Hi folks, thank you so much for helping me hit 1000 subs in 1 week!! I am bowled over by the support. This is definitely a longer episode than will be typical! The build took a really long time, the detailing timelapse by itself is based on 2.5 hours of footage! Let me know in the comments what your ideal length of video is for a Cities let's play? Anyway, hope you enjoy. I think the cinematics at the end are definitely worth the hours spent on this :)
The stall along the beach quay remind me of the markets they has at St Kilda in Melbourne, Oz - all along the front there were local artists and craftspeople... so lovely.
I know a Wade S. His last name is Stubanas. Lol! Anyway, I'm the same. The person doing this video is obviously a professional designer. (If she isn't, then she really aughta be!) It's just an artistic skill. Not everyone has that skill. I sure as shit don't.
This is quickly becoming my favorite Cities: Skylines channel. I don't think there's an ideal video length. Obviously, shorter videos are easy to consume, but if your content is entertaining, I'll easily watch a 60-minute video. And you are very entertaining. You have a fantastic way of explaining what you're doing, even when you make mistakes, that is very relatable. It's a perfect mix of C:S content and your own personality, which makes it fun.
My retrospective tip would be go to 51:25 of the video, create back yard gates and paths for instant access to the waterfront, from my experience the back door and entrance is treated more as the front entrance when you have a beach property facing the other way we like to walk up to our house from beach side and what’s better than opening you door and looking out to a Candyfied coast
That waterfront area is darling!! I absolutely love how it turned out! It is so exciting when cims use the areas we so lovingly create for them, love hearing your excitement. Loving your work and happy to be a subscriber!!
Absolutely loving this series! Your attention to detail is amazing, and I'm enjoying the natural road layout, most people tend to just use grid patterns which gets boring quickly. Would suggest adding the episode number to your thumbnails, as it is a little hard to identify the episode sequence when using a TV
Incredible episode, one thing i noticed on the key wall near the ferry is that there isnt a fence or some sort of protection from falling down to the road behind. This is such a nitpick, but anyways cant wait for the next one. You’re a natural at this!
For the ‘Brewery’ something Auridon City Brew Co. would be pretty cool, could give it a back story how a lot of the settlers came to the area to work in the Brewery, maybe add a Hop Farm to the forestry area? A tap room? Yes I like beer. Looking great so far btw!
This is one of my favourite areas in early Auridon! I still get blwon away by the path over the two separated quays, that is SUCH a good detail and I just love it!!!
Long-time viewer of City Planner & Overcharged Egg here, and I have to say I'm so glad I found your channel! Loving everything in this first (of many to come, I'm sure) series, especially that miracle you pulled off with turning that horrendous two-tiered waterfront into a lovely neighborhood. That walkable quay wall with connecting stairs really did the trick!
I can see why Egg recommended you and why we have stayed watching. You explain your thought process brilliantly, have humour and a great looking series so far. :)
The layers of height on this one are simply *chef kiss* 💋😚 I also love that you take time to make little yards and back gardens- imo the vanilla assets on their own look so silly without property boundaries or yards and gardens. Anyone can just walk into your house! Thank you for sharing ☺️💖
WOW! Three videos and at 1K, you are a natural! I love your play style and it looks like I am not the only one! Enjoy your videos. You bring a fresh new way to play and your knowledge of the game is fantastic, thank you for sharing!
I think the waterfront could be simply - Woodhaven Seafront. Also, the have this entire neighbourhood names Woodhaven be an ideal situation. It just seems to be one large built up area
Kind of late to this video, but I've played over 1000 hours and watched a ton of videos and never seen that cul-de-sac trick. That's great stuff right there.
I love that you always mention which mod you’re using to do something throughout the video. Helped me learn a lot of detailing tips and tricks. I also enjoy your thorough explanations and forward planning. Well done 😍
Hey Coastal Candy it’s 922am the coffees kicked in and the studio’s quiet and your videos playin in the background whilst I work on some animation, Ears pricked up when ya mentioned parks, great to c ya manipulating those parks always gives it a more parkfective appearance I’m guessing your Colossal Costline design is Uk based, very interesting, I felt sorry for those folks taking a long rest in the cemetery so close to the cliffs edge, but then again even ghosts must love goin for a swim on a hot summers morning. Those new quay networks with the steps are just a joyous addition. Like the bridge over the quay I can imagine the time took trying to get that to work, I’m gonna have to look into that when I start using mods in my series, anyways loved it, coastal detailing is my fave and anytime we can actually get a pier/,ferry stop, marina to actually be at the correct height level for Candyites to board a boat soggy sock free is a winne, love having the street car along the coastline and having the turn around right on the quay line great job
So much to love about this! Your town looks gorgeous, the waterfront is lovely, the tram line is a great addition and so well made, and your detailing is out of this world. There is a great mix of live play, time-lapse and cinematic. And you weave it all together with a lovely clear happy voice. Can someone be hooked when there have been only three episodes so far? That someone sounds suspiciously like me!
That waterfront build in the corner with the ferry was a very bold idea, but you pulled it off! As per my comment on the last video..... wow, just wow 👏👏 I can't wait to continue the rest of this series
I think your videos have the perfect combination of live gameplay and timelapse that make them really enjoyable. It was only your third video but I was already looking forward to it!
you manage to do a ton of detailing without being merely a timelapse micro-detailing channel; it's probably a hard balance to pull off but you do a great job
I’ve watched a few Cities creators and you have a different level of detailing in your builds compared to most! The last time I watched this level of detailing is in a Mars custom build
Fantastic work! Gotta love the level of thought put in everything (I was almost applauding you for putting the green condo buildings in different angles to make the “skyline” more dynamic and interesting)! If I may make a suggesting, as a avid cyclist, I’d love to see some cycling paths, both within streets but also separated cycling paths that go through the nature (the shore or the forest, whatever you prefer!). You got me suscribed. Continue your good work!
This has given me some great ideas for a less-dense expansion along a bay that I need to do! Thanks so much. I'm so glad I found you through the vids you did on the Financial district.
I know I'm a year late, but I wanted to say - YT recommended one of your videos to me (I watch a fair amount of CS, since i don't have the computer power to play), and I really love Auridon ! Even though this one was only your 3rd video, you sound like an old pro, and you obviously have played a ton! I'm glad for the recommendation; keep it up!
Gorgeous! I’m glad your cims are walking down the seafront, I would too, it looks like a lovely interesting place for a stroll, a stop at the cafe and catch the tram home!
The waterfront area is stellar! I especially love the ferry terminal area--my god, that must have taken so much time and patience! And the tiles on the trams stops are darling. Beautiful episode of a beautiful start to the city. Looking forward to more!
Great episode, wasn’t too long at all. Looking forward to seeing where this goes and especially the high density area as that’s more my fav part of builds.
Another excellent episode, both beautiful and useful to other players with only more basic skills. This prompted me to go ahead and build my first attempt at a retaining wall fashioned from quays. Though I only built a small and simple, mostly straight, one, I am still happy and excited about the future of my cities.
Great vid (again!) Love the detailing and style of this awesome town! Some naming suggestions: High Pines, Bayview Lumber, Green coast college, Blueside Hills
Your detailing skills are top notch! Egg-worthy. :-) I like how you break down what you did after the detailing timelapse as well. You are subscribed, liked, and commented!
Okay . . . I play a lot of WR:SR & I love C:S but I do not have the patience to detail at this level and agree fully with Wade S. I do think I heard of you from Overcharged Egg. (He is an amazing dude!) You are doing a GREAT job! The format is just right for my tastes. (ie building vs timelapse with a little pre and post commentary) If I didn't know you were new I would think you are a seasoned pro. (I teach at a college and see dozend of final project presentations/defences every term so I am used to picking apart presentations and I would give you an A+) Keep up the great work!!!
lol - Love you & the series. But I gotta say, "Nothing says playground the way it does when backed up to the broken glass of a recycling center"! That said, you ended up making it look great, I would have never tried that; but since you did it with style, I might be less fearful of trying.
Very impressive - liked and subbed... I've only recently discovered CS and I'm concerned just how addictive this game is (I really need to get back to work. lol). Your videos are really nice because you describe what you're doing and what assets/mods you use - really helps noobs like me. :) Thanks for posting and I'll be on the lookout for your next vid. Cheers.
With the small lake next to the brewery area and the woody theme, you could name it Loch Coille (pronounced like col-ya), basically means Wood Lake in Gaelic. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for these amazing videos. Dont forget to put Ep.2 , Ep.3 etc. in . Thats important for people to follow. Of course 3 Ep. are no problem. But When you have a lot its hard to find the right one.
Really loved the waterfront you worked on, that harbor area is stunning, love the park. forgot to mention on the last video, that the industrial area reminded me of the former Werthan Bag factory in Nashville. This town has very northeast Atlantic vibes to me, and I really enjoy it. I think you could do worse than to call your bay Harmony Bay. Happy to see your channel taking off, you truly deserve it.
You've got a great aesthetic going on here.. reminds me a little bit of some the NZ North Island towns I've been to. Loving the quay work - always tricky!
I found this channel randomly and wow, I’ve blitzed all three in this episode in one night, I’m obsessed with your build style and commentary! Well done! I cannot wait till the next episode
Love this series already😅 The only thing what triggers me a bit is that the lit pathway between the queues over the ferry is not wide enough or lined up with the queues and there are no fences. Btw my english is prob Bad so hope u understand what i meant haha i love the effort and the Details tho😍 great work 👏
You are such a well-rounded talent. Special appreciation for the way you create those simple spaces in the path networks. They're so inviting. I'm looking forward to the next episode already. I wonder how many subs you'll have by next week? Brilliant work!
On the little jetty at 28:25, I thought it would be fun to use the Door Props by Spence! to add a small mysterious entrance on the left side. Ooooh what goes on in there?! Quite apt with the road down to the ferry port being Coleridge Street, given The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner.
