9:12 When you enter the new lighthouse for the first time in the first COO mission this plays if you have gone Flawless in D1 If you didn’t go flawless nothing plays here at all
I’m a half veteran since I never played any D1 dlc. Just the base game. But I’ve also created new characters. I really wish they would just let us recustomize our guardian if we where tired of its looks instead of having to put things in a vault, delete a character that you’ve had for a while, and end up creating a new one.
I feel this another reason bungie should allow us to toggle veteran dialogue or at the very least activate it if we've played the first missions of the D1 DLCs. Half of this stuff I know but it constantly sounds like ghost has got amnesia
I wish they gave you a test to turn it on. Like who was oryx. And what was the final raid to feature the hive. And stuff like that. Sure you could just look it up but for new lights it would just create more confusion so it wouldnt be good.
Lore-wise 'our' Ghost should be Material Space 7+ Centuries old. bungie should show just how experienced 'our' Ghost is.... Am I the Only one that questions this!?
@@hydroft6305 It's there permanently tied to your/my/our [Destiny 1] completion, fully or half done. doesn't matter. perhaps testing it out in your other available PSN accounts (ones which you have not played [Destiny 1] on it yet).
@@zdude0127 Is she going to finally explain why she doesn't have time to explain why she doesn't have time to explain now that there's time to explain why she didn't have time to explain before she runs out of time to explain why she has time to explain before she runs out of time to explain because of pyramids
@@Spartan-sz7km I came here to tell you, she explains A LOT. Clovis bray made the exo’s from vex milk, they were rebooted because he didn’t want them learning about his projects and true nature of exo’s. The exo’s are also partially darkness too. Clovis bray turned himself into an Exo god. Elsie Bray (the Exo stranger’ true identity) is the adopted sister to Ana Bray. In another timeline, Elsie (stranger) murders Ana Bray for becoming corrupt with darkness. She has a spare rifle. Elsie Bray (Exo stranger) fought for a long time against the vex on Europa alongside Banshee-44. Banshee-44 is Clovis bray but humane and nice, Banshee-44 is also extremely strong and fast, as he was built to be the top peak of Exo technology. The Exo’s were used to explore the vex solar system of origin, Clovis thinks they evolved like us but different. We didn’t get any info on the fish-ghost thing we see in the trailer.
I wish they just had the option to toggle veteran/new dialogue in settings. Kind of annoying to be treated like a brand new guardian that knows nothing just because you play on PC.
Weirdly I got a combination of these while playing. I got the the veteran dialog before when ghost talked about oryx but at the warmind and upward I got the new player dialog
There's an extra bit of dialogue when you first enter the Dreaming City if your guardian is an Awoken. I forget what exactly comes before it, but your Ghost will say something like, "YOU'RE Awoken, Guardian. Do you sense anything?"
Wishful thinking, but it’d be cool to have an “ I played D1” option prior to starting the new expansion so they can put the veteran dialogue in instead. I also moved to PC so I’ve been missing a bunch of stuff, too :(
the "this is easier to get to than their old place" played for me even tho i never went flawless but it played for me in the mission where u find the hidden cult building in the edz.....
So I guess that over time, you start to get Veteran Dialogue when you play long enough. I got the Vault of Glass quote without ever running Destiny 1 ONCE. Edit: So I also apparently got Veteran Forsaken Dialogue as well. The game is odd.
I bet it's just random dialogue after awhile. Once you get one, it just pulls from a pool. Never played d1 on my account nor xbox and I got all kinds of quotes
"This is easier to get to than their old place, that's for sure" This line is played on the first mission of COO, at the moment you enter the lighthouse and before you interact with brother vance the first time :)
I’m a veteran player myself but when I got the game I pressed new light by mistake and now I can’t change it I wish their was a setting to switch to veteran :[
@Requiem Eye No but it is tied to your bungie account and also your options for crosssave. For example a Ps4 player who never bought D2 on Ps4 and instead went to PC immediately will have New player dialogue. If you had both D1 and D2 on your preferred console and only came over to PC with crosssave you still have your vet dialogue. Now if you are like me and started playing D2 on console but switched to PC before crosssave it depends on which account you use for crosssave. I went with my PC account and as a result I know have Kinderguardian dialogue. Simply put, you only get vet dialogue if that character has played D1
I would very much love the option to swap between new and veteran dialogue. I’m tired of having to remind myself that I did that stuff too. *Eris:* I helped another Guardian slay Crota. *Me:* Uh, yeah. You’re welcome.
I just noticed that Ghost has the same glitchy voice when he speaks when he lost his Light (0:37) and when the Pyramids possess him. That is, his voice changes when Darkness surounds him
Im 16 and started playing Destiny (as in destiny 1) around when I was 10. Sure the story was a lil confusing but hearing those lil ghost dialogues that reassure my adventures are always nice. Like the defeating crota dialogue in shadowkeep or omnigul. I didn't really know what I was doing as a kid lol. My friends asked if I wanted to do a raid so I was like "Lets do a raid"
"What is it with mysterious, hooded, anti-authority types calling me little?" Ah, I see they didn't forget about the Stranger. That concerns me actually. She knew something, and she wasn't telling us. Unless she's a guardian like us, and we just didn't know. But then the question remains, who is she?
We know who she is from the lore already. She also isn't a guardian as she "wasn't forged in the light". The things she wasn't telling us are most likely connected to both Beyond Light and will probably also tie into Lightfall. (In her own words from the trailer: "Where I come from the Darkness won, I won't let it happen again." Which solidifies what we knew about her from the lore)
Veeery interesting that for several years, the Destiny community was wondering who she was. Then there're players like me who started not long before Beyond Light. Makes me feel all the younger in it
I don't remember alot of the intro mission quotes but I remember hearing the ones about the fallen But I also remember ikora telling me about how the hive god made the taken even though I beat the whole taken king campaign and got reminded of it in the intro
This is easier to get than their old place thats for sure. This dialogue would probably play when you meet brother Vance in the lighthouse if you went flawless in d1
I made my titan and did all the dlc for that character in Destiny 1. When Destiny 2 came out I carried over my Warlock instead and went through the red war with that character. I then brought over my titan when season of the arrivals came out and didn’t go back and do the red war with my Titan. So now I bet they think I’m a new light. I’ve done everything else with my Titan now but never did the Red War.
Anyone else that played on the PS3 sad that they didn't get to play Rise Of Iron. Also am I the only one that wasn't able to play Destiny 2 until now because they didn't have a PC/New Gen Console (not including the switch).
These voice lines got me thinking. If everything from the red war to the warmind campaign is being moved to the destiny content vault, then what the hell will the new light players get to experience when beyond light comes out?
We have no real information on that yet. But the most obvious answer would just be that those campaigns are gone. And the New Light mission in the cosmodrome will be their starting point and that's it. If Bungie is feeling nice they might whip up a follow up introduction quest that helps mitigate this issue, who knows.
SirMcDust It’s a question that’s been on my mind for awhile I just didn’t know where to post it. Curse of Osiris and Warmind were both completely free for the new player experience on top of the base game. I understand why they would make that decision to move everything to the vault, but unless they have something that makes up for the red war and the two dlcs being gone, they’ll be missing out on major content. Not unless they make Forsaken and Shadowkeep free. But even then, it’d be pretty weird since most new players won’t even know who Cayde is. Imagine that. They’ll be avenging Cayde not knowing who he is. It doesn’t have that same effect that most of us guardians have if you catch my drift.
7:52 Funny thing is that even Eris calls him little. XD Sorry, Ghost, but it seems your canonical name is actually 'Little Light'. At least, with some of the cast. :P
It makes me sad that I don’t have veteran lines on my acc because my old Xbox account got false reported by a couple old “friends” of mine and that was tied to my bungie account and now I have to hear my ghost not knowing anything and I don’t have the cool hive lines
Did the Ghost ever acknowledge the actor swap? I don't remember, but I'm sure there was dialogue about him staying quiet. Maybe it was in D1 Taken King
1:47 I got the vet dialogue for this one for some reason? I never played the first game so that's confusing. I got the NP dialogue for pretty much all else I remember.
No for being a Veteran (like me) you’d have to have done all these things before the release of D2 for the dialogue to play. It’ll be the same regardless even if you do it after
@@brysonkuervers2570 I honestly think that’s idiotic. It seems like it’d be so easy to just change the dialogue a bit because the game updates your play data.
My original d1 play through was on an account I lost so when I played d2 I was wondering why our guardian acted like we never did this before lol now I know
i dont get why some of this dialogue is even changed like one line calls the tower "the tower" and then the other one calls it "the city" whats the point?
I think when d2 first launched, you had the opportunity to link your d1 account to it. I don't remember all the details tho, so what I said could be completely wrong.
I dont think any vault of glass, kings fall, wrath of machine raids, the rise of iron story completion, and killing skolas in prison of elders transferred those veteran lines over to my D2 account cause I happened to beat those raids and activities after D2 dropped since I was stuck on 360 (and had a hard time finding a good fireteam to play with to beat raids, I cheesed crota tho at least with two other people)
I'm always curious if a player from the taken king (ps3 2016) could be considered a veteran I imagine that in part yes but with fewer dialogues I believe Idk
I prefer the veteran player is better because in D1, ghost talks about a lot of things and discover, remembering alot of stuff and moving on in D2. But for those who are new player in D2, ghost wont know much from the past but just experience and moving on without history. Just curious how the difference, but some new players dont know much in D1.
Does anyone know if raid completion is also a factor in getting veteran dialogue? Or is completing all the campaigns all you need to do to get all possible veteran dialogue?
It’s so minor but it annoys me beyond belief that my Ghost doesn’t know what the Taken are because I wanted to play on PC for D2 before crosssave was a thing
You could test it by doing a weekly mission if one of these are available or the legacy campaigns available from amanda unless you've done them. There's also some scannables that have veteran dialogue.
