I like your setup not only because it's a combination of my favorite colors it also the color of my detailing brand. I will rewatch this video when I'm ready to build my garage.
I also work out of my garage... it is drywalled, decorated in an automotive theme ,insulated and has provisions for heat and water. It is still a work in progress... I need to do the floor like yours!
Thank you! I didn't have to do any sort of permits or paperwork in my area as far as the remodeling was concerned. You may have different property tax requirements for having your business at home though. If I put a drain in the garage I'd have to get permits etc.
@@high-defdetailing1485 Very cool. I'll be on the lookout for them. I just started my channel up and use the "On the Go" water DI system, works pretty good!
@@ddautodetailing Sweet! I've been looking at those as well. I'm thinking about going with a local company so I don't ever have to worry about refilling mine haha. Although the On the Go ones are nice and compact!
These are the Barina ones from amazon. They're pretty cheap but have held up well! I really like how easy they are to link together and don't require any fancy wiring. Just plug and play.
Nice job on your shop. I’m looking to get a home detailing biz started, definitely need to organize the garage. You made good use of your space. Btw, what’s your ceiling height?
Thank you! This update was probably done around my 3rd or 4th year in business. You can definitely make it happen with a basic space to start! Ceiling height is just above 8ft. Next space will hopefully be 10 or 12!
Thanks! That would be quite the long list of links 😂 I will say that most of my lighting is from Amazon, all the craftsman cabinets are from Lowe’s, floor was special/custom ordered, and all of my detailing supplies are from multiple companies and vendors.
The flooring is Swisstrax Ribtrax flooring. I love it! The 'vacuum' on the wall is actually a car dryer. It's by metrovac. It's great and really powerful...and really loud too haha
As long as your workspace is climate controlled and looks professional you should have no issues getting accredited by any major ceramic coating company. I've had many people say my home space is much nicer then the majority of retail shop locations around here.
@@high-defdetailing1485 I do not have a drain in my 20x20 garage either.. I still wash vehicles in there all the time using conventional and rinseless methods also. that is why I am so excited to get swisstrax soon so that I don't ddrag hoses and cords etc. across across small water puddles and eliminate the need for squeegee out the pad as most of the water drains out into the driveway pretty well
I believe it was just an interior eggshell white from Menards. I’m going to redo it with a grey next year with Behr or Sherwin Williams paint. It’s much better quality.
@@high-defdetailing1485 yea I’m debating between white and grey as I’m planning on doing my garage over the winter. I have a Sherman Williams around the corner from me too. I do wash with my pressure washer in the garage though so trying to find the best paint to repel moisture
@@macdetails5303 I would recommend a semi-gloss paint in that case and 2 to 3 coats. Some people use exterior paint but I stick with interior. Best of luck!
Too much! haha. We had the garage down to the studs, redid electrical, put in a ceiling, new drywall, custom floor and replaced the garage door as well. Probably about $5,000 in renovation cost, not counting any detailing equipment or cabinets you see in the video.
