Destiny: Solas - What Is Immersiplay? 

Right? This is what I always envisioned Destiny being in my head. At this point I only really play the story expansions because the world is so rich and deserves a story outside of doing the same strike a million times. lol

Exactly! I’ve always sort of lived my own story in my head while doing solo missions. Especially when I first started playing the game at a young age. It’s really great to see we’re not alone in our styles!

They have been talking about making a tv series though

That is in reference to the story and not production of episodes. But yes, we've spent a significant amount of time on the story of Destiny: Solas and the arc through to the end is already written.

I can see portal and Vegas but not halo

Halo already has established characters, not your own characters, it wouldn't work. Not even for Reach.

Thanks for the question! DCV has absolutely influenced what story we can tell. We were heavily involved in many of the things that got taken from the game (entire episodes have been filmed in these areas before), and it actually forced us to undergo massive rewrites. We do believe the story we have now is actually better thanks to this, but we would be lying to say that the DCV hasn't caused any problems for us.

@@PlayerOneStories Couldn't you just launch Destiny 1 to visit vaulted spaces such as Mars?

@@Eqiosofficial They probably could, but I imagine the difference in graphics would harm, more than help, the content. Destiny 2 is almost an entirely different beast than Destiny 1. Also we were introduced to places like Mercury in D2, but in a less restricted form. In D1, you could only access Mercury through the Trials, and it was specifically the combat maps and not the destination as a whole. Now I could be wrong on this, but D2's graphics feels so much more polished and presentable than D1, so you would likely notice that as a viewer as well.

Your issue is with the presentation, not the content. Destiny has literally YEARS worth of lore, it's just that the lore is hidden in grimmore / item text

@@maskguyfromsailormoon That's correct. The presentation has been horrendous, and it's gotten to the point where I've put down the game.

@@somecallmewhite3046 you know, I agree with you to an extent. All of d1 was like that, and half of d2 has been. I personally though, have thoroughly enjoyed listening to a British dude named byf narrate the lore cards and give commentary. The story is something really unique, all things considered. Its a similar situation to ff15, where there's a 2 hour movie prequel to the game that really explains what's happening, and it makes the game that much better. Since the seasonal model tho, I'd say 80% of the important lore is now explained in story, and what isn't is a fun read. Not everyone wants to absorb story / play a game in that way I get you if presentation kinda blows. I had put the game down from short after launch, til house of wolves because I didn't even realize raids were going to be a thing/ there was a stupid amount of important info in lore cards. I say if you ever want to get into just go to the gym / groceries / chores etc and play byfs vids etc

@@maskguyfromsailormoon I totally get that! The story in of itself is a unique one, and I can't stop myself from going to sleep thinking of all the different places and characters that could be just around the corner. Personally, I just wish that Bungie did a better job of knowing what lore to tell in game and what to save for lore cards. We've had times in the past where lore was handled perfectly (Look at Black Armory for example), and instances where the story kinda fell flat on it's face (looking at you, Season of the Worthy).

Naw that's me

For me it's always been a issue that I WANT to be a tourist, but so few games support that. Or you need to kill so many things to get there it's hard to swap the switch. I've read all of the books of sorrow... Yet I feel like I have no story in game. It's a hard balance... But friends and a good guide like this help

I tend to do that when I'm playing something for the first time. Only rushing after I learned most about the game and the maps.

Honestly, choosing a Hunter was probably the best choice as they are the ones that seek out adventure so it would make sense lore-wise. Not disagreeing with you though, I am Warlock main myself and we certainly do rule!

@@notadestinygun6556 We're the same team behind the trailer agency Player One Trailers (www.playeronetrailers.com). Player One Stories is really the brainchild of Gage Allen, the founder and lead creative of the studio. So on this side it's mostly his passion projects and more personal films, while during the day he and the rest of the team here do official game trailers and the likes. The one benefit we get from this is that you get really personal style projects uploaded for free with people behind it that have a lot of experience making things look really good in games. Right now it's a real commitment to make a project so they don't happen as often as they would if the channel was big enough to be self sustaining.

I relate alot to his admiration for the world of Destiny (and other games) so to see someone put pen to paper and follow through with such great work, im speechless.
