thing to a Force of Darkness. In fact this dorment paracausal ship is responsible for the collapse of humanities Golden age, the defeat of the WARMIND Rasputin and wounding of the Traveller. Thankfully the Traveller has also wounded the "Lunar Pyramid" but it seems it's secondary ability to create phantasmal creatures called "Nightmares" is still active.

5:11 Gotta say, that musical sting hits different at 4AM with all the lights off. Especially now that we know what that sound heralds...

I don't know if you guys remember, but at the end of the Red War campaign, we saw Pyramids floating in space. That is one of those Pyramids. It's tied to the Darkness and it's supposedly been in the Moon's crust for centuries. More or less, the Darkness has been on our doorstep for a long time

Shadow keep is a good expansion when it comes to the story of Eris. Getting to see how far she's gotten from all the hell she's been through gets me emotional. Great vid and love the reaction!

The DLC right before sunsetting, one of the most painful experiences where we lost so much content

Now that shadow keeps over, we’re getting to the part where Bungie started to enter a flow state with story and managed it really well for the next 3 years of content. The seasons actually got an overhaul starting with the next season story wise that was great for the franchise.

There were instances here & there in vanilla D2, but this Lunar Pyramid reveal was one of the first instances I recall Ghost having different reactions depending on what you did previously. Usually, Ghost would react like you heard here; "What... is that? I've never seen anything like it". But if you did the Trials of the Nine (I think?) in Season of the Drifter (please correct me if I'm wrong), he says *this* instead; "That's... one of those Pyramids. It can't be. That should not be here".

Glad to see the two of you continuing Destiny and hope that more of these Destiny videos come soon. Shadowkeep and the first season, season of the undying weren’t the most story oriented of the series but the seasons that follow are when it really kicks off. That pyramid ship was the kick off us starting to actually face the darkness, that ship has more story to it but it won’t be till much later.

Hello you two its your friendly destiny nut again who's gonna get you up to speed on some stuff. 1. Shadowkeeps story was basically a new power manifesting on the moon, eris went to scout and found the NIGHTMARES. Twisted versions of your memories that haunt you. As you try and find eris you finally see it... and the game forcefully makes you walk to see the Pyramid ship. That was basically our first Oh shit the darkness moment. 2. Eris was haunted by her fireteam whi all died attempting to kill crota. 3. Multiple nightmares were made from our past. Gaul, fanatic, crota, Zydron, skolas, phogoth and omnigul. All previous enemjes we killed. 4. Eris touching the statue and her orb going blue was the prelude/tease for stasis aka our first darkness super. 5. Tolan was one of the fireteam that went to kill crota, however its widely known that toland only went to discover and learn the deathsong and that's all he cared about... and he met the deathsinger and was subsequently killed. 6. We weaponised the deathsong and turned it into a rocket launcher. 7. Eris's ghost sacrificed herself so eris could live... eris to this day feels guilt. 8. Hashladuun was the daughter of crota... so she felt rage towards us as we killed her grandpa, her dad and her mom. 9. At the end we were transported into the black garden and met a duplicate of us... that was the witness messing with us, putting us at ease but also telling us we aren't enemies or friends. They considered themselves our salvation. (I'm using "they" as spoilers for later as you'll see the origins of the witness, traveller and more) 10. The whole vex thing was a season called undying and it wasn't story heavy, just the undying mind coming back again. 11. There you have the basics to understand the shadowkeep. Next up I'd suggest the next season, season of the dawn.

So, for season of dawn, the lore is okay but there are a good few cutscenes and in-game context that is really neat. I’d recommend a gameplay and/or cutscene video. One of my favorite characters is about to be introduced!

Yeah, eris is a tragic figure, her fate...you could almost say she was destined

The next season you should DEFINITELY watch the cutscenes, youll be meeting a legend from the lore! Love him!

It's been a year, and I would still love for a re-do of the Sunbreak all monsters reactions, especially since they got multiple new ones as well

This expansion we get to help Eris face her trauma and lighten the burden on her shoulders. She was hesitant to get closer to us and its because shes afraid of losing anyone else like she lost her fireteam. Its why she sounded so worried when she couldnt teleport us out of the pit, cause whether she really wanted to or not she considers us a friend. Our insistence on making the impossible possible at every turn is a reassurance to her. Later on you'll get to see Eris extend what she learned from her experience with the Nightmares to some other characters as she acts as a sort of therapist but I'll let you guys see that. Much like Toland, Omar isnt actually dead. Omar Agah was turned into a b u g of all things, a bug that REALLY fuckin hates the Hive. He was then trapped in a sort of amber which we find when doing the Pit of Heresy dungeon. We then take the amber and by association Omar and do what WE The Guardian do best: turned it into a gun. Xenophage: A slow, heavy hitting explosive round machine gun fueled by Omar's pure and utter HATRED. When you reload it you can catch a glimpse of him in the receiver.

As someone who played Destiny from the beginning, I did not expect Eris to become one of the best and most frequent main characters but it just gets better from here for her. We gotta get to Caiatl though.

To me Shadowkeep is where the saga of the Light and Darkness story really starts to kick off. Everything that came before was kinda sitting in obscurity, mentioned but never talked about. We knew something was pulling the strings but never who or why. Shadowkeep begins to answer those questions and shed light on it. But its only the beginning.

If you think Eris has a cool design wait till you get to the Season of The Witch wont spoil its really cool

Hey ya'lls reaction is very entertaining and awesome. But when it comes to destiny. Im a fan to this day since Destiny 1 came out. So many adventures and Loot! ok when comes to stories yall two should watch all beyond light cutscenes by Destin. The reason is that not it'll give all stories including my favorite raids so far the Deep Stone Crypt which i recommend you two if you want to see a wild ride adventure.🎉 Be Brave

I would say the seasons from a narrative standpoint are a mixed bag, season of Dawn was really good, especially if you played as a Titan, which I do. Season of the Worthy was kind of Yikes Forever from both a narrative and gameplay perspective. Season of Arrivals was just excellent all around, one of the best seasons Bungie have ever done. But overall its probably worth watching the long form videos rather than the lore, which you can still do if you're interested or want more detail on certain topics.

I found the only thing that's kept me playing D2 is the story, it gets insanely good🙏

Shadowkeep. What a mess. This is where the storytelling will get better. After this expansion and season Bungie split from Activision and their tyrannical money-first thought process. With the loss of Activision Bungie lost resources but gained the freedom to write their story their way. The first expansion released without Activision was and still probably is one of the worst in terms of storytelling but best in story concepts with the main theme being nightmares. Throughout the story of shadowkeep the Guardian has to face the nightmares of their past, which would've been a good concept if it wasn't executed in such a boring way. Most quests were quite repetitive and there were very few cutscenes so most of the story was explained throughout the combat which meant most people were fighting for their lives while something important was going down. The acquisition of gear was another major problem. If you wanted a certain weapon or armor piece you'd have to buy a side quest in game, finish it and then get the reward and the final mission required you to have the full set of armor just to even play it and the armor itself looked kinda ugly which didn't exactly help people's eagerness to get them. My friend's statement regarding his playthrough of the story says what most of the community felt "if you want to know what's going on, you need a master's degree in paying attention" which luckily you have. The good from this expansion was the new weapons and raid/dungeon armor. All the weapons felt fun to use and were well loved by both pvp and pve players. The raid itself was black garden themed vex mission that had amazing weapons and armor as well as introduced the Divinity exotic Trace rifle which created a small field of energy on its target that granted a 35% damage bonus to any allies that shot through it. The raid itself suffered a similar fate to the main expansion sadly, fun concept, frustrating gameplay. I can't wait to see your reaction to Beyond Light as it is the second best story in Destiny 2 only beaten out by Forsaken. I'd also highly recommend Warframe's story and side stories. Digital Extremes has a phenomenal story being told in warframe that will have players travelling back to 1999 this year!
