I think you should add naturalist in your video , it adds animal with a working food chain and sleep cycle for example : after eating a few animal snake stop eating and digest the food , bear will sleep at night , butter fly can grow from cattepilar to butterfly by eating plants. (all of the mob ai is unique and not just a copy paste of vannila mob
what cpu do you have? I'm guessing the 12900ks if you have the pockets to buy the 3090ti :) can't wait till the new 40 series to come out later this year!!!
I can sometimes feel the fire. My computing room gets up to over 90 degrees F when playing this (and that is in an air conditioned house set at 77 degrees). I love my computer heater in the winter, but its a drag in the summer. Not all games heat up the room. But anything I do in VR, minecraft, star citizen, to name a few, just turns my computer into a heater.
“obviously, this is a number nobody wants to play at” *flashbacks to my first year of minecraft with a thin-and-light laptop and integrated intel graphics*
@StavroGavro I'm playing on a $400 laptop homie. Just playing a modded curseforge version of minecraft (Valhelsia 3) without shaders I get 25 fps after the world loads, but the first minute in game is less than 1 fps because everything is rendering.
for me it's the thick foliage that really brings the world to life, it just looks so much more real, not seeing a pefectly flat floor but having it totally covered by thick bushes and grass
I find it fascinating just how much the graphics overhauls change the ambiance of minecraft. If you're looking mostly for exploration, you can get some really cool new moments with the new light rendering. PBR really makes those jungle locations just pop.
Very fun fact : this game is the VERY ONLY game that I've ever played that got my 3080 to the very limit of his capability. Every single other games I played runs at at least 80 fps on the very max graphics
Dafuq? 2013 had hardware that could easily run 1024×1024, so if you had anything lower, you just had bad hardware or wanted ultra high framerate / lag aversion.
@@greenhound Not being blind and having them close-up and/or on a high resolution monitor for instance. If you like the blocky default aesthetic 16×16 will do, but who in their right mind uses a 128×128 or 256×256 and actually enjoys it? Either go high-res or low-res imo.
Asian Half Squat : gets 28 FPS with the most intensive shaders and texture pack combined at 4K and 32 render distance Me : gets 27 FPS at 720p and 2 render distance even with sodium
It's crazy how amazing you can make the game look, but every time I play I always find myself going back to normal MC because I haven't found a shader that actually feels comfortable to play with for long periods of time.
I ended up editing the shader pack I was using to turn it on basically potato settings. Partly to get better performance out of my pc, but mostly because it’s comfortable to play with all the time. Basically turning off the dynamic shadows and keeping things soft makes it feel so much better and still makes the game atmospheric and have good lighting
I second BSL shaders, it feels like something almost official, just giving the game better lighting without going wild with effects and textures. Plus it’s quite configurable, say if you hate bloom for example, or want it to run on a potato.
2:50 “At this point, Minecraft and Optifine are the bottleneck" It was actually your VRAM maxing out due to the 256x resolution version of Patrix. Sodium does have optimisations to cut down on VRAM and memory bandwidth usage, which is where the colossal speedup came from.
@@vacuumpowered6119 Mmhm yes. Get that thing to full and go wonder why your entire system froze and drivers are crashing. There's a reason it's trying to go under the maximum. In actuality though, It's not always how much memory is being used, but also how memory is stored and accessed. Memory bandwidth is not infinite. Huge textures demand a lot of memory access, which optimizations really do affect.
i had same problem running a sphax texture pack .. out of Vram on my rtx 2070 super.. all 8gb gone game was choking stuttering like crazy was interestinig.. i've never had it die like that before and i've seen it get properly consumed in games like tarkov with everything turned up and textures on high (not streaming option) and recording lol..
Fun fact! With the replay mod, you can render your gameplay at 60 FPS even if you don't break 30 during recording. Though it has the drawback of you needing to actually wait for the recording to render completely.
2:50 Your graphics card ran out of memory. 3090 Ti has "only" 24 GB of VRAM, and Minecraft needed more than that with those textures and shaders (notice how GPU memory usage is over 24 GB and CPU usage is just around 10%). -It had to constantly remove stuff from memory to make room for stuff that didn't fit and load up that stuff to fully render the image, and it had to do all that for every single frame. It's just a lot slower than having everything loaded and ready.- EDIT: As Donghyun Shin pointed out, the data is actually stored in RAM instead of VRAM (graphics card's memory) when it's full, and it takes _a lot_ more time to load textures and stuff from there than from VRAM, and that's what's causing the huge FPS drops.
EDIT: this comment is not made by 'me' instead my sibling, I would say that even tho Linux has better OpenGL integration it may run vanilla Minecraft better but because of poor Nvidia integration running modded version is not pleasing to say the least. Gaming on Linux is still not perfect. 1. GPU is known for its graphical processing power so it's good that Minecraft is depending on GPU more 2. His texture pack is practically impossible to run (smoothly) on such hardware (says the dev) 3. Minecraft optimisation is bad 4. Windows uses a lot of (unnecessary) memory. It may be the lead OS but it's not a good OS, Conclusion: switch to linux guys, you won't regret
@@ragedpixelxd7079 bruh wtf is that take? "go linux cause windows uses 2gb of ram" what? Yes linux runs much easier and uses less resources but it also has next to no optimization compared to windows, you can and will go from stable fps to unstable just because some games aren't made for linux and some aren't optimized for it. There are reason to go to linux but this isn't one at all.
@@xikirito_6809 were talking about Minecraft here. A game that uses OpenGL for rendering. And OpenGL drivers for Linux happen to be a lot better optimized than on windows. Minecraft will generally perform quite a bit better on Linux than on windows
2:43 The problem is the VRAM on the GPU (all 24 gigabytes) is full and the textures are jumping to the system RAM which make the game a ton slower. The GPU has to wait for the textures to be passed between the VRAM and system RAM. If you had 2 cards in SLI you might not get double the performance since SLI is basically dead but you might be able to overcome the problem with running out of VRAM.
@@cgplays9 I know that. I said it's basically dead but I think the second card could simply act as more vram or something and through an sli bridge it would be the same speed.
@@Gr3gl_ The textures are stored in VRAM and then system RAM as shred VRAM. Also I am pretty sure you mentioned to say 2048 since 256 textures are pretty easy to run on comparison.
It's mostly about how texture memory is handled really. 2:43 You can see the GPU's memory is damn near capped. Finding ways to optimize texture usage is pretty much the majority of it.
Personally, 32x patrix retains the vanilla feel and with seus renewed/ptgi looks so realistic its the place I'd stop if i wanted to keep the minecraft feel as honestly too realistic textures don't mesh with the cube-y world of minecraft
Yeah, as others have mentioned, as cool as this is, it doesn't really demonstrate the power of the RTX 3090 Ti, as because this game calculates all of it's effects on the CPU, so does the SEUS PTGI shader pack. I'd argue you would actually gain more frames with a beefier CPU than with a beefy GPU. You should check out Continuum Graphics, they seem to be developing their own rendering pipeline engine called Focal, which would theoretically offload these graphical effects like shaders and Ray Tracing to the GPU rather than make the CPU calculate them. I am not sure if it's available for the public right now, but you could try and ask them, your channel is pretty big, so I think they might give you an insider version to show off on your channel if you asked them.
This world is rapidly passing away and I hope that you repent and take time to change before all out disaster occurs! Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36) if you believed in Messiah you would be following His commands as best as you could. If you are not a follower of Messiah I would highly recommend becoming one. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life - Revelation 3:20. Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God. Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!
I don't know if you have the VR equipment, but I'd love to see how the 3090ti does with 1440p/4K in VR with those kind of subtle shaders and mod packs.
Just a comment about this video: These texturepacks dramatically mess with the youtube encoding making the visuals look lower quality, but in game it looks 10x better then what your seeing in the video. I recommend trying to apply filmgrain when editing the video (or in game), i heard it makes the bitrate work harder to sustain quality resulting in better video quality... i personally didnt try it myself but a friend of mine did and said it worked great.
With optifine being at 2 fps and sodium at 20, it just shows how optifine has finally been dethroned when it comes to performance mods. Considering how they refused Mojang’s deal to put it in vanilla due to them want only certain features, if a deal is made that adds sodium to vanilla java, optifine will be pretty much dead at that point.
Part of me doubts that Sodium will become a part of Minecraft itself, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Minecraft beats it all out by eventually making a multithreading update when they have a big enough team to dedicate the time and resources to that. It would require basically a full rewrite of the game, but would mean that the game itself on Java would be so buttery smooth that I would actually finally have zero reason to play on Bedrock
@@genericgoat Thank you I've immediately noticed this due to the drastic fps difference from 128 to 256 without too much difference. I think Sodium + iris will still perform better though but not by much.
@@LOL-gn5oh No possible mod will beat Bedrock's FPS and efficiency as Java itself isn't very efficient let alone Minecraft's implementation of Java. Bedrock however caps the framerate by default so yes Bedrock can seem like less FPS but even then it's running more efficient at your screens refresh rate than Java would.
wanna know why halfsquat is the goat? not only does he drop the SILKIEST loop on youtube, NOT ONLY does his game look like how minecraft felt when i was 10, BUT HE INCLUDED THE FUCKING MODLIST. IM GONNA MAKE MY COMPUTER CRY NOW THANK YOU
2 things! 1: Hats off to you. You have made one of the best looking Minecraft’s while still having decent performance. 2: consider making a new build. I know PCs are expensive, but hear me out. Intel and AMD will both be releasing new CPUs soon, which will most likely provide even better performance than what we have now. If you get a new CPU, maybe have it water cooled, so you can bump up the clocks. Do the same with the GPU. Also get DDR5 ram. Thanks for providing me with entertainment! Your videos have helped me through rough times.
The huge drop in performance is probably the result of the VRAM being full on the graphics card. This results in the CPU having to move textures in and out of the GPU VRAM constantly resulting in a huge bottleneck. Once you swapped out optifine the VRAM usage got a lot lower resulting in better performance :)
I don't think it is hard to load graphics card usage to brim, you could just develop a mod or something with no memory optimization and done. The art is to make something look incredible without overloading the gpu. Just because something is overloading the gpu and looks good doesn't mean it is the best way the game can look.
GPU runs faster than cpu. So if same task is run by GPU, it'll be faster. That's what is known as optimization. Minecraft as a game is optimised for every type of pcs while some mods/clients work best with there specific type of GPU. It's just that a game can run smoothly on 1 type of pc (say RTX) or on every pc (even laptops with crappy GPU) with a bit less efficiency. Minecraft is overall optimized for every type cuz of vast userbase.
I find it a little scary to not be able to tell what grass is breakable and what is not. To me, coming across a grass block outline would feel like an impending jumpscare that neither yells nor moves each time.
Tip: If you are on a medium end pc, I reccomend running the patrix 32x with seus renewed instead of PTGI for a huge performance boost with slightly worse visuals.
you should take an RX550 to it's limits just to see how bad they are. Not that I would get anything from it... Also thanks for telling me about those connecting textures mods :D
are you sure your using an RTX? ive got a GTX 1070 and i can run these settings well, even going as far as MAXING the render distance. did you install the correct driver for your RTX 3090?
If Minecraft looked like that on all systems, without requiring high-end components, then I would certainly play it ALL THE TIME! It looks amazing with those textures!!!!
Apparently it’s just a little bit better not that much better… cause the 4070 is like having a 3070 cause they are doing even more cracking down on the hash rates to prevent the overkill of GPUs with mining crypto.
@@rowrat7014 that's the 4090, not the 4070. Nvidia is going to fund more development into the flagship product, this isn't uncommon either. Apple's iPhone 14/14 plus used the same CPU. while 14 pro/pro-max got all new CPU and camera. AMD's Ryzen 9 7950x gotten more increase over the predecessor than Ryzen 5 7600x got over its predecessor.
I want to switch from optifine to sodium+other mods, but there still aren't mods for all the resourcepack features that optifine has. Most of the main stuff you can find, but big things like custom GUIs are still exclusive to Optifine Even the mods that do exist, most of the time require resourcepack makers to redo their whole pack in a different format from their optifine compatible file setup, which makes them not that useful to the end user
Sodium and similar fabric mods are truly amazing in the fps gains they give you, especially for folks like me who can't afford better hardware. Thanks for explaining the fabric mods besides sodium, I gotta check those out.
The thing about BUFF is that you cant use earlier versions like 1.8, and also clients like Lunar and Badlion, and instead have to use 1.18.2 even without mods like optifine
You could do that for sure, as long as you had a decent graphics card and a tonne of RAM in there. The performance would be a bit worse, though. High-end laptops aren't really that far behind desktop PCs.
It would have so awesome if there was a comparison between the normal minecraft and all the most realistic packs for the final scenaries for like the massive mountains. I really wanna look at the diffrences but I honestly amazed by all much minecraft can go and thanks for testing it out for us who has terrible pcs lmao
How did you get the mods with Iris to not look like they are shifting into another dimension with SEUS HRR iris has a known incompatibility with mobs with that shader or are you not using the HRR one?
I have to say the most funniest part was the cows at the beginning.... Everything was fine for the first 10 or 15 seconds and then something went wrong and they were spraying out of there and bunching up in the air Fast as Hell lol......Yea I'm late to the party, it's all good, u can blame Youtubarythym for that.....
