Hey guys! I am back posting on RU-vid. I'm kicking off the new year in the great cultural city of New Orleans for the Blue Runner Red Beans and Rice Major League Eating Contest.
I ate 24lbs and 11 ounces in 8 minutes.
Or ~36,268 calories.
Totaling at 39.5 bowls for a new world record!
Geoff Esper came in 2nd eating 32 3/4 bowls. Darron Breeden came in 3rd eating 29.5 bowls.

Am I just a hater or is Joey not finishing bowls nearly as clean as the other contestants? Half the bowl is on his face and I notice food dropping out the bowl unlike Darron or Jeff who are truly polishing 99% of the bowl.

Does $1500 even cover the costs of airfare and lodging and 'other' meals? Doesn't seem worth it, save for the goal of just winning. Maybe this low prize money contest was just to keep him in shape for bigger purses down the line as the year kicks off...oh, I suppose as well, though I've never seen any endorsements he's gotten, maybe it's the exposure for the big screen or just TV or print ads that he's looking for since half the shitty commercials you see on TV seem to be food related either at crappy chain restaurants or hawking pkg'd food at the grocery store.

maybe a naive comment but i honestly dont see the point of all the extras in the contest. do they just want the free meal or what? there should be a benchmark of how fast you can eat before you're allowed to enter.
