My name is Luke Wilson, owner and operator of Wilson Auto Detailing, a mobile auto detailing company that operates out of Middle Tennessee. The auto detailing industry is so full of misrepresentation, confusion, and hype, I have created this youtube channel in order to cut through all of the false advertisement, and offer a voice of reason and experience in the midst of it all. This channel is designed to help 3 main groups of people: #1) The do-it yourselfers who want to educate themselves. #2) The car enthusiasts who want to stay up to date with the best products, techniques, tools, strategies, etc... and want to stop running in circles because of the confusing detail forums, manufacturers, etc... and #3) Anyone wanting to get into the detailing business, but just don't know where to start, or even those who have started, but feel like they are getting nowhere. Follow along as I explain different products, tools, advertisement techniques, communication skills, and more!
I've swapped out my normal wheel cleaner for dark fury months ago and glad I did it. I dilute to 4:1 and use it as wheel cleaner, road grime cleaner and bug cleaner.
I've been told that using a steamer on the vents is dangerous bc it can trap moisture and lead to mold, but I can see you doing it here, am i being misinformed?
You are among the smarter detailers as you wear safety equipment. I wonder how many detailers, in the future will regret not having taken proper safety measures, will encounter health issues because of not doing so?
Most detailers use biodegradable or ph neutral products which are safe. He uses mostly high PH products which I don't even recommend as you'll always have to polish your vehicle after
Only true way to permanently get rid of streaks is to clean the inside of the door and trims that rub on the glass as it moves up amd down. This is only temporary until you roll the window down.
It’s just a pump sprayer, one of the best ones I’ve used out like 10 different ones actually is for gardening or animal enclosures (sold at my local exotic animal store). It’s called RainMaker and has blue lettering and a blue top w/ a metal extended spout. There’s a bunch of great ones…the name brand like IK and others are great, but kinda stupidly expensive.
Older cars with stronger plastics will be fine with this, but if you do ANY of this on a newer car you will permanently wreck the panel for sure. This should be last resort only.
Cleaning my windows, especially the inside of the windshield is the bane of my existence. Sometimes I'll pay for a detail just to have someone else do it.
Has anyone tried Orangeblast D-Limonene from Superior Products? How does it compare to Pink Perfection (smell, cleaning power, sudsing)? Citrus D-Limonene Solvent is their more costly gallon at $62. It’s great tar/sap/adhesive and all around a great organic solvent to break down heavy built up grime! Also good to strip silicone dressings where surfactants fail.
I just always use rinseless wash. If muddy then i pre rinse with rinseless and then blast off the mud with a pressure washer and then respray with rinseless to avoid water spots.
I messed my moms cloth seats up with my drill brush 😭 did a great job getting the stains out but pulled the fibers apart and now the seat looks frayed. Do I just need a softer brush head or should I just start using a hand brush or what?
I either use some super clean to lubricate whatever may be down there and then use the exhaust port on my vacuum, which is pretty powerful. It almost if not every time works to get everything out. If that doesn’t work, I agitate it with a drill brush and extension rod and then use the vacuum.
At that point just throw the towel and keep ur seats a bit dirty... 45$ for the enzyme, 45$ for the champoo and 45$ for the finisher and 100-200 for an extractor. All that because you want to clean the dirty interior of ur first car. Got an extractor for 100$ a bissel proheat who has already a slight clogged sprayer i think and bought a 10$ bottle of oxy car clean. Lets just say my seats are still hella dirty judging by the water that i keep extracting..
