I disagree. Feels way too light and angelic. The witness should make you feel fear and terror, while giving you a sense that it's other, above the universe. There should also be a sense of beauty. I don't really get that from this.
@@elusiveDEVIANT Completely disagree with you. The Witness is the ghost of an entire civilization that committed suicide. There is a deep undercurrent of melancholy and emptiness to the character that reflects its origins, and this song strikes at those beats. The wailing choir, the toiling of the bell (death), the helplessness of the composition and conclusive nature of it. This is a song to death, loss, and the deep sadness that comes with it. That is the horror of the Witness. Not some lovecraftian, eldritch horror that we cant comprehend. Its horror that we can comprehend entirely to well.
@iitylernallen I feel as though it’s a theme that is very reflective and familiar, because with the story of Maya Sundaresh and Chioma Esi, we learn that if the Traveler had come to us first, we could have been the Witness in an alternate universe. The Witness was the first one to be left to die by the Traveler’s hands, it left them to slowly become ruined. They had so much rage that they then sought it out to finally put an end to their god that gave them hope and prosperity, then took it away just as fast. We could have been the Witness, because the Traveler could have left us first if we were the first ones it “blessed”.
The DLC will come out in 5 days from now. With the trailers and music so far that have come out of Bungie, i can say you are very in line with the vibes with this song. Keeps it up. Also, It's been an honour guardians.
It's definitely an interesting approach to the Witness, And seeing I've replayed this about a dozen times I'd say it's a good beat Keep up the good work!
Hopefully. I’m good with not being able to beat him day 1. I’d be even happier if only a handful of teams were able to be victorious on contest. This thing should be the hardest not riven like what’s statistically shown. Praying they can get a raid with more than 4 encounters even if it has the witness as 2 of the bosses. So like puzzle encounter first boss encounter witness first phase then instead of killing him you weaken it and it retreats deeper into the raid puzzle encounter then you get to fight the witness finally at the end as the final noss
@@thehale_ lw as well. I don’t mind mainly bosses with a puzzle here and there. I hope we see a few bosses in the raid tho with the witness being at the end desperate due to having all of its underlings killed.

Welp time to give a feedback on this cuz I definetly loved it ! First of all, the first part of the music where you play with that kind of "alarm" as a way to remind the threat that is the Witness is just amazing, and adding those voices that make a huge contrast with the overall dark and low theme of the Witness fits perfectly with the recent reveal of its origins, the fact that the voice sounds distorded just adds that thought that the Witness is still an alien but lived as humans did. Love that you kept those voices as the only high tone for that first part letting the whole rest fits with the last chance vibe. AND THEN PEW STRINGS(maybe a little to early, i think you should have let the silence last a bit longer but that's only my opinion) the chords you play with those strings just feel like the last fight of the franchise GGs on that, but i find the loop a tiny bit too long, even tho the whole Witness' theme is to have long loops i feel like there might be too many high tones for such a dark theme, still amazing, sounds really good. Then those drums, mmh, real good they sound so original and fit perfectly with the theme, here we loose a bit of the "it's the end" vibe to replace it with a rough fight taking place in the end of times and letting the alarm come back as a reminder. This part overall feels like the raid boss fight especially dps phase. And then the end one of my favourites parts where you hear the chords from earlier lowered(not sure) with a sky high violin letting it become the only high tone of this part which truly feels like an ending, good or bad ? I'd say mainly bad. Yeah i'm giving my thoughts on this even tho I'm still starting in music production so don't take it as too much valuable Istill am a random. Ahem... yeah, it overall really fits the Witness' origins without getting away from that megamind meanie we met in Witch Queen. The only thing I'd say is that it feels like two musics mixed in one, where you have a first part that would fit a really dark "end of times" theme and a second part where you actually put a fight with a rythm even tho we've never really heard any drums coming with the Witness.And huh... yeah that's all, thanks if you read it all, I really wanted to give my thoughts on it cuz I liked it and listened to it like more than 10 times imagining an actual fight with the witness.(Sorry if my english or my musical vocabulary sounds bad, I'm french and every word about music is totally different from one language to another x)) I'm putting this here even tho i pretty much don't believe in it but i'd love to talk to you or just see a bit of the making of a music, as I said I'm new to music production but am fascinated with the orchestral style. The first 2 minutes captures the struggling nomads finding the Traveler and creating a paradise before finding the Veil and everything taking a dark turn.
0:00 - 1:11 is my favorite part and I feel like this vibe fits well with the character. An amalgam of consciousness and darkness, eerie and powerful. I could imagine this part of the song playing while the Witness slowly walks in space (like it does in a cutscene) among defeated fleets of enemies or something like that
I had an idea where we work with savathun to use deep sight and get rapid glimpses of the main aggressor within the witness' life before they merged, how he was malicious and discontent despite the prosperity his race was experiencing, maybe he lost his purpose, a loved one or the ability to form genuine bonds as he could have anything within the life he had, but it was a life he hated, so instead he devised a scheme to coerce his own kind to their deaths, puppeteer their souls, and become the reality he wanted to impose. They want to be free, we need to help them. He will not let them go.
Fits the character perfectly considering it’s thousands maybe even millions of people on one body all with the 1 goal of making the universe into nothing..
@@adamboy0559The interesting thing with The Witness is it's implied that not all of them wanted this, and there could be a degree of conflict within him. And maybe even some of those people didn't willingly fuse.

I feel like his themes going to take parts of the many we’ve had few the years. Journey will be a big part of it. Maybe even include parts of rhulks and nezarecs to tie them together.
