I’m a subscriber because of your picture books videos. Never stop making this videos please. I’m an avid collector of this kind of books. This universe opened to me when I had my son ten years ago. There’s a beauty in this kind of books that I can’t live without now.
Love your videos about picture books… I am an aspiring children’s’ author and I constantly look at PBs but there are so so many to see! Many you showcase I have never seen! Great interpretations too!
I love listening to your videos, as I draw... it's nice to hear how you walk through the books, the story, and your view of the illustrations! Great channel. Thank you!!!
Shelly.........this was a thoroughly enjoyable video. I had already had great respect for people who are artists, but when you are a children's book author, and you have to hire an illustrator, you gain an all new appreciation for the incredible talent of these people. I really liked the pastel color palettes in a couple of the books. I have been focused on chapter books for some time, where the author is the lead and the illustrator is the supporting cast, but it is so good to see these beautiful picture books, where the illustrator is clearly the star of the show. I went through a few illustrators before choosing the one who illustrated my first picture book. She is a brilliant and talented artist. I hired her to illustrated my second children's book (at book stores in about 10 days). I'm glad you said you like inter-generational friendships. You mentioned that again with the older person and younger person in My Red Hat. My next book is titled: Please be Nice to Old People. It teaches younger readers to have empathy for older people. My illustrator's cover art is just beautiful, with a little boy handing a bouquet of flowers to an older lady on a park bench. A senior man reads a newspaper next to her. My sister suggested adding a bunny rabbit to the back cover, and there will be one. Inside this book, the illustrations are color, but there are only 6, since it is a very short early-reader book. (32-pages) By the way, it looked like the last book were water colors. And, I think the Uncorking book pages could be matted and framed and make great art for a room. Anyway, I will subscribe....this was enjoyable.
I love the Uncorker. It's such a poignant, sweet story - JUST right for Erin's work.💞 I have read the Night Gardener by the Fan's. That Great Whale page!! and the Man in the moon looks an awful lot like his grandpa. A miniature magical garden would make me swoon! I need an exchange student like that! I'm a bit like the little girl in Florette. Living in an apartment for the past 5 years is just about killing my nature/nuture spirit. Constantly trying to find ways around not having a "bit of earth" ...
♥️📚♥️ Love You Forever by Robert Munsch, (Illustrated) by Sheila McGraw one of my favorites. I love seeing and hearing the joy you have for picture books. This year read Dear Milli by Wilhelm Grimm, you would love the illustrations.
