i liked Ainly's master. very sardonic and sadistic. he savors every line in a wonderfuly evil way.

This led into the TV movie if you think about, that The master being inprisoned.

Also, his "evil Beethoven" outfit seen here is a big improvement from that getup he always used to wear. :P

Too bad he died after this. He was actually a lot more convincing as the Master when he got old. :/

I have been looking for this exact version of the theme for some time. I had this BBC CD ROM in the early 00's and it had a advert thing which had a list of other BBC titles and it played this theme when you clicked on Doctor Who. This was the first time i had ever heard about Doctor Who.

Does anyone else headcanon that the monsters are actually the Daleks come to take him to Skaro for execution?

Ainley passed away in 2004, 8 years AFTER the 1996 tv movie was made.

No no. You have to save each of the Doctor's (then)seven incarnations by finding information about the Doctor's adventures - or finding an item belonging to him- then play a racing or fighting game against the Master to release that incarnation of the Doctor. If you succeed the Master gets imprisoned and the Doctor survives...If you fail to save even one incarnation of the Doctor...the Doctor is wiped fromthe face of history and the Master disapears into the sunset laughing as he is wont to do.

There does seem to be some differing information on the net - surprise surprise - but the BBC site does support his having passed away in 2004 as does the Internet movie database - both of which are usually reliable sources. Thanks for your input wwazman. Never rely on single sources, I guess is the lesson here.

I take it you are not a fan of the TVM. I have been a fan of Doctor Who literally for as long as I can remember - but I could not finish watching the TVM...just did not do it for me.

Chibs and the Doctress (the Rani) have kicked canon to the curb, set it on fire, pi$$ed on it, nuked it from orbit, dragged it into the woods and buried it in a shallow grave. And pi$$ed on THAT.
