i wouldnt be surprised if its IO 2.0

I would be careful in setting high expectations for the pale heart, as they said in the August showcase that it will be Destiny’s first “linear” world space (for the sake of narrative I believe). I don’t think that means it will inherently suck; just that you won’t be able to explore it like you would the dreaming city or the throne world.

Set your expectations low, bossman.

Facts

The entire destiny universe (apart from Neomuna sorry…) looks phenomenal. One of the most consistent positive aspects of the entire game.

@@sunshotwithanornament2475 in a different context maybe. If they’de left the discovery of a funkie new civilisation til after final shape it be far more forgivable. But the largely empty 80’s style city with bright colours and surfer dude cloud striders. The whole tone of the environment clashed horribly with the dire narrative being told there, I can’t look past that tbh.

@@IchibeiRealI was 14 when this franchise began, 10 years later, 23 years old, it’s been quite the ride. This game has both blessed and oppressed my life. Despite destiny’s many flaws, this game or more specifically this saga, was a once in a generation endeavour for gaming. The next time we get a 10 year story to unfold like this for a game will be when we’re probably middle aged. I’m just hoping this climax doesn’t disappoint.

@@isaiahling9716 I doubt I'm the first one to tell ya this but with about 3-4 exceptions, ALL of D1 and D2 expansions have flopped. Not many people will defend more than Taken king, witch queen, and forsaken. Not these days anyway. The only reason this game continued to exist was the live service business model. If they tried releasing D1 like a normal game, we wouldn't have gotten D2, and probably not most of the DLC for D1. And that's coming from a guy who has played all of this. I've been a Bungie fan since Marathon and it kinda stings to see how the mighty have fallen. Predatory micro transactions, abysmal story quality, almost no cohesion to narrative flow and pacing, world building is either inconsequential, tucked away on a 3rd party access, or not relevant to the story at large, etc. Destiny and it's live service model have been a detriment to the gaming industry as a whole. The Final Shape is a dollar sign and the sunken cost fallacy will ensure most people don't acknowledge or even realize that.

It is. I don't understand however what this Spire is. Is it the center of the Traveller or just a random landmark?

​@@cease-desistno, just lazily put together. They put the essential plot points in their seasons rather than in lightfall. It was also lazily written as it was just beyond light except we had already done it all before so it was just lame. Also the fact that the stakes were supposed to be super high with the traveler but instead we spent the entire campaign playing with silly string.
