One of the most epic hunts of the year! In this video we follow alongside Justin Jacobson on Prairie Dog Palooza Part 1! More thermal videos to come! Comment down below any comments or questions!
Can you do a video on what calibers you recommend best for the different kinds of hunting that way when folks buy one of your guns it helps to know what one is best thanks
I bought me a gauntlet 1 .25 after seeing all the upgrades you can do to them, upped reg pressure bigger bottle, Hajimoto tuned my barrel for slugs and I installed the hammer spring power adjuster, polished all internals and tuned the trigger as highly adjustable, this thing is a Beast now, funner to shoot than my 22lr 💯
2:07 "Lunch"??? Looks more like dinner to me. And then I saw your actual dinner. 😳 And they wonder why most Americans get to be so "big". 🤣 But it obviously didn't hurt any of you: that was some excellent long range shooting, love to see more!!
You guys found an incredible patch. My buddy and myself dispatched 4,600-5,000 gophers in.hmmmm 3 morning and a couple od afternoons... Our best season estimate...20,000 plus... NO SHYT we pack 2 rifles each as sometimes the barrel gets a little hot...
Hunting show is just making a fried is tasting this impact is a show was happy for all of you and I still wish much more success like guaranteed always fan 🇧🇷 with a card
Weight trump's bc when it comes to wind drift, better bc does have a flatter trajectory which is good, but at the end of the day trajectory is very predictable weather it's a .177 slug or a .30 pellet (ballistic app or practice) so basically trajectory is not as important because weather your hold over is 6" or 12" (good bc or poor bc) , it's the wind drift that is not as predictable, so heavy projectiles are less affected by wind even though they have more drop due to lower bc. I hope this helps, I thought the same thing you did 3 years ago.
@@craigpeet657actually bullet weight has no bearing on wind drift. Common misconception because heavier bullets of the same caliber are usually higher BC. In airguns, unlike CF, the length of the projectile is limited to the action or magazine. With length being limited the larger diameter will have a lower BC and therefore more wind drift. Dont take my word for it though. Use any quality ballistics calc and adjust only weight and you will see wind drift isnt effected, or very minimally. Now adjust the BC and watch the wind drift change relative to that.
@@PursuitofAccuracy I can't speak for powder burners, but his question was pertaining to pellets(subsonic) but as an air gunner with 3 FX impacts with 700 barrels and a 100 yd range in back yard, I can affirm from shooting all 3 guns in same wind the .30 gets less wind drift than .25, and the .25 gets less than .22. I experienced these affects 2 years ago, long before I learned how to use strelloc, so a simple experiment using 2 pellets of different weight: -cp pointed @ 7.4gr w/bc .012 -pile driver @30gr w/bc .083 -range of 30 yards with a wind of 20 mph @ 90 deg. Pellet/muzzle vell./wind drift in inches -cp pointed, 500 fps, 10.6" -pile driver, 500 fps, 1.4" -cp pointed, 1000 fps, 6.7" -pile driver, 1000 fps, 1.1" So in conclusion strelloc confirms what I have experienced although not as extreme as experiment with strelloc, pellets have their own category as far as ballistic coefficient charts, so I think subsonic pellets cannot be compared to supersonic center fire bullets.
What do you do with the carcasses. Aren't prairie dogs meat edible? If you just kill them for fun, that's not right. Besides fun, hunters must get something out of the thrill in shooting them. If you can not eat the meat, find something you can use it for like dog and cat food. Then you earn.
Want a really good bipod put a bench buddy on a telescope bipod with the nobbs left and right up and down works so sweet add a center nob to hold it on and you can spine it around to get more up or down it sweet if you make them you can sell them send me a nice 25 cal semi or full auto I would be very grateful
I always wanted to do it with 22LR however all the old shooters said it wouldn`t be practical. I think it would be fun and being retired I could set there all day long day after day until they were cleaned out for the farmers or ranchers.
Another banger of a video, guys. Now I'm wondering if Donny brought a Karma for field testing. Keep on rolling and bringing us more quality content. You guys are part of why I took up the sport, and why I keep going with it.
I was looking forward to seeing you two absolutely slay some rodents out there! Always next time I suppose. I've got Utah, Wyoming, and South Dakota on my bucket list for prairie dogs now. Not sure if any of those will ever happen, but it would be a party!
A Hatsan Blitz would not be capable for these distances ? With the PCP's you guys were shooting. Do they have enough power to kill a wild boar ? I think you all were shooting 7.62 ? Or more like 9 mm ? I am currently orientating into PCP. Got a terrible rat infestation where i live around my home. Thousends of them at night. Invading even my home.
Good stuff! That FDE Impact Justin was shooting is incredibly based! I got my first prairie dog ever (I live in Illinois) at..... RMAC! He popped up under the sight-in target at 100 yards and I smoked him with the Panthera! Haha
Love the live action whack-a-mole! 6 of us went to South Dakota in ‘99 for 5 days on the Rosebud Indian Reservation and had the time of our lives. Had 223’s and .22 lr’s killed many out to 500 yards Hope to get out there one day again.
want to buy myself but I don't have that amount, you who are imnobanding. They wouldn't give me a second-rate one, a mkll. I would really appreciate it if you help me
