Detailing Extremely Dirty Vehicles Without Wasting TIME | Money Matters! In this video we are talking about how to focus on only the necessary parts of the detailing process when detailing extremely dirty vehicles. By focusing only on the necessary areas we can instantly increase our cash flow in the auto detailing business just by saving time. While we are always thinking about how to increase our customer base, we need to also consider how to decrease our time spent detailing especially on these disaster details in order to create long term cash flow over time.

Hey you probably wont see this, but using a vortex/tornador blow gun on that carpet after vacuuming is 10000% faster and easier. I recommend this order... 1. vacuum 2. blow out the carpet, then the doors and dash, 3. continue as you did. you will have to vacuum again, but it is all surface dirt, and comes up like magic. thanks for the content!

I know this video is old, and I'd never ask what anyone charges. But, if you factored in time, materials what you need to make to be profitable is $100.00 per hour, (making that amount up because it's even and easy) what would you charge for that? Based on the $100.00 number of course. I never ask what anyone else charges or why. To be honest, I wouldn't do the car now, but I do understand someone needs to and does. I have done them before and was never okay with what I made on something like that lol. Probably because, when is good enough came into play. I'd have told the people to do inside and out, I'd need two days and would have likely spent two full days doing it. I'm older now and can be picky, but when I was 19-23 years old I'd probably do something stupid like say the interior will cost you $150.00 and the exterior $150.00 lol. It's a long question and I'm sorry. Just when I did it as a very young man, the means I had weren't what they are today. Especially the steam.. All I would have had (early/mid 1990's) would have been an APC, several brushes, a carpet shampoo and an extractor. Of course protectants too. Just to get the interior hard surfaces clean would have been probably two hours on something like that. Then, after doing everything possible on the faberic I would have to go into dying it. But on fast forward, that job took time. I still do the work, just would turn something like that down. That said, if I wanted to do it, at the $100.00 number, I'd be telling them $1,000.00 for the interior lol. And It wouldn't be perfect. Side note, I have no idea how old you are, and the age thing was about me, when I started and nothing at all to do with you. The video is great and informitave.

I used a Mytee Lite for quite a king while. I converted to an aqua pro vac this summer and have 0 regrets. Much cheaper, and it’s cleaning just as well. I can still use heat with my steamer or by adding heated water that I hear with an electric kettle (I’m mobile) and it works fantastic. It’s getting me the same results as the Mytee for so much less.

While having to tackle a totally destroyed vehicle each time is way more than should be expected, in this case, it actually worked for you, both in product description and use methodology. I detail my family and friend's cars for fun. Maybe one a month since it's so time-consuming. I don't think most people know what goes into a car detail. I offered to detail my friend's car today and she said "i get it detailed every 2 weeks so it shouldn't be that dirty." There is no way her car gets detailed. A maintenance wash at best. Her wheels had caked on brake dust that required multiple passes with a wheel cleaner. The trunk and other parts of the car had so many imbedded contaminants it needed to be clayed. No sealant or wax on the car at all. Dust all over the interior. Leather seats have never been cleaned. My microfiber towels were disgusting by the end of it. People don't pay attention to how dirty their cars really are. When i showed her the before and after pictures she was floored. And she said she's going to fire the guy who "details" her car. It took me 8 hours! I know, it's crazy. But it kinda of relaxes me. If I did this as a business, I'd either have to cut corners (like not try to vacuum up every speck of dust), or I'd charge quite a bit for a proper detail.

Definitely wouldn't do such jobs for free. Quick wash and vacuum for free for a friend is fine with me but no disgusting hard detail jobs.

I would love to start my own detailing business, I have a lot to learn, but my first question would be; where do you actually do the detail? Do the customers drop off their cars to you? Do you drive to them? If they take their vehicle to you, where do they go while waiting? It may be a dumb question, but it’s something I’ve been thinking about while thinking about starting a business.
