@@Fan-sl6de No its not 'doing it right' some folks hair just wont get as straight genetically its just extremely tight. U can't force it to do what it can't genetically do. If u try it'll damage it. Everyone out there that's 4z n 5a and beyond knows exactly what I'm talking about.
Shaina Jay Trust me you may at first but it gets so thin and damaged you’ll swear off it but then struggle because you got accustomed to having it so manageable.Also the first few times it’s amazing then it just stops looking healthy and the shine diminishes substantially.Striaghteners also snag the hair a lot.

As a cosmetology student, I have to say, your videos have helped me so much and I watch them religiously. Before I started cosmetology school, i couldn’t tell you the first step to even caring for coarse hair. Silk presses are now my favorite thing to do, I enjoy the transformation! So thank you!
ive never seen you do 4c hair, all the girls so far have had like 4a and 3c textures which are loose textures, 4c hair type is like lupita Nyongo hair or viola davis, thats actually the tightest curl pattern, i would love to see you do a silk press on 4c hair texture

Courtney Because some people’s hair takes months to years to grow. To them it’s in accomplishment. My curly hair doesn’t grow for shit so when it does I’m ecstatic about it. Ofc healthy hair over length, but hair is a lot of people’s pride !

It seems the ion doesn’t leave that heavy greasy residue, I should purchase. Sometimes the Tresme heat protectant leaves my hair greasy and weighed down if I sprayed as much as you did here.

I stop getting relaxers because my family stopped; now I just silk press. But now every time I workout my edges revert so I end up needing more heat than when my hair was relaxed, so freaking annoying 😫
I always thought that this method is called "flat ironing hair" which has ben being done for over a couple of decades.... I'm just wondering where and when was the name silk press adapted?
Silk press refers to the shiny bouncy finish look and sometimes using chi silk ion products to achieve the "lightweight" silky/shiny. You can flat iron hair to a matte/flat finish and to the point you can't run your fingers through and the hair is heavy and greasy.

Just watching some videos to learn about different textures. I had a couple clients that the ends were really dry and they hadnt had a hair cut in a long time, but once i detangled the hair and tried to smooth it out like youre doing in the video the hair was becoming tangled somehow again so it was difficult to stretch it while drying before flat ironing. What do you do in this situation? Maybe im just doing it wrong but i would like to learn.
First time tuning in to your videos and i needed this help because i had a lady come for a silk press yesterday and she didn't like the outcome because the heat protectant i used weighed her hair down so this was helpful.
