one thing ill always love is that the 'perfect paradox' shotgun is it's name , we get the weapon from saints body and then give it to him prior to his original death hence it's existence being a paradox

Someone else mentioned that Osiris and Saint are romantic partners, but something I like to point out in Season of the Dawn that few seem to catch is just how much their relationship and Saint meant to Osiris. He mentioned briefly around 13:00 that some of his Echoes went crazy while desperately looking for Saint, but that’s an understatement. One of his Echoes stayed around for several years, looking for Saint, and refused to take orders from Osiris. Eventually the grief of being unable to find Saint drove it to take it’s own life. The sad part is that Osiris and his Echoes are one in the same, and their feelings reflect his own. Osiris was willing to break time just to get Saint back, and he didn’t care how he did it he just knew he would regret it forever if he didn’t.

The conversation with shaxx was an exotic quest for devil's ruin. The part with OUR grave was the end of a long, massive community puzzle that rewarded Bastion, the first ever fusion rifle in the kinetic slot. At the end of the season, we helped Saint to build a new Lighthouse on Mercury, which is now the destination for Flawless rewards for the revamped Trials of Osiris - hosted by Saint.

One of my favourite pieces of information about saint is the purple ribbons on his armour. Every time he helped someone, they would give him a purple ribbon. He kept every single one. His armour is covered in ribbons and so is his ship. It started when he saved a child from the fallen. She took the ribbon from her hair and wrapped it around saint's gauntlet.

It is in fact true! The fallen were the travelers chosen before the traveler left them and found us. They followed the traveler across the stars, for so long that most living Fallen never even knew their homeworld or what their past was like with the traveler.

The Corridors of Time are a physical representation of time. The Infinite Forest was an en masse simulation that had the potential to be made reality if given enough Paracausality. Hope that clears some stuff up.

So, some lore context, in a way, yes we changed Saint's fate, but it was also supposed to happen. The lore around the "Perfect Paradox" weapon did imply that WE gave it to him, despite him having died before we were resurrected. But we got the weapon from Saint's grave, inside the Infinite Forest. However, why then is Saint's body presented the way it was, back in Curse of Osiris, as if there was a funeral for him? Osiris didn't do it. The clues hint at the Vex themselves being the ones who show his body respect. But why? Context from lore imply the Vex knew that Saint's fate would be changed, because they already saw it. The Vex always indicated respect to things they can't comprehend (like back in a post-Taken King mission on Venus, where they opened the door to the Vault of Glass for us without shooting us, so we could kill the invading Taken inside.) As for the source behind their confusion around Saint's changed fate: In the lore, it's explained that Osiris actually used an Ahamkara bone to craft that Sundial. So he may have accidentally wished for Saint's return, & the fulfillment of that wish wormed it's way into the fabric of the Infinite Forest. I also believe, all this was only possible because Saint died inside the Infinite Forest. If he died somewhere else, outside of any Vex structures, there probably would've been more severe consequences to timeline shenanigans.

Saint and Osiris are actually romantically involved. A love between a human and an Exo.

So how the timeline change actually works is that: 1. Originally Saint died like a few years before our resurrection chasing the future that was us, so he could return the Perfect Paradox to us; in so doing, he follows the trail of Osiris who was exiled, which led him to the Infinite Forest; Saint then gets trapped in an endless cycle of fighting to the point where the only solution for the Vex was to use all their simulation resources on a single Vex mind that could redirect Saint's light (they can't simulate or create light themselves, but they could make a vessel for it); he dies, but the Vex enshrine him out of respect; Osiris and the guardian find out about it years later and in so doing are able to create the Perfect Paradox from the prophecy data to forge the weapon in Curse of Osiris (it was essentially a teaser/hint to let us know we had to meet him somehow in the future to give it to him in the past) 2. Go forward two years; Osiris builds the Sundial in order to see if he could manipulate time like the Vex in order to bring back Saint; he successfully shatters time by branching it off the focal point the Sundial makes; we go back in time to give Saint the Perfect Paradox which means we will have the data in the future to craft it in Curse of Osiris; we find the moment where Saint was going to be killed and stop it. This point alone should have broken the timeline because Saint would have been alive prior to our resurrection, HOWEVER, because the Infinite Forest is a quantum super computer simulation engine, everything outside the simulation works in real time while everything else inside the simulation could happen...well, infinitely. So what ends up happening is, the guardian and Osiris ONLY open the Infinite Forest pathway for him once he would inevitably be in the current moment of time, thereby avoiding his presence being in the real world that might alter the events of our current story. Essentially, Saint could not leave the Infinite Forest until all the events that are relevant to us transpired without him so the events outside align how they did originally.

Saint is the coolest, he's basically The Doom Slayer of the Destiny universe.

This is the season that got me actually committed to Destiny. Spending on average 16 hours a day for almost a week working on that community puzzle… nothing compares. Most people won’t say it was the best season, but it’s still my favourite.

No spoilers but, just remember the song that Shaxx sang :)

I don’t have much to say about the season itself, other than that it’s really good. I will, however, comment on the House of Rain. Though extinct in modern Destiny, the House is known to have created prophecies. The most interesting one follows: "Before him, foes will flee or fall. But he will heal the houses, make them whole. "The Great Machine [the Traveler] will marvel, moved by might, and come to crown him Kell of Kells. "What Whirlwind whisked away will be rewrought, and every Kell and Ketch will kneel to the Kell of Kells."

I am a little rusty on this, but IIRC, the saint of out timeline DID die, and the one we have now is one from a different timeline. What we used to travel through timelines was with osiris' time-dial, a separate machine from the infinite forest, though i dont remember if it is located in the infinite forest or just on mercury.

It took a couple hundred years for the Vex to create something to counter Saints light (A guardians light is like a finger print, each different) and our guardian helped destroy the vex which could do that, it took so much time and resources to do that, the vex couldn't do it again which is why we meet him years later getting him out the forest

I'll try to explain the timeline shenanigans as well as i can from what i understand, i take no responsibility if I get something wrong but essentially the infinite forest is it's own thing seperate from our timeline, in our timeline we always went back and inspired saint and in our timeline saint always survived because that's the timeline we went back into the forest to take out the martyr mind, in any forest timeline we didn't do that saint died, so we get the perfect paradox from him in his tomb so we can give it to every version of saint in the forest so we can get it from the corpses of the one we don't save, so for our timeline we always both save and don't save saint...and if you think that's complicated never look at the exo strangers lore 😂

The best way to describe the Perfect Paradox and the timey wimey stuff with it, is like the letter P. There's an enclosed loop, but the events after Saint is rescued from the Forest is the tail of the P. I'm thinking that the part where we go to our own grave is a different loop/letter P that follows the same linear line. We're yet to see the reason why the grave exists in the first place. Also, remember the melody of the song Shaxx sang, that's all I'm gonna say on that.

I loved this season!

The infinte forest is purely a planetary simulation machine the sundial is what we used to acces the corridors of time and the saint 14 we saved is one pulled from a alternate timeline its much like marvels time travel rules

For background lore stuff: Saint-14, before his death, went on a well-known series of personal crusades against the Fallen houses (something akin to a country, or prominent guilds, or religious sects). The House of Rain in particular did not survive Saint-14’s crusade. The main houses used to be ones like Winter, Kings, and (this should be somewhat familiar) the House of Wolves. Post Red War, the only house left was the House of Dusk, nominally led by Uldren Sov. By this point in the story, there is one more house: the House of Light, led by Mithrax.

The Traveler or Great machine did choose the Eliksni/Fallen before us. They merely followed it to our system, chasing that old bearings

Try not to think of it as a separate timeline more like a walk through our own past timeline and course correcting the perfect paradox. We were always saints inspiration to be the best of guardians there were 2 moments in saints history that couldn’t be found by Osiris his death and his inspiration on mercury. Us going back through time with the Perfect paradox shotgun triggered something that allowed us to track down and save saint from his death while also giving him the perfect paradox allowed us to complete the loop of going back in time inspiring him to become the best he can be and even in his death he said he would find a way to give it back to us which he did in curse of Osiris at his tomb completing the cycle. The shotgun itself shouldn’t exist because it was made of nothing but sheer will and light but because of its existence it allowed to save the greatest titan who ever lived. Sorry for the lengthy comment I’m a lore nerd an got carried away lol

Time line bullshit and a bit of D2 retcon of game lore

It's really too bad that the woke mob got their hands on Osiris and Saint-14, there was absolutely zero trace of any romance between them, they had this incredible brothers-at-arms story that had nothing to do with a human banging a robot. It's really too bad, these used to be such rich and complex characters and now they're just poster boys for woke politics.
